Our son has had an awesome time at Pittsford Nursery School! He is 3 and currently in Ms. Kerry's class. Pittsford Nursery School is his first school experience and the director and teachers provided him with a great step-wise introduction with incremental time spent at school both with and without parents/caregivers to ensure the best transition. He currently goes 2x/wk but next year (when he will be 4) we are considering both the 3-day and 5-day options. I love the flexibility they have to meet each child's needs to grow and learn intellectually, socially & emotionally in a warm & friendly environment. read more

Pittsford Nursery School has been a wonderful preschool for all three of my children. We have had amazing teachers who truly care about the kids. They introduce many academic skills through a play based approach and have a lot of fun together. I especially love the cooperative experience and being able to help out in the classroom. This creates a strong sense of community in the school and I'll always be grateful for that. I can't recommend this gem of a preschool enough. read more

PCNS has been a wonderful gift to our family. The staff (teachers and director) have been so accommodating. They happily work with my son's service providers to make his day successful. I have seen them make accommodations to support many of my son's classmates. They want you and your child to have a wonderful experience. They also offer Enrichment after the normal school hours. My son has loved Lil'Athletes! If you are looking for a school that gives you a sense of community, Pittsford Community Nursery School will provide that for your family. My son has been going to Pittsford Nursery School for the past two years and it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. The teachers are fantastic! I love the coop experience. Being able to be in the classroom with my son some days is really fun and he loves it. They offer babysitting for siblings for parents to work in the classroom which is huge to make the coop feasible for parents of multiple kids. read more

My two girls attend PCNS and they absolutely love it! We have been incredibly happy with the program at PCNS. I have a daughter in the 4's program and one in the 2's program. Their teachers are kind, loving and it's obvious that they truly care about the growth and development of my children. The coop experience has been fantastic and it's been wonderful to be able to spend some time with them in the classroom. Wonderful environment with caring, knowledgeable teachers. Programs are built on solid curriculum and plenty of time for play. Parents are in the room to assist and this gives an opportunity for everyone to communicate throughout you child's year. Pre-K is an added bonus for those students needing a little extra time to ready for Kindergarten. Clean, creative and caring. read more

Parents be very wary of letting your kids attend Pittsford Cooperative Nursery School. They allow their teachers to physically restrain children. I found out about this and immediately removed my pre-schooler from this school. The teacher was not removed from duty, suspended, etc. It has been over a year and this person still works there. My child (who was a stellar kindergartner who caused no problems according to his teacher) still brings it up, i.e., he remains affected. Very painful. The school is aware of this teacher's putting hands on children and allows the teacher to remain on duty. If it happened to my child, it's likely not the first or last time its happened. Therefore, it can happen to your child too. read more

I cannot recommend this facility. During the first day of school my three year old son left the playground through a gate that the school failed to secure. Their class sizes are large and the amount of employees they have are low. They rely on the parents of children to make up the difference. And these parents are unqualified to handle the responsibilities of being in charge of a class room setting such as this. We have had continual problems with this school not meeting the needs of our son and putting him in situations that hamper his growth, regress his emotional and mental health and put him in physical danger. Near the end of our time at this school we brought in an occupational therapist to help support our son's needs and that was the only education or positive experience he was having at this institution, but that was something we did on our own and was paid for by our school district. So the reality is that we got nothing out of the programs of this school and in many cases the faculty and staff damaged my son's growth. We are now looking for a new nursery school that meets our son's needs and will be extra vigilant as we do not want to put our trust in another institution that could fail us. read more
