Really don't have any complaints after taking our son here for the last three months. Frequent updates from the brightwheel app and staff being excited to care for our son is all we can ask for. I was a part of this center for a short time, and i would not recommend working there or sending your child there, make sure you read reviews before sending your child to a day care. I saw first hand the disorganization, lying, and dishonesty that was upheld there, with employees, and their care for kids was not great, although i never thankfully saw harsh or abusive behaviors, they were not sweet and loving, or seemed to have given anyone a care in the world. Children need to be loved and cared for and employees need to be treated nicely and not cheated or lied to. I dont recommend this place for your child or employment read more

The worst childcare I have experienced in my life. They charge you for the days your child does not attend just because. There is not personal relationship - only money. Every time I was picking my one year old up, he was crying alone... nobody ever bothered calm him down or change his diaper. One girl there told me that when she came back from lunch, my son was crying like crazy and nobody cared so she started putting him to sleep. Also i left my son's jacket there and they said they had not seen it... so I guess it just disappeared. If you love your kids, find another place for them. Banners has been so flexible with all of my scheduling needs since my oldest daughter started 3.5 years ago. She loves going to daycare and seeing her teachers. My youngest daughters current teacher has been there since my eldest daughter started. Many of the teachers are also going to college themselves (Fisher, MCC etc), so there is turnover at times, that is expected since these individuals are looking to grow their careers! Banners Childcare has been a great facility for me and my family. I've had 2 kids go through the program and have nothing but nice things to say. My youngest was there from 10 weeks to 4 years old and my oldest was there from 24 months to 6 years old. The teachers and office staff were very attentive and always put me and my family needs first. I work as a nurse so i had a rotating schedule and Banners was so flexible with my needs which was comforting. There were even times I called the day before needing care because my schedule changed and they were able to have my children attend. I highly recommend Banners!! read more

I would not trust this place to care for my children. Don't get me wrong- there are (were?) some great teachers here. But management and ownership leaves a lot to be desired. It's death by 1000 cuts - no one offense is so bad that you would want to get your kid out of there, but the cumulative effect can be overwhelming. Let's start with the front office. Nice enough people, for sure. However, they are extremely disorganized. Time and time again they would take notes from me or my wife which would be lost in a sea of food wrappers and other loose papers on their desk - that led to a lot of frustration on a weekly basis. The office was often left unattended during the day because the staff had to cover for teacher/aide breaks. Other times, aides and random children are inside the office which made it difficult to communicate with the office staff effectively. The food they serve the children is passable, but it's not clear that they follow CACFP, a nutritional standard that all daycare centers in the country are supposed to follow if they serve your children food. For example, I'm pretty sure that tomato sauce is considered a vegetable on the menu at Banners which is a no-no. If you do end up enrolling your child here, be sure to send some of your own food in, and maybe check to see if the menu is actually certified by the USDA like it's supposed to be. We were in the infant rooms for our time here. At the end of the day, babies tend to get moved around to different rooms a little bit so rooms can be cleaned and the center can maintain an appropriate child/teacher ratio. That in and of itself is fine, but what I found many times was that no one would know where any of my child's stuff was (car seat, cooler bag, jacket, etc). This made pick up something of a chore, as I ended up having to go room to room to find things that were not where I left them. It's not exactly a great way to end your day, and many of the aides agreed wholeheartedly with me! Apparently this is a common issue with other parents in these rooms. Beware leaving breastmilk in the freezer here for any length of time. We lost several bags one weekend because the freezer "defrosted" (i.e., someone left the freezer door open by accident). On another occasion I picked my child up at the end of the day and I found a freezer door wide open. I closed it and alerted the front office, but this isn't something you should have to worry about as a parent. Breastmilk is precious and should be treated as such! Safety wise, I'm not crazy about how they have things set up in the infant rooms. Each room has hard laminate floors with a plush rug that simply doesn't cover enough of the floor for children who are just learning how to sit up, crawl, and walk. I witnessed a number of close calls just with my own kid who fell backwards trying to stand up. Walking around I also noticed that one of the glass doors to the playground had duct tape covering a large crack. It remained like that for some time, which is pretty unsafe. I'm reasonably sure it was like that when we left, but it's possible that it's been fixed by now. We were lucky enough to have some excellent teachers/aides who really cared for our child, so I was saddened to learn that most of them are no longer with the center. High turnover is a big problem judging by other reviews I've read about this place, and I can only imagine that it comes down to management and ownership. Privately, I and other parents with kids at Banners have expressed concerns about how the center is run, as we've overheard the owner speaking with employees in a manner that made us fairly uncomfortable. This just isn't a place that gives you a very warm and fuzzy feeling, and that's really a shame. read more

My son has attended Banners for almost 5 years, we also have a 2 year old daughter that attends, and I am expecting our third who will also attend. The staff is kind and compassionate and has become an integral part of our family. In the past 2 years they have opened a new expansion to the existing facility and updated the old facility. Although it has always been a bright and inviting space it is now even more beautiful. The outdoor space has also been updated with three new playgrounds and a ton of open space for the children to enjoy. My children are fed three meals a day that are prepared right on sight in there brand new commercial grade kitchen, which is included right in the price of tuition. As a parent of almost 3 it is so nice to not have to worry about one more thing! The staff is so kind and accommodating. They are always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. In the years that we have been there we have seen little staff turnover so we know almost everyone when we walk in the building which is so reassuring as a parent. Both my children are far exceeding where they should be developmentally. My son is writing, starting to read, and preforming above where he should in math. My daughter is fully potty trained, which I assure was no easy feat! She is developmentally and socially above where she should be at 2 years of age. I have never questioned the sanitation at Banners. I always see the staff cleaning. I have been told they use the same bleach solution that I use at home to keep things sanitized! As infants my children suffered tremendously with ear infections. Banners is MAT trained so they were able to give them all the necessary medications that they needed. Both my children also suffer from asthma and because they are MAT trained they are able to administer all their medications. They are trained in what to look for in asthmatic cases and I have never once second guessed leaving my children in their care even with their medical issues. I know a few families with special circumstances that Banners has worked closely with in order to ensure that their children are being tended to and loved no matter what is going on in their personal lives. They seem to take a real interest in each family and deal with each situation as it arises. I have been more than pleased with the care that my children have received and continue to receive. I would and have highly recommended Banners Child Care to any parent looking for quality care for their children. read more

Our older daughter has been with Banners for over 3 and half years now and our younger son has joined for few months now. My wife and I have been very pleased with quality of care, service and management that the center provides. Our kids have made a lot of wonderful connections with the teachers,staff, and friends throughout their time there. We are very pleased to have known teachers that have shown great care and contributed to the growth of our kids. The management is very organized and there have been few instances when they when they went above and beyond in monitoring specific issue and keeping us updated. read more

My son has been going to Banners since May of this year. Our plan was to just have him there for a few months before the other daycare had more spots open, but that hasn't happened yet. I like most of the staff and there hasn't really been a big turnover that I've seen so far. My son seems to like them as well. One thing I agree with that others have also said is the lack of organization a lot of times. I know it's really tough with babies and toddlers, but we are many times going to various rooms at the end of the day to look for his coat, diaper bag, etc. We have also had a couple of things lost as others have. This may have been my son putting them in random places or throwing them out when no one was looking, but we still need to replace them now. I also wish they had more technology. It's just a sheet of paper that may or may not be fully filled out at the end of the day. I wish they had a camera so I could check in on my son during the day or at least updates online so we don't just need paper each day. They also really need to update their website. Overall it's a fairly good place that needs some tweaks, but I am not worried about my son's safety while he's there. read more

I had my two son's enrolled there. My younger son was only a year old, so he couldn't voice his opinion of the place, he never really put up a fuss when i dropped him off. However, my 3 year old at the time, screamed his head off when i dropped him off. Now, just give you an idea of my children, they have always been to daycare since they were infants. I mean, mommy's gotta work somehow to provide. So they were very familiar that daycare means, mommy's leaving. The first times, my three year old at the time, was fine. Bye mom, love you, see you later. A few weeks into it was when the screaming started. He really started to scare me and I knew something wasn't right. He started to tell me that they kept making him sleep all the time. He also said that the teachers there weren't nice and they screamed at the kids alot. I guess sleep time was a punishment mechanism they used? Regardless, when i dropped my 3 year old off, the teacher's paid no attention to me. A few times, i had to get his breakfast myself off the cart because the teachers plain out ignored me. They also tried to screw me out about $2,000. I had subsidized daycare assistance, and there was a lapse in my coverage for about 2 weeks. Umm, how does 2 weeks amount to $2,000? I was naive and started to give them every paycheck I had and ended up not paying my bills for 2 months. And they prove no record of that, since I paid them cash. Regardless to say, I don't care for them too much. I've since found a great daycare center and I am actually acknowledged when i drop my kids off and they love it. read more

My daughter went to Banners from when she was 6 weeks old until a few weeks shy of her first birthday. She is our first child. So when my wife was ready to go back to work, we just chose Banner based on a location that would be convenience for both of our workplaces, thinking that most daycares are all probably similar to each other anyways. We were wrong! There are tons of options around the same area. I do wish that I had spent some time touring some of the different places but pretty much just relied on online reviews initially. And people don't seem to review daycares! With that said, here are the goods/the bads for those parents that are interested in a review: Good - Even as an infant/toddler, they spend a good amount of time doing hands on arts and craft activities - It's an updated facility so no safety concerns when it comes to building code compliances. This is my line of work; it mattered to me. - They take credit cards. At 13K a year, this was a big deal for racking up cc rewards for us. Not So Good - The daycare is a private business. There does not seem to be an organized management and operation structure. If you needed something, you ask for it and they will get somebody on it, but there is no process or standard procedure in place. The same people that takes care of the kids are tasked with mopping and scrubbing. - No dedicated nurse on staff, just someone that sits in the front office and administers the meds. I think this is uncommon but we were pleasantly surprise to hear that our new daycare has a nurse on staff...which is a big big plus considering that there is minimal cost difference. Keyword:Options! - No onsite kitchen; therefore no dedicated cook/chef; therefore no healthy meal plan. As a matter of fact, the majority of the food that they are feeding your babies here is from a can, a box or a bag. No name cereal bars seems to be the favorite. What food that is cooked gets brought in offsite, God knows from where, and is usually piled in giant soggy bowls with Saran Wrap. The food is then carted from room to room and dropped off on TOP of the fridge. - Sanitation is a huge issue here. Water downed windex. Dirty mop water. Food crumbs underneath the fridge (I just happen to be looking under the fridge, LOL. I"ll explain.), discolored diaper changing cushion, rugs that haven't been cleaned in years, you get the point... - Old toys/ equipment. The entire time my daughter was there...I did not notice a single toy or piece of equipment/furniture get replace due to excessive wear or use. The owner walks around (usually at the beginning and end of the month / pay day) with a rock on her finger the size of a doorknob. So the business is definitely profitable, but none of that money is getting put back into the center, which is probably the reason behind most of the issues. Ok I just realized that I can go on and on,but you should get the idea by now. There are lots of options when it comes to daycare. Explore those options. B4 I forget, the whole reason I was looking under the fridge was because my daughter lost her bracelet. The bracelet was never found. Banners made no attempt to look for it and just brushed the whole thing off as if I forgot about it. It was a bracelet not an earring. It can't be lost, It was stolen. So yes you would be dealing with a thief in the mist there as well. Although .... I noticed that a handful of people disappeared at the turn of the year. I wonder is someone was caught, fired, and they are just keeping a lid on it. Oh well. My concern was not the bracelet. That can be replaced. My concern is with the way they handled the situation, which is indicative of how they would handle future situations. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. read more

My child started out at Banner's for daycare but we have since switched centers. While I never had concerns over my child's safety or basic needs being met, there were several unsettling circumstances along the way that made me question the quality of the caregivers that were being hired. First, the turnover seemed quite high (a chronic issue at nearly every center, but much better since we've switched) and the caregivers often didn't know my child or me. It's hard to leave your child every day, and even harder when it's a new face you're leaving them with. Additionally, the caregivers seemed quite young and inexperienced. On one occasion I stayed to feed my child a bottle and the caregiver had over heated it, wasted much of the milk on testing the heat, and then we needed to wait 10 minutes for it to cool down. They also told me they were tasting the homemade baby food that I made myself which I felt was unprofessional and potentially unsanitary. On the subject of food, I was disappointed by the food choices when my child transitioned to table food. The vast majority is pre-packaged, processed, and high in sugar / salt. Virtually nothing homemade. They showed willingness to alter the food but it just seemed like there was a really long way to go and a big disparity between their idea of a child's diet and mine. Lastly, I feel that enrichment for the child was a reach and often not done. I'm confident my child didn't go outside for the entire summer, and I often found her sitting alone when I came to pick up. I'd often get positive comments from the caregivers about "how well she plays alone." I worry that's all she was doing much of the time. read more

LOW QUALITY - TOP DOLLAR - BOO. We had a mysterious case of scabies break-out about 4 weeks after we left there-- making that the likely spot of contracting it. Gestation of scabies (from contact to break-out) is about 3-4 weeks. All the children's coats and belongings are stuffed together in a messy random hook/bin system.The caregivers are lack-luster. They were forever talking among themselves, and spoke harshly to children-- as if they had little to no training as to 'how' to correct children--and that's how they acted in front of a parent. The direct caregivers never called my child by name, they called him, "baby." He's 2 1/2 and articulate. He would say to me when I picked him up, "I'm not a baby..." The facility is unimpressive, the staff are very young and seem virtually untrained, and the front room always reeked of bleach, as if mopping the foyer with bleach water would present a level of 'clean' that just didn't exist in the actual rooms. The postings you are writing about are not true, you do not know what you are talking about. The other center you reviewed on the same day changed there name and owners. Get your facts straight. Lack of structure, too many kids, not enough EXPERIENCED staff, discipline is sending toddlers to the office and not actually correcting the behavior, complete lack of respect for parents (they should learn to mute the phone if they are going to talk negative about a parent), negligence to the children by putting too small of diapers on a child and the list can go on and on!! My son started at Banners when he was 14 months old and we pulled him out about a month ago. At first, we loved everything about the facility. Then...for some reason things took a drastic turn. Everyday would be a struggle to drop him off with him screaming that he did not want to go, which I was told numerous times from the staff was normal (NOT NORMAL). I would have many instances where nobody knew where my son's things were and his jacket in the middle of winter was "misplaced", and one time they did not even know where he was (he was in a "closed" room with a bunch of other kids but no one knew that)!! My son also picked up nasty habits such as spitting and screaming back at me with things my husband or I have NEVER SAID to him (which I know can happen anywhere), however it was due to the lack of proper structure and corrective measures when they are watching my son Monday-Friday while my husband and I can work to afford their OUTRAGEOUS prices. I truly believe that the staff would yell and degrade my son and other children - and think they can get away with it...but my son is very vocal and tells us everything! Every day seemed to be "FREE PLAY" instead of learning and having activities planned for every minute, which is what 2-3 year old's NEED! The true ice breaker was when my son started crying that the teachers pushed him, and yell at him all day...when I addressed this with the director and the teacher, I was told "your son is an instigator". ...that was the response I got!!! We advised Banners our son will not be continuing there after the 2 week notice that was required in the handbook. However, we never made it the full 2 weeks due to the lack of respect and negligence (too many stories to write in one review)! He now is in a new daycare and there are no more tears at drop off or pick up! He is happy to go there and happy to see me when I pick him up in the afternoon. He is finally tired at the end of the day (never happened at Banners) because he was stimulated and learning! He is learning so much more and has finally kicked some of the nasty habits and language that he picked up at Banners. They are awful people and have no respect for children or parents...they just want the money!!!!! read more
