It's time for our annual trip to Spokane for my wife's immersion and if you follow my reviews at all, you know that my job on vacation is to coordinate the food. We always make it a point to get the beignets from Francaise when we come to Spokane, so on this trip we decided to stop in for dinner. Francaise has a warm inviting "dining room" vibe that gives comfort to its guest. The exposed brick, warm lighting and plants really set the tone for intentional conversation and intimate dinners. While we did come on a night that seemed like they were short staff, our servers were still checking in and very accommodating with how busy it was. We ordered the Pain Maison, Black Truffle French Fries, Risotto à la Forestière, Steak Frites*and Grand Marnier Croissant Bread Pudding. Pain Maison - 7/10 I think the bread was good, I do wish it had been a bit warmer and that there would have been a flavor to the butter. Black Truffle French Fries - 10/10 These were executed so well. The fries on their own carried a lot of flavor, and the truffle took it to another level. We could have easily eaten another basket. Risotto à la Forestière - 8/10 I stole a few bites off of my wife's plate. There were portions of the duck that were a bit dry, but overall it was very tasty. The risotto carried a lot of flavor and the white wine sauce finished everything nicely. Steak Frites - 7/10 I did end up switching my fries to the Robuchon potatoes because they sounded so good and they were. As far as the steak itself, it was cooked to perfection, but I did not enjoy the blue cheese-cognac butter like I thought I would have. There was a charred sweetness to it that I was not expecting (completely on me) and it made me wish I had just ordered the steak itself. Grand Marnier Croissant Bread Pudding - 9/10 The ice cream completely took this dessert to the stars! The Bread pudding in itself had a hard outer layer with a soft and flavorful inner layer, and the combination with the salted caramel ice cream was delicious.  I think that Francaise would be a great place to do Hors D'oeuvres along with drinks and dessert along with friends or for a date- I am curious to try their short rib and think I will make it a point to do so when we come back. read more

We have frequented Francaise on several occasions. The food, staff and ambiance are excellent. It's a great spot for date night, a celebration or solo excursion. Escargot, pate de champagne, salade lyonnaise, oeufs farcis, steak frites, croque madame and warm out of the oven beignets are just a few of our favorites. The only food item that left us scratching our heads was their delicious pommes frites with the addition of their house made truffle oil. We felt that a $7 upcharge during happy hour for the oil was excessive. The pommes frites are already delicious sans oil. read more

Been wanting to try this place and finally got the chance. This place was excellent! Went in on a Saturday at 4 and Happy Hour was still going which means we could try most of the dishes at lower prices. We started with a French red wine and baguette and French onion soup which was delicious. It was full of bread, cheese, onions and tasty broth. I had the Steak frites with a side of sauté mushrooms and roasted garlic. Delicious! Lots of tasty frites with a garlic aioli that I couldn't get enough of. The steak was medium rare just the way I like it. My husband got the croque madam which he loved. His came with roasted potatoes. We finished off with beignets- 3 good size with delicious strawberry jelly. Our sever Abi Y was so helpful with suggestions and made us feel welcome with great window seating without having any reservations. We enjoyed everything and look forward to returning. read more

My wife and I recently met five other family members at Francais for a Sunday morning brunch. The prices were high, the food was uninspired. My omellette arrived without any form of bread, so I ordered a croissant. Our wait for the meal, in the nearly empty restaurant, was long. Our servers were pleasant enough but indifferent. The biggest surprise and disappointment was our bill at meal's end. Without any previous disclosure, we were charged a pre-set 20% gratuity plus a 4% "order processing fee" that "supports our ability to serve you." Those charges plus sales tax, hiked the price of our dining by 33%. Ouch! read more

Why haven't I known about this restaurant before? Steak Tartare, Escargot, French Onion Soup, Steak Frites, Deviled Eggs and sturgeon roe. We will be coming back frequently. My husband and I had a killer dinner at Francaise a couple of weeks ago. The stand outs were the Limincello Spritz cocktail (fresh, zesty, and a little too easy to drink. Ha!) and the Steak and Frites. Easily the best steak I have ever had in a restaurant. It was a busy Thursday when we went, only two folks working front of house, and they were hustling! Super friendly, fast, and efficient. That being said, we could hear each other, enjoy our food, and didn't feel like we were packed in table to table. It created great vibes and ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyed late brunch at Francaise on a Saturday. I had their riff on the eggs benedict, and it was delightful. My wife's dish was also excellent, and our French press coffee was really solid. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and the wait staff was wonderful. First time dining here with family in celebrating my little sister's labcoat ceremony acceptance to med school was wonderful. The food was exquisite to my liking when I ordered the Macaroni Gratin Pasta noodles with Mushroom and Garlic to go with a Lemon Sage Delight Mocktail which was a perfect combo to go with my dinner meal while the rest of family ordered Le burger with side of fries. The service was not bad since it was overly crowded with lots of customers but we were able to seated with our family size at the table. We stopped in here after an outing to CdA (where we had a less than happy experience at the oyster bar) for an early dinner. My son and DIL are well traveled through Europe and love good food and I was not sure about the choice to eat here but I have to say this was a great choice. I can't remember what each of our menu items were called but they were all very tasty and the service was superb as well. We will definitely be back to this little Perry district establishment. Food at Francaise easily compares to restaurants I've eaten at in Paris, Leone and the food we were served on the Rhône river cruise. (We were the only Americans). We eat there regularly eat there. read more

I don't know if this will be the very best meal I have in 2026, but it will be a contender nonetheless!! I love to cook. It takes A LOT to get me out of my kitchen and trying someone else's food, but, the owner of this restaurant also owns the Gilded Unicorn and I KNEW, if I wanted good food, it was gonna be at either Adam Hegsted or Michael Wiley's restaurants. They're the only two I leave my kitchen for!!! We were here for the 10 year anniversary of the night my husband proposed. It was a random Wednesday, but Francaise still delivered. Ill start with the service, which was superb. The waiter saw I had put in a reservation and had our table set for us, against the wall and very private. Also very romantic. Loved it. The waiter was excellent throughout. Showing up at exactly the right times without being over bearing. We started with cocktails. The French press martini was not to be missed! Not too sweet and excellent flavor. Then I moved on to the French onion soup with gruyere cheese!!! I love it when its not made with Swiss. The broth had amazing flavor and the crust was perfection with all the melty delicious cheese! My husband had the duck which was excellent and I had the 4oz steak frites off the happy hour which was the perfect size after my soup. The steak was cooked perfectly and so much flavor! We each had a glass of cabernet with our meals and at the end, we threw caution to the wind and got two desserts! The caramel apple tart and the beignets! Cleaned both plates too. Zero leftovers on anything. It was just too good!! If you're a foodie and can't find anything good outside your own kitchen, but need to celebrate a special day, come here!! You wont be disappointed that you threw on pants and finally ventured past your own kitchen door. read more

Visiting my parents that live in Spokane, coming from Austin, TX. This is one of my favorite places in Spokane! Service was attentive and warm - amazing! Inside the restaurant is gorgeous, charming & green. Great music. Romantic at night with the hanging lights. The house bread is amazing, as are the warm olives. We shared the deviled eggs & the clams, both were 10 out of 10. For mains we ordered the steak frites & the coq au van chicken, both had fresh, quality ingredients and the flavors were developed. I don't normally write reviews but I loved this place, in the Perry St. district. Think everyone should try this for dinner, looking forward to coming back for brunch. read more

Worst service we've ever had, and we're in our 60s and go out to nice, upscale restaurants often. The two women working are oblivious to what constitutes good service. Aloof and rude. Food is rather bland (nothing French about it) and not worth the prices they charge. They should be embarrassed to call this place a French restaurant. The restaurant was lovely, our server was friendly and the perfect amount of attentive. Everything we ate was just sublime, I was doing my happy tummy dance basically the whole time. Started with cocktails, I had the South for the winter which was a smoked pineapple rum drink and my husband had an old fashioned with honeycomb but I forget what it was called. We shared the wild mushroom pate plate and got a second loaf of bread, I will be trying to recreate this dish at home. My pic of it is not great but holy moly, we wanted to lick the jar clean. Followed it with splitting the steelhead bouillabaisse dish with clams and potatoes. Cooked perfectly, tasted great. I would eat it again but want to try another entree the next time I'm in town. Dessert was a chocolate hazelnut terrine and my husband and I made sure to eat exactly half of it each and I may have threatened him with my fork when he tried to eat some of my share. I forgot to take a photo but 100% recommend. We were slightly stuffed even splitting that, and the drinks were strong - if I'd had another we would have needed to take a walk to sober up to drive home. read more

After looking at the menu online, my sister and I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday evening since she lived nearby. It's a cute and cozy establishment with a well done interior design. I ordered the burger and my sister the steak frites, with an upgrade to the truffle fries. All the food was delicious and the fries were superb. Even the sage lemonade my sister ordered was tasty, not too heavy on the sage (who would've thought of the combination!). My only complaint is about the upgrade fee for the truffle fries, a hefty $7. I would definitely come back to check out their brunch! read more

Great experience for my friends birthday! We tried the escargot for the first time and it was pretty good, for something that we were scared to try :) Our server Dan was amazing and had great wine knowledge! My partner and I visited Francaise for the first time last night. The ambiance is warm and welcoming while maintaining a chic vibe. I really love the plants at the entrance! Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He was knowledgeable about the menu and was more than happy to make drink recommendations (we had difficulty deciding). There was a large party seated near us so food took longer than expected but, goodness, it was fantastic! I ordered the goat cheese tart with mushrooms. The crust was perfect and the vegetables were roasted to perfection. My partner ordered the lyonnaise salad with the duck and the piece of duck I had from them was excellent. We finished off the night with some pillowy beignets straight from the fryer. Hope to visit again soon for another date night! read more

I have no idea, maybe this place is good for brunch, but their dinner offerings are expensive and average. We were a party of 6, let's get into it. We opened with bread and butter and pate. Good, though $8 for bread on a meal that was going to cost $100 a person seems petty. Our party ordered two mock tails. They weren't finished, even though it was a family situation and many people had a sip. They are sugary drinks, not good enough, not sophisticated at all. In the main course the ribeye steak special was bad. Pepper rub couldn't be tasted for most of the piece. The cooked vegetables well done, don't understand the salad on top. Not enough flavor, tough, maybe the worse dish I have had at a French restaurant? More a special at a diner for $12. The salmon with crispy skin was soggy, but the sauce was good. There were other main dishes ordered, the young lady with show the Mac and cheese really loved it. Dessert beignets were marginal, need to go to New Orleans and try some good ones. The crêpe was good. You can't be this expensive and put food this average on the table. I'm not going back, suggest you avoid this place. read more
