Based on that understanding, I moved forward with confidence in the process. However, during the Zoom meeting with my ex-spouse and her attorney, the direction changed significantly. When her attorney stated her position regarding the house and inheritance, I felt that I was strongly encouraged to accept those terms rather than having my position more firmly advocated. I repeatedly heard that I should "just take it" because it was the best I was going to get. Looking back, I regret not reviewing his client feedback before retaining him. My experience aligns closely with the concerns others have raised. Throughout this process, I often felt that communication was dismissive and, at times, condescending rather than supportive or advisory. I was also disappointed in the level of preparation and representation during our Zoom meeting. It did not appear that he was fully prepared, and much of the discussion involved reviewing materials I had already provided, rather than advocating my position with a clear strategy. Was told we'd have it over within a couple months. I'm still not divorced, no custody set, no child support and I filed in January 2019. Had he fought for me and got my back child support there would have been his money. Also was dropped as a client because I couldn't make his $300 a month payments (for what, nothing was accomplished?), I was paying what I could as a single mom having my kids all the time (Ex lives out of state) with no help at all from my ex and after my ex hired Ryan Mehl in September, who I've been told is related to Mr. Miller, highly convenient if you ask me. He took my money then totally through my son and my grandbaby under the bus. He got my son arrested in Cass by not letting us know there was an emergency hearing which put a arrest warrant out for him when we were already in court and he told us to go!! After this he just took my money AND did not fight for my son or our grandbaby. The last straw was he handed over joint custody and charged me another 400.00 dollars after I paid his other attorney 4500,00 up front for custody which he thru the whole family under the bus for charges in Berrien County which did not pan out.
