The breakfast burrito w/ veggie sausage is a spiritual experience. Whoever makes the burritos in this place needs a Michelin star. I am not kidding you, this burrito has a chokehold on me. Yum! Yum! Yum!! The coffee here is delicious and the customer service is great. Parking is plentiful and the establishment has seating indoors, as well as outdoors. It's not very large inside, but enough room where you don't feel crowded. I had a cappuccino with oatmilk. The coffee is smooth and doesn't have that acidic after taste, nor bitterness. Banjo Coffee is one of my new favorite coffee shops in Atlanta! They are an underrated shop in Avondale Estates (or maybe not so underrated since they've got 4.5+ stars on Yelp! After a disappointing coffee at Rising Son, we most definitely had to make another caffeinated stop at Banjo Coffee. And WOW! Cold brew on draft... and there was more than one option! The girl at the counter was nice and patient and let us try some of the different kinds of cold brew they were serving. There is both "regular" cold brew and nitro cold brew, all of which they make themselves! I tried a few, some of which were a bit too adventurous for me so I settled on the plain Jane nitro cold brew, that was super smooth - I could have taken it black, but I still prefer a little milk to take off the acidic edge. I took home a howler, which I believe is 32oz for $10 of a cold brew of my choice! They use World Centric 100% compostable straws which I'm a huge fan of! I've also tried their matcha, which isn't as sweet as I'm used to at (ok this is embarrassing) Starbucks, but it was full of flavor and I felt healthier avoiding the sugar, anyway! Definitely my go to coffee shop in Avondale Estates, and maybe even in Decatur, in order to avoid the busyness and the lines at Dancing Goats. read more

I love trying new coffee shops, so I was really excited to come here! I was immediately greeted by friendly baristas. I ordered a flat white and I really enjoyed it! There were plenty of seating and outlets. It was pretty quiet in there as most people were doing work/on their laptops. There were also plenty of seats outside! I enjoy many of the food options, especially their avocado toast (now served on a bagel) and breakfast burrito. I'm not a fan of their muffins as the texture is very dense. Love love this place! We came in on Saturday morning around 9. They have limited parking out front. But we were able to score a spot. It wasn't too crowded when we got there - a few people but no line. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The inside is super cute. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered two bacon, egg and cheese biscuits. I got a side of jam with mine. We also ordered a honey lavender latte and a black coffee. As well as a cinnamon roll from their pastry case. The food came out in a good amount of time. The biscuits were amazing! The biscuit itself was a little crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! The eggs were delicious and they didn't skimp on the cheese. Maybe one of my new favorites! The cinnamon roll was also oddly amazing! It doesn't look like much, but oh don't be deceived! Located in Avondale this quaint coffee shop serves up some spectacular flavored coffee along with cute homemade cookies from Jimella. They have nitro cold brew in cups, cans and large quantities. We tried the Lavender Honey latte and the Bourban Vanila latte. Both were good but for us really on the sweet side. We also added 2 cookies, one cookie and cream and for fall pumpkin! I absolutely love this little truck. I go to the location at Piedmont park and their coffee is magical. I mean that in the most literal way possible. The flavor of the coffee itself is so deep and rich, with a very perfect steamed milk. They nail the temperate and the velvety foam. I was astonished when I tried their vanilla bourbon latte. I actually felt like I was drinking melted whipped cream (in a good way) I just about melted and had to hand it back to my partner and continue with my oat latte. Which was also amazing!! Prices are also great. I think my drink was 4.95 or something like that, while the bourbon latte was a bit more like 6$. Very worth it and beats Starbucks 8$ drinks that give you headaches and jitters. read more

Came here and tried the lavender honey latte based on a recommendation- it was very different than the usual coffees I get but it was delicious! First visit and I had the bourbon vanilla draft latte. It wasn't sweet at all and served in a mason jar. I believe it was a little over $4.50. There are five two tops and one communal table. The space itself is pretty small and could be considered a coffee room. There is also outdoor seating and free wifi. I found parking to be pretty convenient. There are about ten spaces in front of the shop and that's good considering the business is pretty small. I'm sure I will return to try a different drink. read more

I grabbed a quick bite at this coffee shop in Avondale Estates. Decided on the avocado toast and called it in. The piece of toast itself is pretty huge and the amount of avocado ratio is more than enough. The tomatoes made for a bonus. That being said, it was a bit bland except for the parts with the tomato/onion on top, which added much needed flavor. I have had much better avocado toast, but it will do. Please make sure you're hungry if you order because it is huge. I would have given a 3 star for the toast itself but the customer service brought it down to a 2. Don't know the vibe they are going for in this place but it definitely wasn't welcoming or friendly. Although it is close, don't think I will be going back again. read more

I only just discovered Banjo 6 months ago, when there were still COVID restrictions in place. It's April 2021, and the staff there are still taking excellent precautions. Coffee: Excellent. As good as that place in Decatur. Always brewed just right, and the main brew is not always the same kind, so I get to try out different varieties. Service: Excellent. Always friendly, always accurate, and patient. They recognize regulars and they help the noobs. They are knowledgeable about the product and make good recommendations. Food: I've only had a few of the pastries, which are from the excellent Alon's bakery. Atmosphere: Professional but comfortable. Not pretentious at all, with music that doesn't stand out for being either precious or obnoxious. There's outdoor seating, and parking in the (shared) lot for about 10 cars. There's also street parking. One downside that I'm not going to deduct for because it's the fault of Atlantans: Bagels are toasted by default. Toasting a good bagel is no better than ordering a good steak well-done with catsup. read more

I am in love! The shop manager, Olivia, is a gem and walked me through some of their coffee selections as well as offered me a sample of their nitro brew. I ended up choosing a cold brew with cream and sugar and a chocolate croissant which added to $9.50 with tip. Not super cheap but I don't mind paying for a good coffeeshop experience. I settled into the shop for an hour to do some work and enjoy my coffee. The cold brew was just strong enough and the amount of sugar and cream made it just sweet and creamy enough. Bonus : they used reusable metal straws (WHOOP) but you can request a plastic one if you need it! They also can their cold brews and sell them at stores like Whole Foods- good quality stuff with great staff! Support local coffee shops! read more

Possibly my favorite coffee I've had since moving to Atlanta? I ordered a 12 oz Honey Lavender Latte with oatmilk and after 1 sip, my mouth DROPPED because of how delicious it was!! I was so impressed. Usually places have too much lavender or it's too syrupy, but this was PHENOMENAL. The baristas were super friendly and helpful! Bravo Banjo. Avondale is cute and I wish their shop was in the center of the town but now that I know it's there, I'll always stop by when I'm in the area. Covid Protocol = they had hand sanitizer out front, signs spacing people out, touchless pay, the door open for air flow; and asked patrons to wait outside for their drinks. 100% impressed with them. On our way to lunch, my wife wanted to get some coffee, so we headed here to try it out. Fairly small coffee shop with a few spots to sit in, but we only stayed long enough to get her coffee and go. Cute ambiance inside, though. She ordered a latte with some alternative milk, which I tried a little bit of. It tasted kind of strange at first, but grew on us over time. I had read from other yelp reviewers that this was one of the best spots for coffee in my area and I have to say, they were correct. The deep navy and grey colors along with the wood facade on the counter and barstools/ tables gives it a homey and familiar feel. A lot of folk music being played gives it a sense of relaxation and slowing down of time while still getting in a good read or work session. It was my first time visiting today and I'd say this is just a decent coffee shop. I got iced matcha green tea latte and my bf got iced americano with 4 shots. The total came out to be about $9 which is standard. My bf thought the americano was good but not great. The first time around, my iced matcha latte was awful. It only tasted of milk even though I asked her to add extra matcha powder and honey for sweetening. I didn't feel right spending close to 5 bucks on a cup of milk so I asked another barista (the one who originally made it was in the back somewhere) if she could just add more matcha and honey for some flavor. She kindly offered to remake the drink. It was better the second time for sure, but it was overly sweet and had slight matcha flavor. Maybe they're better with coffee drinks. The main problem I had was the WiFi. It would connect fine, but had trouble loading pages apart from Google and other Gmail. I thought it was just my laptop, but my bf has the same issue. Give me Banjo Coffee. Banjo is known for their cold brew and nitro coffees using roasted beans from Café Campesino. Their fair trade beans are organic and roasted here in Georgia. I like to order a Bourbon Vanilla Latte with a sweet or savory pastry. Currently, their carb selection includes croissants (plain, almond, berry-stuffed, feta & spinach, ham & cheese), muffins (blueberry, eggnog, gingerbread), cheese Danishes and scones. Finding a spot in their shoebox parking lot can be a challenge and seating is limited. However, when I'm in Avondale Estates I visit to earn banjo stamps on my rewards card. I finally decided to visit Banjo after being a loyal customer of the previous coffee house, Urban Grounds, that occupied that space. I was a little sad to see them go, as it had always been a nice quiet place to get work done. I'd tried Banjo's nitro brew shortly after they'd opened and were still in the process of getting fully set-up and I don't think nitro brew is my thing so I took a while going back. I stopped in today for a quick snack and a drink and to do a little work and I'll most certainly be back again. I had the avocado toast and the matcha latte, both were very good and I'll have them both again. The avocado toast had a homemade pickled tomatoes and pickles on top of the avocado that was quite delicious. As a lover of all things matcha, the matcha latte was fantastic, it was perfectly sweetened (per my request) and it was blended perfectly. I knew when I saw the barista with the bamboo whisk that they knew what they were doing at Banjo. The interior is pretty similar to the set-up of the previous business, but with one long bench table in the middle, a couple of two-person and four-person tables and a couch. It filled up pretty quickly during the time I was there on Saturday afternoon. Overall, this place is around the corner from my house so I'll be back. Glad to see another thriving restaurant in Avondale Estates. read more
