This cafe is my second home. I started coming here almost a year ago and I'm here now almost every single day. They are open Tuesday-Sunday. I'm not normally here at nights, but I think they're open until 5 Tuesday and Wednesday and then 9 the rest of the days. There are so many good things to say about this place, I'll try to keep it short (no promises): Having been coming here daily for a year, I've had the pleasure of watching the place and the staff grow. They had a couple of things going on when I first started coming here, but they've really branched out. Trivia on Fridays, WSU football games are live streamed. Open mic on Saturday nights, there's usually live music on Saturday mornings. Bingo on Thursdays just started. The owner supports local everything, including artists, authors, and musicians. There's a whole shelf full of board games and crafting supplies as soon as you walk through the door, so there have been multiple times I've been here with my kids playing board games and I've seen others do the same. The best part: Pet friendly. Beyond pet friendly. They sell puppy birthday cakes, kongs, pup cups, and quite few other dog related treats. There are multiple dogs that just hang out in the front with their owners, but there is a nice area in the back complete with booths and a barrier to allow friendly dogs to be off leash. Coffee and human food are amazing. Staff is lovely, supportive, and just overall amazing. This will forever be my home coffee shop as long as I'm in Pullman. read more

I love this coffee shop! First of all, dogs are not only allowed inside, there is an off leash area with tables for the paw-rents in the back. They offer a lick mat or kong filled with a variety of treats for the pups. For the humans, there is coffee, tea, pastries, and wine and beer. I will never be bring my dog here again I brought my 19 week pup here for socialising told it was safe ans fun they had a big no barking sign on the wall but they don't care at all when we got there our puppy got attacked by a golden retriever who was lunging barking trying to bite my dog when I picked him up the dog was jumping up biting I reported it to a worker who did nothing and then let other dogs in there and a 2ND dog had the same thing happen only then did staff step in this place is NOT SAFE AT ALL for dogs and I will never be going again and telling everyone I know not to take there dogs there read more

The coffee was great. Staff were friendly. I didn't get any food, but it looked good! And what a pleasant surprise to be visiting Pullman and find a cafe that allows dogs! Loved this cute cafe. Went on a Sunday after a game-day, and let me tell you: every cafe and restaurant was PACKED with hour-long waits, and this cute cafe I'd been curious to check out was open without a wait to seat! WINNING!! While we didn't have our pups with us, I enjoyed checking out all the furry-friendly-pups who were well behaved. My dog would absolutely love this place! There's a big open-table seating in the back with short walls for dogs to have a play date while pup-parents sip on coffee or eat. It's great!! We ordered basic breakfast and coffees. The portions were ample! My husband and I shared and both felt full. The lines got long as we waited, but that was to be expected, and staff were running around serving. While our food arrived before our drinks, we understood: they were slammed and probably didn't expect as many folks, but after Apple Cup, it was NUTS with the amount of Alumni and fans from both UW and WSU in small-town Pullman. This is one of my favorite local coffee shops because it's big, the food and drinks are great, the WiFi is reliable, and there are dogs. One time I saw a cat in a stroller and on a different day there was live music. They also have beer and wine but I've only ordered a beer here once or twice. Their charcuterie platter used to be a bit more interesting but it's still good and they are typically happy to let me customize it when I only want some of the items. Whenever a new barista/cashier isn't sure how to ring up a custom one they typically get an owner or a more experienced employee from the back. It's a college town so I see new people behind the counter occasionally. How it's set up: Normal cafe with some peaceful/stationary dogs in the front and a gated dog run area with tables in the back. Sometimes the back area is empty and sometimes it's a great way to meet dogs while working. It can get a little crazy back there if there are 2+ dogs running around, though. I think they sometimes offer dog training classes. Nice memory: I've been wanting to try a bûche de Noël (aka Yule log) cake for years and didn't want to make a whole cake for myself, so I asked them if they could make one to sell by the slice in late December (because they occasionally sell cake slices)... and they made it happen! Hope they make at least one again next December! They also have a nice little "Cougs Pay it Forward" station to the left of the baked goods case so people can grab a token for a free/donated cup of drip coffee. People can donate to that by adding however many tokens they'd like to their bill. read more

Place is great. They have various coffee drinks (don't ask me I don't drink coffee but my wife does and she always is satisfied with what she gets) as well as some sandwiches and baked goods. And a discount if you bring a pooch. The front is set up like a regular diner, but the back has a walled area that the dogs can wander about and visit everyone at their tables. My only negative is that sometimes the back is filled up with people studying or reading and there's no room for someone to sit that has a dog. Other than that, all is great. Owner and staff is very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit. read more

Pups and Cups is my "go to" cafe in Pullman. Their breakfast burritos are huge and delicious, and come with your choice of salsa and sour cream. The coffee is freshly brewed and hot. (The waffles are great too.) They're also waaaay more reasonably priced than Roost. I can get a burrito and coffee here for around 12 bucks, while Roost charges 8 dollars for a dirty chai. The staff are super friendly, as well, and you can bring your dog. They'll also wrap your burrito to eat on the go. Best cafe ever! read more

Visited my friends in Pullman, WA. this weekend! Unfortunately, there was a WSU Football game Saturday, so most coffee shops were busy! We decided to visit Pups & Cups Cafe because we heard it was good and it also wasn't super busy! The building is at a good location and it's very clean and organized on the inside! The business also welcomes dogs into a "off leash" play area which is really cool! However, my friends informed me that their dog was kicked out in the past for "barking". In my opinion, a dog coffee shop should not remove dogs just for barking and playing. Upon placing my order, I observed the menu for drinks and breakfast and all looked very good! The prices were reasonable and the drinks looked appealing. Unfortunately, my breakfast burrito seemed to have come with warmed up previously frozen eggs and the coffee was not pleasant at all. "The Golden Retriever" came with two ice cubes and tasted like dishwater. I would not recommend this coffee shop to others based on the poor food products. read more

I've been to Pups and Cups a few times now and I love everything about it. They allow dogs in the cafe! The baristas are always so friendly and welcoming. There is a lot on the menu, but the baristas have always asked if I had any questions and have been more than willing to help out. I've had an iced Moroccan Mint Tea and a drip coffee and enjoyed them both. The environment is perfect for studying or getting work done. I would suggest bringing headphones because it does get loud at times, especially when there are pups around! Happy hour runs from 4 pm - 6 pm every day and features both food and drink specials. I've had a glass of wine (Merry Cellar Syrah) and the charcuterie board from the happy hour menu and LOVED them both. If you get a charcuterie board, you definitely need to get the mustard cheddar. Pups and cups is a wonderful cafe with a super cute atmosphere. As the name would suggest they are very pet friendly and they have an area inside at the back where they allow off leash dogs to play while owners can enjoy their food and drinks. I'm not a coffee drinker but they have many tea options, and my mom loved her "S'more dog" drink. For non to go orders they have reusable mugs. I'd never had coffee before coming here. Now my pup and I go everyday. I've tried every drink and they are all good except chai tea but that's a me problem. Katie is a master baker. Jacob's Bakery provides some awesome cinnamon rolls. The breakfast burritos are good. The pesto and sun dried tomato panini has too much cheese for my liking but the roast beef one is perfect with whatever that orange mustard sauce was. At night the beer cheese dip wins followed closely by charcuterie boards. Wattson says woof out of woof (10/10). He plays with the dogs in the off lease area. Lunchtime gets too high energy for him and me. The slippery floors are something he had to learn about when attempting to run around. read more

Food was great. Service and drinks was rude and a hassle. We entered the cafe and approached the counter to view the menu posted above. Before trying to get the barista's attention, we were greeted poorly. The staff member told us "give me a minute" with a irritated tone. We didn't even say anything to the staff member. My partner ordered a blended drink. When it arrived there were a lot of chunks of ice within the drink. We asked if it can be blended a bit longer to get rid of the ice. Instead of them re-blending the drink, the staff member told us that we can use a bigger straw. My partner informed the staff member that there would still be large chucks of ice within the beverage. After again asking the staff member if they could re-blend the beverage, they threw it back into the blender. When the staff member gave the drink back, they said that it was the best that they can do and put their larger straws into the beverage as if their suggestion was going to fix it. The interaction with the staff member felt as though we were wrong and that we should just deal with the ice chunk beverage. The drink was perfect after they re-blended. We understand that some days can be rough on top of working within the service industry, but taking it out on customers shouldn't an option. read more

Love that they're open late on the weekends but would love to see them open on Mondays. Best coffee in Pullman (and you get to see cute dogs too)! I love this place! They can make just about any drink sugar free (including mochas) and they have super fun flavor combos! The only downside is that when it is busy, the line can be a bit of a wait, but totally worth it! The staff are all very welcoming and the painting classes are also fun! They have a nice range of bakery items to lunch/snack items that are tasty and usually gluten free. And they source most of their ingredients from other local businesses (i.e. the coffee beans are roasted by a local guy). I'm sooo going to miss this place when I move away. What could be better then a kick ass cup of coffee surrounded by pups! So glad we stopped by after noticing a giant fluffy Newfoundland hard at work through the window. Her name is Nala and she greeted us at the door and gave us a quick tour. I bought some great homemade dog treats, that were happily consumed as soon as I got home. I have been going to this coffee shop almost every day for two weeks and there have been multiple incidents where I have felt discriminated against for my appearance and my pitbull dog by the staff. I talked to the owner about my concerns and his response was he doesn't understand how I feel that way and they have multiple people of color that work there (which they do not). He also called my dog reactive and said I am aggressive to his staff. I will not be spending anymore of my money here and their drinks are are not good.
