Pretty disappointing to order 2 filet mignon steaks and they come out uneatable. I'm not sure where they source their beef but this steak was more like roast beef. We had high hopes because of all the praise given by people that we know.. first impressions, this place looks great.. love the decor and the service is awesome. The menu is very diverse, so we had a difficult time trying to decide what to order! I ordered the filet mignon and my girlfriend went with ribs and chicken. I was very disappointed when my steak arrived well done the server kindly had another one made for me. When I got it, I still wasn't happy .. it just tasted like char .... Not much flavor other than tasting like maybe the grill was too hot .. super disappointed.. however, the sweet potato and Parmesan broccoli was fantastic. My girlfriend's food however was great.. the ribs were smokey and tender.. the chicken was great, we loved the batter!! I would definitely like to return and try other things, including dessert! We were passing thru and wanted a good steak. This place did not disappoint. They have a rather large menu, which includes a wide array of bakery items. I started with a Pina colada sangria. I've never had anything like it. It was delicious. My husband had Nana's peach iced tea, which was peach crown royal with iced tea. They offer a very large salad bar, which you can purchase as your meal or add it as a side. I had the pork tenderloin bites, with wild rice and baked beans. The pork was very well seasoned and so tender. My husband had the 14 oz ribeye with mashed potatoes. It was also delicious. The steak was melt in your mouth delicious. We were stuffed but had to take dessert to go. We chose the turtle cheesecake, peanut butter pie, red velvet cookies and salted caramel cookies (for the kids). We will be back! Stopped at Stanfield's for lunch. It was actually pretty packed, but I only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, which wasn't too bad. I was immediately greeted by my lovely waitress. Each time I visit, I try to get something different since they offer a lot of food options. I ordered the one stop to the salad bar, which is always a hit and you can never go wrong with it. It is always fully stocked and I always see a staff member periodically come by and restock and clean the bar area. I also ordered the chopped steak with a side of mash potatoes. For an additional fee, I ordered onions and peppers. To me, this should automatically come with the dish as well as gravy, but keep in mind it doesn't for some odd reason. The food was seasoned well and served fresh, but without the peppers, onions, and gravy, you could definitely tell it was missing "something." So I definitely had to get a side of gravy. The mashed potatoes were super delicious as they were very buttery and creamy. All in all, pretty good visit and good food. read more

We had date night at Stanfield's yesterday and it was amazing! My hubs had fettucini Alfredo with chicken and the salad bar. He raved! I had butterfly shrimp and baked potatoes with their come sale. I raved! We had cheese sticks and took a slice of their amazing blueberry cheesecake which we ate late last night. Food was a 5*!! Every time we go into Sheffield, AL, my husband and I love going to Standfield's. Their fish & chips with the house fries (soooo awesome) and I like a house dark ale, even though I can't drink the whole thing (I'm a light weight and rarely have a drink, so a half a beer is plenty!). I can safely say that everything we have tried is great; Appetizers: Onions Rings, Crab Cakes, Spinach/Artichoke Dip, to Main Courses: from the Steak to Beef Tips, to Shrimp Alfredo, it's all great! And we always take a desert home; my husband usually gets the small chocolate cake with chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate on it, matter of fact it's called Death By Chocolate. I am cheesecake freak, just can't get enough but I purposely get only one slice and choose the topping on a whim. You just can't go wrong here and no matter how busy they are you get great service. Had a really good dinner here. Very busy Tuesday night, so instead of waiting 30 minutes for table I sat at the bar. Bar was extremely busy with really only one person working the bar, so service was a slow, however she was very nice. Thought I'd start out with a draft beer, but they have recently decided to no longer serve draft beer and only offer canned or bottled beer. For dinner, I had the grilled salmon and it was prepared and seasoned nicely. It automatically comes with a side of coleslaw (very good) and jalapeño hush puppies (flavorful, yet only a hint of spiciness so don't be scared!), and an additional side which I chose steak fries. Ate here when we had an hour to kill before a tour of Muscle Shoals Sound Studios (it's less than 5 minutes away). The ambiance was very nice and the service very friendly and attentive--good ol' Southern Hospitality. My Caesar salad was HUGE and delicious, with enormous croutons and giant shaved slices of Parmesan. My companion said the salad bar was one of the best he'd ever seen. I truly have enjoyed Stanfield's on every visit. I love the buffalo ranch flat which. They make it with naan which I find amazing. Pair it with the whiskey straws super then onion rings for a tasty treat. Do not order the large wedge salad! The good before the bad: The best thing about this place is the friendliness of the staff. Always smiling, always friendly. The food is great too. Salad bar is out of this world. Definitely try that. My favorite entree is the Island Chicken (with white sauce), but the menu is very diverse, and it is all great. Now, the bad. Only 1 thing: Wait times aren't great. I wish there could be a whole separate review just for that. I have never been seated within 30 minutes to an hour of my "approximate" seating time given.
