Cute, intimate bakery that also serves lunch items. We came in for a coffee and a pastry. Selection was low, for sweets, I guess because of the time of day, but we were able to get a chocolate croissant and a blueberry strudel with a cappuccino. Nice decor with beautiful paintings on display and for sale. Beautiful antique teacups and saucers on display also. Service was friendly and attentive. Cuuuuute cute cute little patisserie in downtown Florence. I saw it on our way into Mugshots last Saturday. I was afraid we were there too late in the day but I managed to glimpse the hours of operation and realized I could still duck in, and so I did! The inside is clearly French-inspired. It's cute and I saw several folks scattered around the small seating area working on laptops or sipping coffee and chatting quietly. They have a few meal-ish offerings a la ham and cheese croissants and quiche. There's a small pastry case near the register where you can peruse their goods. It was a little bit picked over when I got there but it makes sense -- an hour before closing on a weekend, it's to be expected. I was thrilled to grab the last almond croissant! Service was so sweet! She asked me if I had a student ID for a student discount. I told her I was a student online at a different university and she said I could still have one if I had my ID. How nice! She also sent me off with the nicest goodbye and thank you. My almond croissant that I had for dessert later that night was delightful! Crumbly, flaky pastry, silky almond filling, pleasantly toasty almond slivers. I enjoyed every bite! I thought about only leaving 4 stars because I don't know if I've tried enough of the product to warrant a 5, but I really have no complaints, and so...5 it is! I will happily return when I'm in Florence again. :) read more

I visited Banquet Patisserie on a Sunday morning at around 9:30. The cashier was very friendly and quickly took the order. It smelled great and we were excited to get our lattes and food. We ordered a raspberry danish and breakfast everything bagel with sausage, egg and cheese. And then we waited. And waited. There was a poor woman ahead of us who only ordered a bagel with cream cheese and she didn't get her order any quicker than those of us who ordered cooked food. Luckily, once we got our food it was excellent and probably with the wait. The lattes were great and strong, and the bagel sandwich tasted like local or organic sausage. It was fresh and absolutely delicious. I think we just hit them at a bad time when they had too many customers and hadn't gotten fully ramped up for the morning. I arrived here on a Sunday afternoon around 2 PM, and was greeted politely. There were several people in line in front of me, and after looking around briefly, there were already a few people inside. There's around eight two-seater tables inside. They play some pleasant music, but it's a little loud inside (because of the small space). There's a ton of light from the open windows and vaunting ceilings. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and almond croissant to-go. The cappuccino was served in this very cutely decorated cup. They seem to offer several gluten-free options and have a rotating menu everyday that is also publicized on their social media. I'd love to try this out again around breakfast to see more of their offerings! read more

Vanilla Cappuccino from Banquet Patisserie Honestly, for a place that is slightly hard to find on the internet and in person, this place has got to be a contender for one of my favorite shops in all of the local Florence, AL area. The atmosphere, food, and coffee immediately take me back to my trip to France. Absolutely beautiful. If you're looking for an authentic French cafe experience in the Florence area, it's here. Some other important details that make this place more able for me was their hours. They are open relatively long, normally from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. However, most importantly they are open on Sundays! One of the few coffee shops that are open in Florence Sundays. So if you're craving coffee on Sunday after church, come here! Their availability on Sunday is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm They also offer amazing breakfast here. I will be returning with photos of the menu to post here and a little bit of the interior of the shop because you guys need to see. Some items on the menu I liked were the pimento cheese danish, breakfast casserole, and their long selection of pastries. Another awesome thing is that they had one or two outlets to charge devices, so if you want to get out of the house to work this place may be a good option granted they aren't already being used by someone else. The coffee I got here I think is really interesting because for one I've never seen someone give me a cap in a piece of china like that. Super cool! I felt like I was the at the mad hatter's tea party. I also liked the latte art they had on top albeit probably being entirely unintentional. It has lighter espresso highlights compared to other cappuccinos I've had and looked dainty, airy, and cloud-like. It tasted exactly how it looked too. It, compared to other cappuccinos I've had, was foamier, richer, and embodied a true proper cappuccino(in my opinion). For me it was the quintessential cappuccino.
