To summarize the entire nightmare this place wanted me to sign a stipulated judgment on a lawsuit…read morefiled by one of those debt buyers (who never attempted to contact me to advise they purchased) that had been dismissed 5 days prior! That reflects the zero effort put into my representation. When I had my initial meeting with them they summarized the same exact terms of the stipulations this was even after I gave him my financial profile as I'm retired living on Social Security with no additional income with both my income and bank account exempt from garnishing or levies. I was looking for a payment plan or settlement that included dismissal of this suit. I understand the representation was limited in scope & the attorney stated more than once the $796 I paid him was nothing & other firms would cost double for this but not to the point where there was zero effort in an attempt to negotiate which by the way per the retainer does include negotiating. Regardless of the back story the end result was this firm who was supposed to be representing me and my interests to some extent was pushing me on July 7th to sign a Stipulated Judgment on a case that had been dismissed on July 2nd. That's an enormous mistake.

My wife and I were forced into personal bankruptcy after a business failure during the credit crisis. We retained Preston Gardner at Davis Miles to represent us during an already stressful and financially devastating period. Unfortunately, major mistakes were made in handling our case. Among the most serious issues was the failure to properly file a Motion to Compel Abandonment, which nearly resulted in us losing our home. In addition, reaffirmation agreements on an auto loan and second mortgage that we continued paying flawlessly were not properly handled, causing avoidable damage to our credit reports. The fallout from these mistakes was significant. We ultimately had to hire a different bankruptcy attorney to repair the damage and correct the problems created during the process. In total, the errors cost us approximately $30,000. Thankfully, with competent legal help, we were eventually able to protect our home and stabilize our situation. However, the experience with Davis Miles added unnecessary financial harm and stress during one of the most difficult periods of our lives. I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm to do extensive research and carefully evaluate their options before proceeding.

The representation was decent depending on the lawyer. However, I recently called regarding a property lien and I spoke to two different attorneys. They both told me to tell the title company to ignore the lien because it is not a valid lien. What law firm would think that a title company whose only job is to guarantee a clean title would just ignore a lien??? Alien is a legal issue that needs to be handled legally. When I called back a third time insisting I needed legal representation they indicated they could not help me, they refused to even refer an attorney, so I could not even hire one of their attorneys if I wanted to. Luckily I have a client who is an attorney at Goodman Law who once contacted immediately located documentation that the lien was invalid and got it removed from our title LEGALLY.
