However, during the visit, I was told that I could not be covered for an annual exam without coming in person. Since I live in Dallas and cannot travel to Houston, there was no point in continuing the appointment. What felt difficult for me was that instead of having my questions addressed, the conversation shifted immediately to payment. That left me feeling like money was prioritized over my care. I believe patients would feel more supported if their concerns were listened to first and billing discussed with more empathy. I have always paid for my visits and would never intend otherwise, but based on this experience, I don't think I will be continuing care with this provider. Second, she is a gentle, yet direct communicator, offering her observations per the patterns that appear and how their effects play into the dynamics of the relationship. Third, she is deeply compassionate in how she holds space for her clients. She is trauma-informed, and able to lessen the anxiety one holds around it, using a variety of techniques to diffuse it. While she does not refrain from holding her clients accountable, she is tender in how she delivers her assessments, offering her client(s) a variety of methods to reprogram the energetic. She has an extensive educational background, covering a vast spectrum of behaviors, disorders, and dysfunctions. While I wasn't always comfortable hearing about my growth points, she was spot on per the drivers of my behaviors and what I could do to navigate relationship with myself differently, thus influencing how I was able to show up differently in relationship with others. While my goal was to have my relationship saved by coming to couples counseling, what ended up happening was that I got saved...from my partner's subtle manipulations, from abuse to which I had become desensitized, and from my unhealthy pattern of staying way too long in a relationship that did not serve me. I appreciate her rigorous training in assessing people and know that in Rose's calling my partner to task, I felt validated, and once I felt validated, I had more confidence to demand more, and when more was not an option my partner was willing to give, my exit became available with zero guilt, and little regret. Unfortunately, the front office staff -- specifically Alicia and Brianna -- made continuing treatment here impossible. From my very first appointment, there were serious issues with billing and communication. Alicia gave me multiple different copay amounts, was rude when I asked for clarification, and created unnecessary stress during a visit where I was already anxious. The visit was handled so poorly that Brianna offered to waive it entirely -- not because I requested anything, but because the service had been that bad. Over time, it became obvious that Alicia and Brianna use the same passive-aggressive, dismissive style of communication. It's a pattern, not an isolated incident. Every interaction was overly polite on the surface but evasive and unclear underneath. Instead of answering direct questions, they consistently redirected, provided contradictory information, or responded with scripted messages that avoided accountability. At one point, I saw two completely different balances in their system -- one for $196 and another for over $600. When I asked why these numbers existed and what they were based on, Brianna's response was to bring up the waived first visit, as if that justified the inconsistency or shifted responsibility onto me. It felt like a passive-aggressive attempt to connect unrelated issues instead of providing a real explanation. And to be very direct: I don't appreciate being patronized by staff who clearly aren't equipped to explain their own billing system. My anxiety is directly tied to finances and medical billing -- something I communicated clearly. Instead of offering clarity or empathy, I was met with condescending tones and evasive answers. The last straw was Brianna throwing the waived visit back in my face after she was the one who offered it due to their poor service. I will be posting the screenshot because no patient deserves to have a "favor" used as a tool to deflect blame. It became clear that this office does not value transparency, accountability, or the emotional well-being of the people seeking care here. The provider was great, but the administrative side is chaotic, dismissive, and ultimately made this clinic feel unsafe for me. I will not be returning.

I was trying to give background so I could talk about the deep-seated issues triggered by recent interactions and events, but she literally talked over me, telling me, "I'm gonna stop you right there", then LAUGHING, and telling me I needed couple's counseling instead. I told her I've been trying to convince my spouse, but was told that I need to "fix my own stuff first", which evoked more laughter. So, I said that since I wasn't able to talk about what I needed to talk about, I figured we were done and I just needed to go. Hung up. After 4 minutes and 46 seconds of me providing comic relief to this "therapist". The whole interaction was so shocking, I found myself doing a social fake and laughing too, as if we were colleagues at a cocktail party instead of a distraught woman who's been sleeping on her classroom floor this week, and the counselor she waited days to talk to. But WAIT!! Imagine my surprise to open my email and learn that I WAS CHARGED FOR A "MISSED" VISIT!! When I called, the good people at MDLive were able to see that SHE MARKED IT AS A MISSED VISIT. So, instead of a $0 copay counseling session, I was charged fifty bucks to provide comic relief to someone who would then go on and lie about it. So, if that's the experience you're looking for, by all means, sign up. MDLive is working on reversing the charges-- they were able to see the call duration, so they confirmed that she had falsified the records.
