Thoroughly enjoyed late brunch at Francaise on a Saturday. I had their riff on the eggs benedict,…read moreand it was delightful. My wife's dish was also excellent, and our French press coffee was really solid. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and the wait staff was wonderful. The brunch crowd was light at that hour, and we had space and quiet for talking. The wait staff seemed overworked -- only two folks working front-of-house that I could see. However, they did fantastic work.

It's time for our annual trip to Spokane for my wife's immersion and if you follow my reviews at…read moreall, you know that my job on vacation is to coordinate the food. We always make it a point to get the beignets from Francaise when we come to Spokane, so on this trip we decided to stop in for dinner. Francaise has a warm inviting "dining room" vibe that gives comfort to its guest. The exposed brick, warm lighting and plants really set the tone for intentional conversation and intimate dinners. While we did come on a night that seemed like they were short staff, our servers were still checking in and very accommodating with how busy it was. We ordered the Pain Maison, Black Truffle French Fries, Risotto à la Forestière, Steak Frites*and Grand Marnier Croissant Bread Pudding. Pain Maison - 7/10 I think the bread was good, I do wish it had been a bit warmer and that there would have been a flavor to the butter. Black Truffle French Fries - 10/10 These were executed so well. The fries on their own carried a lot of flavor, and the truffle took it to another level. We could have easily eaten another basket. Risotto à la Forestière - 8/10 I stole a few bites off of my wife's plate. There were portions of the duck that were a bit dry, but overall it was very tasty. The risotto carried a lot of flavor and the white wine sauce finished everything nicely. Steak Frites - 7/10 I did end up switching my fries to the Robuchon potatoes because they sounded so good and they were. As far as the steak itself, it was cooked to perfection, but I did not enjoy the blue cheese-cognac butter like I thought I would have. There was a charred sweetness to it that I was not expecting (completely on me) and it made me wish I had just ordered the steak itself. Grand Marnier Croissant Bread Pudding - 9/10 The ice cream completely took this dessert to the stars! The Bread pudding in itself had a hard outer layer with a soft and flavorful inner layer, and the combination with the salted caramel ice cream was delicious.  I think that Francaise would be a great place to do Hors D'oeuvres along with drinks and dessert along with friends or for a date- I am curious to try their short rib and think I will make it a point to do so when we come back.

Reservations are a must for this experience, and from the moment we arrived, the speakeasy-inspired atmosphere, elegant décor, and carefully curated music set the stage for an unforgettable night. Every course was exceptional, but the Summer Garden Salad immediately stood out with its vibrant citrus notes and earthy flavors that seemed to burst with every bite. The Agneau and Black Label Filet de Bœuf were remarkably tender, with the steak being perfectly seasoned and among the most flavorful dishes I've ever tasted. What truly elevated the evening was the impeccable hospitality. Our server, Dimitri, expertly guided us through each course, explaining every detail with warmth and professionalism that made the experience feel magical. Owner Julie's passion for both the food and guest experience was evident throughout the evening, and the talent of Executive Chef Stephen Rinaldi and Chef de Cuisine Sebastian Zowal shined in every dish. This wasn't simply dinner--it was a culinary experience I'll remember for years to come. If you're looking for a truly special meal, Loren is an absolute must-visit.

Thoughtful, flavorful, and seriously appreciated. What We Ordered at Lorèn: * Burrata - creamy perfection with roasted grapes & grilled focaccia * Bistro Salad - butter lettuce, candied walnuts, herbs, and 1836 olive oil vinaigrette * Rouge Salad - arugula, pickled beets, whipped goat cheese, citrus, pistachios * Lorèn Beef Burger - espresso bacon jam, black garlic aioli, butter leaf, and gorgonzola.
