We moved back to the Edwardsville area from Nashville during the start of the pandemic. I was on a mission to find a substitute for my favorite Thai place back in TN, and this place doesn't disappoint! We are frequent customers and the flavors and portions are always consistent and amazing. I haven't had anything I didn't like. I typically get curry or basil fried rice, but other dishes are amazing too (my favorites are one of their salmon offerings 'pla sam ros' or their steak dish 'crying tiger'). We have only had one instance of having the rice left off of our order. More our fault for not checking the bag before leaving the restaurant. We just made a quick batch at home instead of driving back. They have otherwise been great every time we have ordered takeout. Some nights are busier and I'm certain they have experienced staffing issues and food supply challenges just like most restaurants now a days. I our experience, it has never affected the quality of the food. Happy to have great Thai restaurant in the area without having to drive to St. Louis and will continue to support this local business. read more

This place was truly disappointing. I was with 1 other person and only a few moments after we were seated I noticed how loud it was in the restaurant. There were really no soft surfaces to absorb sound so I was catching pieces of everyone's conversation. We decided on the 2 for $30 menu. After our waiter took the order our spring roll appetizer came out about 5 minutes later and before either of us even had a chance to touch the spring rolls the waiter brought my entree out. Less than a minute after the appetizer. The spring rolls were tasty, though it was easy to tell they had been simply reheated. I was a bit thrown off that my entree arrived essentially at the same time as the appetizers and I waited for the other entree to arrive. It didn't arrive for almost another 10 minutes which is absolutely ridiculous. Bringing out 2 entrees at the same time isn't a miracle or even a feat. The entrees were good and yummy, just what I expected. Finally the single piece of cheesecake came out for dessert. The waiter informed us that of the 3 flavor options for cheesecake they were out of 1, so we picked from 2. We chose the Turtle cheesecake. THE WAITER BROUGHT THE PIECE OF CHEESECAKE OUT TO US COVERED IN FROST. cheesecake is supposed to be served chilled, not frozen! He also let us know that they were out of the caramel topping for the turtle cheesecake. So of our 3 flavor choices they only had enough ingredients for 1. Besides the food and timing being dreadful, the waiter we had only checked back with us 1 time between receiving the entrees and receiving the check. I will not be back. One of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to! The pad Thai and orange chicken were the best I've ever had. We also had crab Rangoons and they were amazing! I have tried many Thai restaurants and this one exceeded my expectations by far. Luke has never tried Thai food before and he was so impressed! The food is pretty spicy so get a lower spice level than you think. The atmosphere was modern and trendy and our waitress was very friendly. I am so excited to go back and try more items. We have ordered to go from Bann Thai twice in the last couple of months. The ordering on the website never quite worked but ordering by phone worked just fine. The pad Thai, pad see ewe, steamed dumplings and spring rolls were all amazing. So delicious every single time! I appreciate the consistency of the spice level as I'm not all that tolerant to spice. The drunken noodles with chicken or shrimp are to die for every time. I always try to look for local places when I travel for work. Found this gem and it was fantastic. Had the steamed pork dumplings (excellent). I am a huge fan of green curry (am pretty critical) and they did not disappoint. The "heat" level I asked for was perfect and the serving size was crazy. What a pleasant surprise! My Bud and I both had drunken noodles with shrimp. You can customize to your own level of comfort with amount of heat to each dish. Here are my favorites: Steak and spinach (Cry Tiger), Steak salad, Pad Roumit, Pineapple Fried Rice, Tom Kha (soup-adding extra meat), Mango cheesecake, Fried Banana, and Jasmine tea (that drops my blood pressure by 40 points-should show you pics from my mobile & blood pressure cuff that I travel with). My daughters and I have some food allergies, so we love to order the chicken Pad Thai with no gluten, eggs, or peanuts and have never had any sort of reaction. Their papaya salad is the best I have had in the midwest, and for the prices, I doubt my husband and I will ever go to another Thai place again. The bleach scent filling the room kills any appetite that you came inside with, and service is very slow. There isn't real consistency between dishes. You could order the same thing twice and they will be completely different. Also the spice levels don't match what you put in the order. Honestly there are better thai places to choose from. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered soup, Larb, and jasmine tea. The tea was tepid, barely lukewarm, and flavorless...because the water wasn't warm enough to steep the tea. The soup came with a choice of chicken, grilled vegetables, or tofu. I chose grilled vegetables, and while the soup itself was hot, flavorful, and well spiced, there were no grilled vegetables. The vegetables were raw and dumped in the soup, they were not even chopped properly. There were huge raw chunks of broccoli and bell pepper that wouldn't even fit in my mouth. And then there was the Larb...horrendous!! The beef was so salty it was inedible, it actually burned my mouth. When I told the server about the poor flavor, he was apologetic and took it off the bill, although he also tried to tell me that it was supppsed to taste that way...fyi, I've had that dish over 20 times in authentic Thai restaurants and it is definitely not supposed to taste that way!! This place was phenomenal. We ordered the pad Thai and red curry lunch specials. Each came with a delicious soup and two crab Rangoons. The pad Thai was perfect. Chicken was moist, noodles were firm and the portion (especially for lunch) was large. The curry was delicious as well. Lots of food and lots of the delicious coconut flavored pleasantly spiced curry. My wife and I both reserved the Thai chili dipping sauce from the rangoons for extra flavor but didn't need it at all for either entree. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and nicely lit and the service was great as well. This place has only been open a month but it's about to become our go to dine out location and we can't wait to tell everyone we know to come here. read more

The portions here are huge and very flavorful. However our initial and only visit, they seemed understaffed with one waitress. The wait time was pretty long to order and received food/drink but it wasn't very packed I was able to see she was trying her best to accommodate everyone. We love this place - food is pretty consistent but service could be better. Whenever we come they seem to be always short staffed. Long wait to be greeted and seated. Long wait for water. No refills on water. And long wait for our check. I've witnessed people leaving because they were not greeted in a timely manner. Love thai food, had been ordering delivery from here this year since discovering it. First time had a bad doordash experience (not restaurants fault), but other times pretty decent. Until today. Place a lunch order for delivery with waitress, no problems. Voicemail pops up on my phone around time of delivery saying owner will not fulfill order to our address any longer. I call them back, wanting to ensure we arent charged - but didnt get a chance to even ask. Devin the owner starts yelling on the phone that he called three times and is writing up his staff for taking delivery orders like this. I feel awful for the waitress if this is how a customer was treated....he is so angry we are hung up on. I call back since I have not confirmed the card was refunded, and am told we are banned from his restaurant and hung up on. I have no choice but to call back so I can confirm refund. We were charged but also refunded and that's all I needed. I get it that people have bad days and there's a mix up that happened when we placed the order due to new policies, but customers should never be treated this way. We will continue to support small businesses and restaurants as always, unfortunately, just not this one. A shame because food was decent and it had become our go to. read more
