I brought my son, who is under one year old, to the ER at approximately 10:55 p.m. on August 18th after he began projectile vomiting and appeared noticeably unwell. After checking in, we waited in the lobby for approximately 45 minutes. While the wait was understandably frustrating, I remained patient because my primary concern was making sure my son was evaluated and received the care he needed. Once we were taken into a room, the doctor came in and began examining my son. After listening to his lungs, the doctor told me that my son could potentially have COVID-19 but stated that there was no need to confirm this with testing. I was then told that my son appeared completely healthy, that they would perform a saline flush, and that we would be sent home. As a concerned parent, I felt that something was not right. My instincts led me to contact my son's pediatrician and have him evaluated again as soon as possible. On Wednesday morning, I immediately contacted his pediatrician, who examined him and tested him for COVID-19. Thankfully, that test was negative. However, because his lungs did not sound healthy, his pediatrician ordered a respiratory panel. The results showed that my son was positive for pneumonia and rhinovirus. I am extremely disappointed and concerned by this experience. I understand that emergency departments are busy and that doctors have to make decisions based on the information available to them at the time. However, I do not feel that my son's condition was thoroughly evaluated before we were told that he was healthy enough to be sent home. As a parent, it is extremely frightening to bring your sick child to the ER expecting them to be carefully evaluated, only to later discover that they were dealing with a more serious illness. This is especially concerning because this is not the first negative experience I have had with this hospital involving an incorrect or incomplete diagnosis. I sincerely hope the hospital takes concerns like this seriously and evaluates how these situations are handled. Patients and their families deserve to feel that their concerns are being heard and that their health and safety are the priority--not that they are simply another patient being processed and sent home. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone who has the option to seek care elsewhere to consider doing so. I truly hope the hospital takes the necessary steps to improve patient care and ensure that other families do not experience what we did. read more

I went to goldfield banner 15 days ago for an e-bike accident. I also was unfortunately sewed up by Jay, and Jay seemed to be annoyed that I was hurt, and it shows in his work. I was cut open from my nostril to the top of my lip and Jay had me sewn up in less then 10 min. His sutures left 3 very painful keloids under my nose. And 1/2 my lip gone. Jay has no business giving anyones face stitches. He doesn't care about his patients, his bedside manner left me feeling like a bother, his work is messy and I think he's tired of his job, it shows in his face, his work, and his attitude. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place especially if you need any kind of stitches because Jay doesn't care about you or your wound and it will show by the time it heals how much he really cares. They likely see many people on some of their worst days and the care I received was truly remarkable in allowing me to make a recovery from not tolerating a new medication. This hospital doesn't do anything to find what's wrong with someone who comes into the er. My fiancé has gone there twice. He went about a year ago because he had a small seizure and passed out. Then when the fire dept came his blood pressure was extremely low. Of course they didn't find anything or try more testing or even a f ing referral somewhere else. They just say it's "anxiety", yet this started over a year ago and is associated with food. The past few months these episodes now come almost every night or day. They used to come maybe twice a month. All they do is a blood test and pee test. They don't do anything further. Pre diabetes and hyperthyroidism runs in his family yet they didn't think to check for those things or feel his thyroid glands. So sick of hospitals and Dr not doing their job and just pushing it off like it's nothing. His symptoms are extreme when these episodes happen and they should be concerned. This isn't normal for it just being anxiety. He has had panic attacks in the past. Pretty sure after you eat ice cream or pretty much anything you don't immediately or a few hours later get nauseous (or throw up, chills, paleness, shaking, disoriented, freaking out, extreme stomach pains and bowel issues when it's "anxiety". These episodes wake him up in the middle of the night. Clearly there is something with blood sugar or another issue. It's sad that you have to advocate for yourself and be stern to get real testing done. Luckily for them I wasn't able to be there to advocate. He was out of it and sleeping there from what I heard. Ridiculous. Do not go here unless you have something extremely minor or actual panic attacks. read more

Both my mom & grandma were admitted to this hospital on Saturday 7/12, I was there for about 4 hours or more, they got zero answer to what was wrong with them. My mom went in for blood clot issues which she knows how it feels and when it's happening and they told her she did not have any, but now we are at banner health in the city and she has MULTIPLE blood clots so much so that she could lose her foot! You can't tell me they did not see this on any scans. Horrible. And my grandma was also back in the hospital for an ulcer that has been bleeding since Saturday when she was in this er! I don't know if they just want patients to be in and out but it's unacceptable to not listen to your patients when they know their own bodies and that something is wrong! I recently had to make a trip to the ER. Although a trip to the ER cannot be fun, I have to say that the ER staff here made it as pleasant as possible. The nurses were kind and really seemed to care that I was in pain and they worked quickly to make me as comfortable as possible. The ER doctor was also top notch. this is an update than earlier review on June 27th where I was sent home being told there was nothing wrong with me. I guess having stage 3 kidney failure and a severe vitamin D deficiency is nothing to the attending physician who saw me. He should not be a doctor, not be allowed to interact with patients at all. if you'd have looked at the tests you should have instead of doing ones not authorized, you might have caught on to the fact that there's something wrong with me. Absolute waste of time... plus the attending dr. in the ER does tests you did not give consent to do. which can be considered invasion of privacy, goes against HIPPA and his saying there's nothing wrong with me and dismissing me after I sat there for almost 4 hours could be medical malpractice. Especially if it turns out I'm right about something being wrong with me. I know my body and know when its not right and I know what infection is. He never even took a swab of the fluid that was in question. Im going to consult with a lawyer as I feel my health wasn't a concern of any of the staff and I was given medication for nausea, etc. But I never complained of nausea, etc. My complaints weren't fully listened to and no one actually went over lab results for what I came in for. I had severe sciatica pain that ran from my lower back down both legs, it's an ongoing issue, but when I get bad I have to seek an ER to relieve my pain. The last 2 visits the ER doctors treated me with simple, logical medicine without a holding pattern of x-rays & lab work & treated my symptoms with a Tordal shot. They also sent me home with lidocaine patches & a steroid pack. I was in & out within 2 hours. read more

Please do not go to this hospital. They don't care about you and will waste your time. I went in there this morning cause I having very very heavy blood flow. I was scared and I was vomiting. I was vomiting during my time there and afterwards. The vomiting ended up getting worse after I went home. I was severely dehydrated. So I went back to the hospital. When I got there I told them I am still vomiting and it's getting worse. I was getting to a point of non stop vomiting. The staff told me I need to take medications that go in my mouth. I told them that I unfortunately cant keep anything down. They also tried giving me meds that don't work for me. They still made me take the meds that don't work. Once I went to take the meds orally, I was vomiting. I vomit immediately once the meds start to de-solve in my mouth. I told the nurse I couldn't keep it down and I was vomiting it up. The nurse then asked "did you spit it out" I told her no. I didn't spit it out. I couldn't keep anything down. The nurse then proceeded to give me a different medicine to take orally. I told them I couldn't keep anything down. They still tried to get to take the medication orally. I actually ended up leaving and going to a different hospital. The different hospital I went to, actually listened to me. They saw I was dehydrated and my lips were pale. So the different hospital I went to, actually gave me fluids, and meds through the IV, so I would finally stop vomiting. My boyfriend witnessed this all as well and he is even appalled at the service I got. Don't waste your time here and please drive the extra distance to a different hospital. read more

This hospital is back to being hit and miss my last 3 visits went like this. I had to write down my name and Social Security number (seems legit right?) because their computers were, down, I had a migraine that was the first thing I said, part of my migraines mean I can't see well, I complied with the request and was told that I wrote my SSN wrong and there was an extra digit. I just said it verbally because really how is it more secure on a random paper. I was then told that I wrote a 4 wrong and that was why she didn't understand. Yes, I the patient wrote my own SSN wrong, the receptionist couldn't have just not been able to read it but also they felt the need to tell me that I did it wrong and have a discussion about it, rather then moving on with the process. Once I got to the back the whole staff was just weird, it took 2 people to do my IV and it was just odd the whole thing. Next visit for a UTI went fine, reception was nice, checked me in, I went back staff was fine. The only weird thing was I was giving pills rather then an IV even though I said I was nauseous but that's a small thing and maybe if I had asked it would've been different. Dr seemed to genuinely care about my overall health (it's terrible and lot's of chronic issues and specialists). Desi was really nice and made me comfortable with a blanket, adjusted the bed and gave me the call button right off the bat. My last visit, reception was great, very efficient. But then the nurse who took me back told me good morning (small thing but really...I'm in the ER), didn't have me do the scale, didn't tell me her name, did go over my file in the computer, no blanket, didn't adjust the bed, and didn't give me the call button. Summer who did my IV was pleasant and professional and clearly introduced herself. Besides being told there were cups in the bathroom and to pee in one, I wasn't told anything about how treatment was going to go, by the doctor who also didn't look at my file. Someone named Vicky came in and gave me a blanket and the call button and adjusted my pulse and blood pressure cuff. The CT Scan guy (he did introduce himself I just don't remember his name) came in and took me to a CT scan I didn't know I was getting. More waiting, so long that my mom came back to sit with me because it was taking so long, the Dr then opened the door asked if she could talk in front of my "guest" and then shouted my information from the door into my room...I mean I only said she could tell my mom not the whole ER but whatever. Part of this little interaction was her telling me my blood was good...which we both found interesting, so I looked it up on my phone, it was not good, it was the same as usual with a high WBC, no doctor in 5 years has said my bloodwork looks good. I was only given fluids, nothing for the pain or nausea that brought me in, I was there for 6 hours for nothing. I was not thrilled when I left, I did not feel like this Dr cared about anything at all and that was clearly reflected in some of her staff. I will be going to a non Banner hospital after this. read more

I had a severe infection on my finger. The female doctor didn't really look at the wound and acted like I wanted pain pills. I wanted antibiotics to clear the infection and she wouldn't listen. My infection worsened severely because she wouldn't help me. Finding good care in AJ is difficult. Stay away from here if you want to be healthy. read more

I was sent to the ER after a tele-health video call with a doctor. It was not busy so they took me right in. Everyone I had contact with was very professional, compassionate and helpful. I went in for one thing and during routine tests uncovered a potentially more serious issue. Dr. Lehnhof explained everything to me in terms I could understand, explained additional tests, conferring doctors, and made me feel more relaxed about what was going on. This was my first visit to this ER,which happened several years ago. I got out of the shower that day and just didn't feel right. I hadn't been feeling well,so I called my niece for a ride to the hospital. Just a few years earlier, I had had a ruptured brain aneurysm and was trying to listen to my body better. My niece took me to this ER and dropped me off. I finally got to the back, and the "nurse " took my blood pressure. It's 225/183, she said, so you're fine???!!! I just about called for an ambulance right there, because I knew that wasn't "fine " that was impending stroke or heart attack, or another aneurysm coming. I decided right then and there that I have to be my own self advocate at any hospital or medical facility. read more

This hospital organization is corrupt to the core!! Never saw a dr was told to leave and they now tell me since I checked in I have to pay!! Criminals ! Last time I checked in I was put in a room at the Baywood Hospital one and they left me for 9 hrs I was sound asleep lights were turned off and no one in site where they put me and banner made me pay for NOTHING to called corporate and they said too bad so sad almost go to dignity health honest hospital for sure. My mom went to this ER after being told she couldn't be fit in by her physician's office, and I am so glad she did this! They very promptly and accurately diagnosed her, and continued to treat her for four days because the hospital her physician referred her to be transferred to didn't have any open beds. She is very paranoid about IV placements due to bad past experiences, and they did an excellent job at placing it in a functional position (for her) with minimal "torture", as she calls it. If I could give a zero I would. I was admitted Saturday with a very quick onset fever, neck pain, ears burning etc. The ambulance crew judged me and kept pushing drug issue. Once I was received at Goldfield none of them checked anything I was complaining about. They did bloodwork, gave 2 bags of fluids and potassium. I had lost a baby in August and came in saying my pregnancy test was positive. Then they let me go. Still high fever and sent antibitiocs to pharmacy but had no indication why I had a fever. I became severely worse the next day and ended up going back to a non banner hospital with worse and different symptoms. Pus in my throat, chest pains, and neck pain on both sides at that point. They found my tonsils, lymphnodes were swollen with signs of infection in my left lung. where banner said my wbc count was normal its was in the 18.5 range at the good hospital. Banner Goldfield's judgemental attitudes and negligence and pure laziness could have killed me. Due to them I am not all the way better because I was not treated properly. They never once looked at anything I was complaining about pain wise. The tests that were run on me at the great hospital I should say show so many not good abnormalities. Do not go to this hospital unless you are ready to be condemned by people who took a oath to treat any and all to the best of their abilities. Thankfully, I did not lose my life due to their negligence, I just pray the source is located quickly now so I can be treated. Unless you are elderly, do not expect to be treated fairly. read more

i highly recommend this facility and all of its staff. I was brought in due to the inability to breathe because of preexisting condition. Everyone of the staff went overboad to keep me calm and make me as comfortable as possible. I spent 3 days there and the nurses, technicians and doctors went out of their way to take care of my medical needs. read more

Update: I contacted the email address in the banner response and received a call today regarding this review. Not that it changed anything and I am still on the hook for over $2000 for 10 minutes and a drop of glue. Just waiting for the bill at this point The doctor deemed it a level 3 visit so that's what stands. Banner might wanna look into that as I am posting the definitions of The different levels of ER visit and the key components of each. There was no expanded problem focus history or examination, it was a finger. Not sure that I agree that it's moderately complex to decide a soak and a drop of glue is necessary, and there was no coordination of care with another provider. I am not a "Karen" by any means, just a regular person trying to get a corporation to acknowledge a billing error and correct it... Unsuccessfully.... Unless you are on Medicare or AHCCS do not visit this location. We did receive good care tho. We were at the location for 31 minutes, arrived just after midnight... my daughter had sliced her finger with a mandolin And I wasn't sure if she would need stitches ....they soaked her finger in saline for 10 minutes and literally put a drop of glue on her fingernail . Their billing system was down when We left but the lady at the front desk told me it would probably be a couple hundred dollars. I received my EOB And my insurance was billed for a complex visit - they also attempted to bill an extra charge for after 2 AM ? negotiated insurance rate $1667 and another $395 for the doctor. Just Over $2k I've disputed this charge as I had just paid The same amount for an actual complex visit at the Cardon children's location One month prior. We were there that day for 7 hours- blood tests, ultrasound, x-rays, IVs etc - same amount $1667 And the doctor bill was actually $356 for that visit....separate bill for all the imaging of course... total was around $2300... That was a complex visit I have followed up twice with Banner so far on the "finger visit" and I've confirmed that her medical records show what was done ... I have been told their audit department says the visit was billed correctly... I have yet to see a bill but I disagree ... The majority of the people seen at this location (per the lady at the front desk) are older people and addicts - people with no skin in the game and don't actually have to pay so I guess they can bill whatever they want to... Shes had a numbing solution on her cut for an hr now and nothing has been done to evaluate her or treat her. Do not come here. After having severe chest pains and vomiting, I called 911. I wasn't having the heart attack I suspected, but the next day I had many concerning symptoms: light-headed, dizzy, numb hands and feet, a horrible headache, freezing cold, and I had lost 10 pounds in two weeks. I called my primary care's office and was advised to go the ER. I am only 5 minutes away from Banner Goldfield, so that's where I chose to go, to my regret. What are your expectations when going to the ER? An hour's wait? Two hours? Three? What about 3-1/2 hours? Because that's how long I sat in their freezing cold waiting room before being let into the inner sanctum, where I sat another hour and was never seen. To be fair, in the intervening time, I did get an x-ray, a CT scan, and blood tests, however, since I never saw a doctor, I got no answers about my condition nor any outcomes of those tests. Along the way I repeatedly asked the front desk guy what the eta was to be seen and kept getting the cop-out answer "as soon as possible". I told them I was running out of patience and was going to leave if I wasn't seen soon. The response from the healthcare "professional" there was "have a nice night" in the most uncaring, dismissive, smug tone, which translates to "we don't give a shi+". While I waited and waited and waited, none of the staff who passed me by over and over again ever made eye contact and ignored me as if I was invisible. I finally asked, once again, when I could expect to be seen by the doctor. I was lectured to, being told "this happens every winter. Long wait times and only two doctors". So... if this happens every winter, they should expect it and staff up the doctors to be able to provide CARE to PATIENTS who are HUMAN BEINGS. I mean, I know I'm not a God who walks on water like the doctors seem to think they are, but my time is as valuable as theirs is. In the facility, I noticed several posters warning patients that verbal abuse would not be tolerated. I wondered, at first, why such posters were necessary, as I had never seen such a thing in any other ER in my life. Now, after this abysmal experience, I completely understand why patients would be verbally abusive to these unempathetic workers, who have supposedly entered the health care profession because they care about people....or is it they care about your money? Unless you want to spend your day camped out in an environment where your health, time, and comfort are completely put on the back burner, DON'T USE THIS EMERGENCY ROOM!!!!!!! read more

I am writing this review for my mother and brother because they do not have access to a computer currently. Last night, my brother injured his hand. He was bleeding profusely, so my mother took him to this poor excuse of a hospital. When they arrived, they sat down in the waiting room at the ER. My brother was bleeding all over the floor and instead of giving my brother something to wipe the floor with, he had to wipe the floor up with the towel he was using to keep blood from spilling out. They all stood around and watched while he bled on the floor trying to wipe up his blood; not doing anything to assist or help him in any way. After some time, my mother asked why they haven't taken him back in the room yet. Clearly, he lost a lot of blood at this point and was getting weaker by the minute! The ruuuuuuude lady in triage said, "We need to take flu patients first." My mom, confused by this comment, said "But he's bleeding all over the place. His hand is cut up really bad!" and the lady said "Ma'am, we get people in here without a FACE. He can wait. HE'LL LIVE!" So tell me, in what world does it make sense to take a patient back who has the flu over somebody who is losing mass amounts of blood, huh? My mom didn't get this nurse's name so unfortunately, I cannot call her out by name for being the scum of the earth (lucky you, lady!) but if she reads this, all I can say is this: You should feel ashamed. SHAME. ON. YOU. Shame, shame, shame. After waiting for an hour or so (still bleeding, mind you) my mom said F this and drove over to Banner Baywood and they took my brother back almost immediately. My mom explained to the nurses there how the nurse at Goldfield treated my brother and my mother and the nurses at Baywood looked SHOCKED. She just couldn't believe they didn't take my brother back immediately. So, remember this, folks! Unless you're missing your entire face, do not go to this hospital! Even if you're bleeding profusely, they will take flu patients with a little bit of a fever over your bloody self. Even if my brother was missing his face, they'd still probably make him wait because a cough is apparently worse than a chopped up, bloody hand so clearly a fever is probably a lot worse than a missing face. Good logic, there, Goldfield! Very good logic, indeed. Avoid at all costs, even if it's closer. Go to Banner Baywood. That extra couple of minutes driving will take a lot less time than waiting in the Goldfield waiting room, I can assure you that. Reading the comments on here, I'm not the only one mentioning this type of behavior. Looks like one specific woman keeps getting called out in the reviews so I am guessing that is the same B that said that to my brother and mother. Who knows, though! I had an episode in the middle of the night in which I collapsed, twisted both my knees, sprained my ankle and hit my head leaving a large bump. I went to this emergency room in which I received horrible service. They literally did nothing for me. I was there about an hour and then they let me go home. I ended up going to my primary care the next day. My doctor diagnosed me as having a seizure. He sent me for a CT of my head to make sure I didn't have a concussion. I also ended up going for x-rays of my knees and ankles as I could barely walk. I also got a referral to a neurologist. I will never go to this hospital again. I had Covid and the doctor refused to give me Paxlovid. That was on Saturday, so I couldn't see my pcp. Sunday I was sicker than a dog and I suffered... Monday my pcp was able to see me and I tested positive. So she gave me Paxlovid. The er doctor tested me and I was positive but refused to treat me.
