I went to this urgent care on Sunday and paid $90 for the visit, $6 for a strep test, and $16 for…read morethe prescription. I came in with chest pain, severe throat pain, and a persistent cough. The provider said my throat "looked like tonsillitis with exudate," but admitted she wasn't sure what I had -- mentioning it could be mono, strep, or tonsillitis. My strep test was negative, yet I was still prescribed amoxicillin based only on what it "looked like." The visit lasted about 10 minutes, and I was told to come back if symptoms worsened. After 4 days on amoxicillin, my symptoms got worse, not better. I developed a severe cough keeping me up at night, my voice became hoarse again, and my throat and chest pain increased. I returned on Thursday and explained everything, including that I am cash pay and had just been there days earlier. I was told I still had to pay $50 plus more for prescriptions. The second provider was rude and dismissive, cut me off while I was explaining my symptoms, and defended the first prescription instead of listening. She admitted she also didn't know what I had, saying it "could be anything" and made an inappropriate political comment about viruses, verbatim stating "well trump put all these viruses out there so I don't know what you have", which was completely unprofessional. No one addressed my throat pain, chest pain, hoarseness, nausea, or worsening cough in a meaningful way. The visit again felt rushed (under 10 minutes). When I received my discharge paperwork, my diagnosis was listed as "acute cough and nasal congestion", which is not why I came in. None of my main symptoms were documented. I already have a weakened immune system, and being given medications based on guesses rather than proper evaluation is unacceptable. Between the cost, lack of clear diagnosis, dismissive care, and poor documentation, this was a horrible experience. I would not recommend this urgent care to anyone.

Dr. Ijaola is proficient, punctual, and personable enough. He's been very thorough during my daughter's last 2 checkups. I also decided to finally have a wellness check for myself since the birth of my daughter was so horrific for both of us. My primary care physician also works at this office. She's one of the nurse practitioners. And she is extremely knowledgeable and thorough as well. Bonus, their office is immaculate and seriously, the fact that you can show up to your appointment on time and be seen right away with zero wait time is amazing!

The providers didn't seem to listen or validate what I was experiencing. Communication was also poor. I left a voicemail and didn't receive a timely callback, and when I finally did, the response came across as rude and unsupportive. Overall, it felt more focused on getting patients in for additional visits than actually providing quality care. What makes this more frustrating is that my husband and I had just established care here and completed physicals on the family practice side. I rarely have medical issues and try to handle things the right way, so this experience was disappointing. I'll be continuing care with another office who actually listens, and my family will be finding a new primary care provider and urgent care moving forward.

They claim they can't list me by my actual first name, because it's abbreviated on my insurance card. My insurance knows it's abbreviated and they have my full legal name. And even if their system is that complicated, there's no preferred name option? Really? So they will refer to me as a single letter instead of my actual name. I've never run into this problem before at a medical provider office and I've been to many using the same insurance card. Imagine being taken back to have a procedure done under anesthesia and the assistant you've never met tries to greet you but doesn't know what to call you because your name is missing on your paperwork, and it's just a letter. Imagine they try to call your driver back after you're done, and they don't know what to announce. Imagine you get texts after your procedure, referring to you as a single letter instead of your first name. That's exactly what happened, and I was really surprised. It's poor customer service. It creates confusion and discomfort when you're already in a vulnerable position. I work at a medical office and I can't imagine treating a patient like that. It's such a basic standard to call people by their name. I let the office know my concern and they said they can't do anything about it. I'll go elsewhere next time.

And got a call from a collection agency and they are trying to collect the amount. Call doctor office back and told them and they said they would have someone investigate it and get back to me. Looks like I might have to file a complaint with the AZ attorney general office that they are trying to extort money from me. My insurance company said that I do not own them anything. Use this as a massive warning! (And I am seeing others comment in these reviews similarly.) Circumstance 1: I went in to the Urgent Care for a UTI and was charged, using insurance, $812.00 just for a dip stick urine test and under a 2 minute doctor consultation to write me an RX. My insurance paid $7.37 total because they said that is the cost of a test. That makes sense. So what is left is costing me over $400 a minute for help for face to face care with a doctor. Circumstance 2: I went to the same Urgent Care (didn't have the bill for the previous one, otherwise I would not have gone) for bronchitis and a sinus infection. Again, heart rate, bp, and a stethoscope to my chest was all that was done, in addition to the prescription to take to a local pharmacy (no xrays or anything like that). This one was charged $528...so over $150 per minute to be face to face with a doctor. Both times I went, I was the ONLY patient in the waiting room (and didn't see one in the main part of the rooms). It's not like I was at a high peak time even. Why weren't others there...probably because they have read so many poor reviews unlike I did. I was telling this with a friend of mine and she told me that this happened to her as well (same location for an ear infection), resulting in an outlandish bill, so I am not the only person that this has happened to. I have called many times to get them to recode/adjust trying to dispute it even asking for the self payout, and they are not budging.They are standing behind their stomach-dropping fees. I will also say, I have gone to this location other times in past years for the same issues and never received such outlandish bills. It's as if they are treating this like an emergency room (and with my multiple phone calls the billing department employees keeps saying "ER"). I have driven by the place to make sure it didn't change to an ER and I mistakenly didn't notice, but the sign on the building (and the website) says Urgent Care. I am NOT trying to get out of paying for my services, but I will stand up for what is "right" and announce to many what a horrible company they have become. Seems like the only thing I can do is leave a bad review, notify the news company, file a complaint with the department of health, in addition to my insurance company (Blue Cross) knowing. He's very attentive and has a great bedside manner, listens to the patients and asks the right questions. He is on the Medici app so he no longer has a practice in person, but this works even better. Our insurance pays 80% and we owe 20% but the desk can not tell u what the charge will be but they have office policy to collect. 20% of what ? as we have not even seen the doctor. The office manager, Max will not be there until 9 and is the only one to approve a change to office policy. Our first office visit on 6/12, there was an issue at desk with another patient and the desk was in an up roar, so this drama is not new. A person of reason did take us to an examination room, apologized for the desk not taking our 20% payment(which they did not take on our first visit, and because of a change of address we received the bill and was paid before we were back which they confirmed). Blue Cross Blue Shield already paid the 80% so they were making money. She gave us copies of our file. But she made the case that they did not want us to think it was all about the money. That the doctor really did care about the patients. What are we to think? Max nor the doctor has reached out to us, there silence says volumes and approves of the desk's handing of our attempt to see the doctor and that bullying cost them two patients. Be careful going to this doctor and we are looking for another less evasive front desk.
