Had a poor experience. Only reason for 2 stars is the check in and reception process was efficient. After that the experience was poor. Went there on a Sunday afternoon at about 430. After getting checked in for a possible broken elbow, vitals were taken and MD examined. We were told the xray tech was in with someone and we would be next. We sat there for over an hour (I can't imagine one set of X-rays took an hour). X-rays were finally taken in less than 5 mins. Then after sitting another 30 mins, I asked how long it would be until someone could look at the xray. I was told "this is the part that takes a while" and that I "was lucky they were still on the day schedule because the night time wait time can be up to 4 hours." We waited about 20-30 mins then asked again how long it would be. They couldn't give me a TAT so we got up and left. We were there for over 2.5 hours to have 3 X-rays taken. And who knows how much longer it would have taken to have someone read the X-rays. I don't believe there were a large number of patients there at the time. The parking lot only had a few cars, waiting room was empty and the nurses desk outside the exam room had the same nurses/techs/MDs sitting there our entire wait. Their website says little to no wait. How healthcare should be. That was not my experience at all. read more

I had some digestive issues and wanted to make sure it wasn't serious. Every one from the office person who checked me in, to Megan who took my vitals, to Mike in Radiology to Dr. Ross Dechant, were excellent! I never go to any other hospital or urgent or ER care. In fact the first time I went there I was in so much pain. They didn't treat me like I was crazy or something else. And in fact they were the ones to discover my MS. (I am fine now) however I've been back for a debilitating migraine. And also the flu. And recently something in my stomach. All in the last five years. I never EVER had better care at an ER. The staff doctors and nurses are extremely caring and thorough. They look for everything. You can't be admitted here but if needed they can transfer you depending on the seriousness. I tell everyone to go here I instead of the regular er. Visited due to eye injury. Stained my eye and was in and out super quick. Problem is I explained it felt like there was something in the upper lid. The only way to make it feel better was to hold my upper lid open. Dr told me I had a minor scratch on the eye and sent me home with drops. Throughout the day the pain was excruciating! I knew something wasn't right and this was more than a small corneal scratch. I found an optometrist later that day that came into her office on Labor Day weekend on emergency. She found something in my upper lid that was constantly scratching my eye and caused so much further damage. What makes it even better was I just received the bill from PHX ER for out of pocket expense not covered by insurance for additional $521.97. Insurance paid $2457. So they made 3k on a 20 minute visit and didn't even listen to me to diagnose the issue. I had so much further damage to my eye because you couldn't take the time to listen or just look in my upper eye lid! Thank you for doing absolutely nothing to help when I needed it. I would not trust this facility if we ever have an emergency again. read more

Nobody wants to go to an ER, but when you do have to go- why wouldn't you want to go somewhere clean, efficient, convenient, and with great patient care???! I am an absolute stickler for customer service and I was really impressed with the staff and care I received at this location. The person at the front desk was courteous and answered all of our questions. The nurse, Caitlin, was refreshingly kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Dechant was fantastic with his bedside manner and explanations and didn't make me feel rushed or unheard. The radiologist was super friendly and quick too! Overall it wasn't a bad experience. My only complaint is with the girl with the long eyelashes that draws your blood for testing. She left a bruise in my arm that was hard for a few days and it's been almost a month and I'm still somewhat bruised. There was a newer guy who put the IV in my other arm and he did better and was actually more gentle. Go figure. read more

My nurse, molly, came and brought me back about 4 mins after check in. Molly... what a sweet and generally nice person. She was excellent! My doctor, Dr. Stockton, was personable and very thorough. My experience at the hospital was far from pleasant, which is disappointing considering I have been to this location before and had a better experience. I'm not sure what has changed, but the level of compassion has certainly declined. Per my doctor's request, I visited the ER after having a knee revision surgery just eight days prior. I was experiencing severe pain in my leg and knee and had been running a fever for the last four days. We arrived around 9 PM, but I can't recall the exact time. The receptionist barely acknowledged me and didn't ask if I needed a wheelchair, even though it was clear I was struggling with a walker. When I was called back by the nurse, she was not kind at all. She didn't offer a wheelchair, didn't hold the door open, and simply told me to follow her as she walked quickly down the hall, leaving me struggling to keep up and catch my breath. In the room, while taking my vitals, she interrupted me repeatedly as I tried to explain why I was there, and she did the same to my partner. She grilled me about my pain medications, which felt irrelevant given my fever and leg pain, and then she walked out while I was still talking. The doctor on call eventually came in and said she wasn't sure if they had an ultrasound technician on site and might need to refer me elsewhere. She left to check, then returned to say they did have a technician and that they would take me to a room. Once there, the nurse threw a robe on the bed and walked out without offering to help me get on the bed. My partner had to help me change and get settled. The nurse returned, said nothing, put in an IV, and left again, saying it would be about 30 minutes before the ultrasound technician arrived. The ultrasound technician was very nice, which was a relief amidst all the negativity. While waiting, I needed to use the restroom. I pressed the button for assistance, and the same unkind nurse came in without saying a word. I told her I needed to use the restroom; she turned on the light, unhooked my IV, and left as I struggled to get out of bed, shaking from a fever that had not been addressed. She didn't come back to check on me, and my partner was not there, so I had to reach for my walker with my toes. As I was making my way to the restroom, I saw the nurse eating at her desk, not offering any help or concern. After I returned to the room, the doctor finally came back, did what she needed to do, and then the nurse handed me the checkout folder, removed my IV, and left without a word. By this point, all I wanted was to leave and go home. If I could call my insurance to refuse payment for such a horrible and uncaring experience, I would. To the nurse on call that night, if you dislike your job that much, perhaps you shouldn't be there. I understand that nursing is a tough job, and I sympathize with the challenges you face, but compassion goes a long way in the medical field. Did less than an urgent care would've. Didn't even take my temp. Dr. Stump refused to look at my medical history... Like actually looked away from it & said that he wasn't going to look at the document that listed all of my chronic issues that are diagnosed & play a huge factor in basic care during situations like this. Concerning to say the least. Lab work completed was also less than general urgent cares would've completed which is odd. The guy who took my blood draw & provided actual levels of care during the brief visit was great with what he was able to do & gave us the time of day. Doctor Stump refused to listen, made it clear he had better things to do & mostly all we heard was info regarding the bill, from start through leaving. Dr. Stump is an egotistical jerk who did less than the bare minimum in every regard, even regarding listening skills which were intentionally lacking. Just didn't care & made that clear & was decidedly lacking. Small place with the one doctor & only a few other staff when we went. Came because of 1) necessity of course, 2) location & 3) high rating, hoping to understand better what was going on. My levels of ketones were higher there than before going in - going in for fear of DKA & leaving with a reading of at least 4. If he had cared any less he wouldn't have shown up to make an appearance I guess... Just bleak. Was told I'd done everything I should've for caring for my ketoacidosis & glucose levels that weren't responding to insulin for about a day but I didn't go in to be complimented. I feel at least as horrible as going in. I just don't understand the level of egoism that prevents medical care from happening. I'm not one to care about temperatures being taken but the fact that even that wasn't shows how far they are from baseline adequate medical basics. Disconcerting. I visited this place after reviewing their website, their pricing and their pricing policies on their website and the fact that they stress "No surprise a t of 2022" I truly thought I was going into this office visit fully informed. They took my insurance, no surprise billing, no balance due billing...SURPRISE! They did just that. I received a bill for over $7500 for a visit that consisted of less than two hours, a CT scan and blood test. A CT scan on their website is $400. I am blown away that they can bill $7500 for a two hour visit. My insurance paid almost $900. They are now billing me for the balance. My understanding is that this is "balance billing" which they claim on their website they do not do. I called the billing department and beyond RUDE. Simply cold as ice, you owe this, pay it now. My insurance company says they simply cannot do this using the exact law that was created that they re siting. Simply irresponsible business practice for a company that was formed to take away these stresses. My one star is based on the billing practice and the collection agency mentality when simply trying to discuss. It has no reflection of the folks providing the medical services. However unless you can afford to pay an Urgent Care service upwards to $75 per MINUTE I would certainly think twice. read more

Amazing. No wait time, very friendly staff. I came in with horrible gallbladder pain, they sent me right to a room. They took care of my pain in under 30 minutes and then moved on to some test. I was there for about 4 hours because some test look a little bit longer, but it really felt like no time at all. The staff is very attentive. I would not recommend this place. In the 36 years I have been alive I've never received an 8,000 bill sent to my ins for being seen for the flu. A year later I received my bill and after my ins JUST FOR THE FACILITY was 900.00. I am still waiting for the bill for the PROVIDER who was apparently out of network but the facility was. Makes no sense they way they bill. I had the flu last year and bill with deductible was 85.00. This has been such an issue especially loosing time at work due to Covid and have MORE bills now. First time visiting today for a COVID-19 test, no one was in the waiting area so we were helped right away. They took photos of our ID and insurance and we gave them some info, then right away the nurse saw us back. She took vitals and did the test (all the way in the back of the nose!) and we were told we'd get our results in 30 mins. We had to wait 20 mins to see the doctor, they said he was busy, but when he came in he was friendly and took the time to check us out as well. Super kind staff and friendly people, easy experience, and we got our results fast. read more

I can't say enough about this hospital and staff! My family over Christmas faced the horrible Covid-19 as it inadvertently entered our house to find out at Christmas dinner we were exposed we went to this ER and they processed us so nicely and expediently. My son (and daughter but thru another testing site) was positive and my husband and I were negative. My children moved out and we disinfected the house to prevent spread to my elderly parents living with us. Net/net a week later, New Year's Eve, my mother went to this ER to test and after testing positive this ER reached out to her admitted her and gave her the monoclonal therapy. My mother could not speak more highly of the staff, the process etc. They made her so comfortable. The next day our 57 year old friend also went in and spoke highly of them and my 79 yo father too! Hospital is so short staffed in every way, most of the staff are just BURNED OUT and they have the "Just Don't Care Attitude" but they need they need the Paycheck..!! We were a Patient there and it was a brutal stay, house keeping almost nonexistent, call light almost never got answered l, PATIENT room never got a full clean, room floors were disgustingly filthy, socks would turn black from just walking from bed to the bathroom. I was very sick last year and wanted to get some tests done quickly to get some peace of mind. Going here was the best ER visit I have ever experienced. They are a fully equipped ER. I didn't have to wait to be seen. I brought my pillow and my iPad although they did have a pillow and I was very comfortable while I waited. They got the tests done quickly and I was out of there in 2 or 3 hours. I was surprised I didn't have to pay my co-pay up front, but I did get a bill for it a few months later and paid it then. There were no billing surprises, just the co-pay. This ER was so much better than Urgent Care. I saw an ER doctor, not a PA or nurse, which is what I wanted. What a great service! Felisha, the director of registration, got her in really fast with minimal paperwork which I truly appreciated and they started treating her right away, quickly getting an IV in her arm. A friend recommended Phx ER & Medical Hospital to me as she had just taken her 5 year old in for stitches. She said there was no wait, minimal paperwork and everyone was super nice. Of course a week later I needed to take my 6 year old in and my girlfriend was right - this ER is the best! Everyone from the lady at the front desk to the nurses and doctors were all so incredibly sweet! Every single one of them! They got us right in and even offered my daughter and I a snack while we waited for test results. Our room even had a great TV setup with Hulu to keep us entertained. And the other great thing?! It is actually clean!! Everything is spotless and you can really tell they take care of the place. I actually wasn't afraid to sit down haha. I had the unfortunate need to visit an ER after speaking to the nurse helpline over the weekend. I didn't want to spend all day and be around a bunch of sick people, so i opted to try Phoenix ER on Dobson. Check in was quick as i was the only person! I was taken to a private room and met the doctor. She was super friendly, thorough and helpful. After a series of questions, i was taken to a private examining room. Everyone: nurses, radiology tech and doctor were all female! And very knowledgeable and personable! Within 2.5 hrs, after tests, i was out the door without ever coming in contact with another sick patient. Hopefully I'll never need to go again, but if i do, I'd return without hesitation. read more

State of the art equipment, they seem to all communicate with walkie talkie system . No waiting while the disappear to look for someone. A facility like this is why health care costs are out of control, especially in times like these. $4000 for a Covid interview and test. Less than 30 minutes of total time. Now I know you're probably thinking: well you had insurance right? That's not the point. I am paying the premiums for the insurance and eventually the premiums are going to go up because of predatory practices like this place. While I was in the waiting room, I saw no less than 6 people in for the same reason (in 30 minutes). Roughly my math says $48,000/hr if that number remained consistent through the day. Nothing but a profit center for the elite. The owner of the firm sits on multiple medical company boards and touts nothing but "profit profit profit". THIS is the problem with modern medicine in the united states. No care for people, care for profits. Only reason it got two stars was that it was a nice facility and the people were nice. read more

I can't begin to say enough good things about this place, my friends brought me here after breaking/dislocating my elbow. I was in excruciating pain and the team here was able to quickly get me in and help diagnose my problem and give me some medication to help ease the pain. They then worked closely with another hospital because I needed more treatment, they set me up with another Valley Hospital so that I was able to get a bed in room upon arrival. Every staff member was super friendly and nice giving me all the information I needed and made sure that I was comfortable. They even allowed my friends to come back and visit me at one at a time during Covid but it was still nice for them to let visitors in. read more

This s is the best ER I have been to! The check in process was quick, easy and simple. The man at the front desk was so nice and patient with me. I took my 9 year old daughter in and she had a laceration in her thumb that was pretty deep so she was freaked out. The nurse was so sweet and so calm talking to her and taking her time with my daughter she really made her feel comfortable. The room was clean and nice it really made her comfortable to calm down. The staff was outstanding I could not say it enough I would highly recommend coming here for all emergency needs especially for children. read more
