Friday May 16, cannot access test Because the provider has not Accessed the results or the May 5 test9s) I have called Baptist Health 3 times. Told me she would cal with results I paid for these results May5 April left a message she could not share results sight me , I would not understand! Everything is clarified on the Internet today. The wait time is unreasonably long. I only took one rapid strep test which was positive and have been waiting over an hour to see a doctor since I was notified of my positive result. They also wanted to run additional unnecessary tests like Covid and flu which I know I will have to pay some portion of even with insurance and was getting pushed to run tests that were not needed. I was here for a follow-up to a prior strep and was sure it was strep. Also, they do not prescribe medicine for people with Covid and flu and they confirmed such, yet still insisted. This review is for the urgent care. In and out in just over one hour!! That is unheard of for an urgent care. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the service I received tonight. Everyone from the front desk attendant, to security, the nurse, the Doctor, and the lady who helped me check out was attentive, nice, professional, and efficient. I saw them interact with several different people and I would say everyone received this level of care. I left quickly, but feel as if my needs were met to the fullest extent possible. Today we had an emergency with my mother in law with an internal bleeding, arrived to the clinic at 8:26pm the clinic closes at 9:00pm and we're refused service by the security guard (Moses Johnson ) that did not let us in the building because he was told to close early. Meanwhile there was only one other patient in the lobby and my family member had a life threatening condition. We insisted that they were supposed to help us and that they still over a half hour to help her. Had to drive her over to Kendall regional after and she is being treated. read more

Don't go here because you think it will be quicker! We came here because my daughter cut her finger badly and was bleeding profusely. It took them more than an hour to get her into a room despite the fact that there were few people there, and she was bleeding on the floor. We started looking for other options (since you pay urgent care prices because you hope it will be quicker than going to the hospital). When we asked how much the procedure, including stitches (since, by then, we'd found a doctor who could take her), was going to cost with our insurance, staff had no idea. They pointed us to a sign with costs for uninsured patients, which would at least give us a worst case scenario. However, the sign said things like, "Level of care/service 1." They couldn't tell us what level sutures were. Like, wouldn't stitches be a common thing for an urgent care center to deal with? Once we finally got into a room, we waited another FULL HOUR to see a nurse and a half hour for a doctor. The doctor pressured us to get an X-ray for a cut which, god knows how much THAT'S going to cost. She said the staff OUTSIDE should know how much that would cost. HA! Of course, there was no broken bone. When I asked the doctor how long it would be to get stitches if we got the (unnecessary and probably not covered by my insurance) X-ray and said we'd already been there 2+ hours, she said, sarcastically, "I'm sorry there are other people here." She was finally stitching my daughter at 2:15, three hours from the time we got there. When I asked where the doctor had gone, they blamed the delay, of course, on the approximately 5-10 minutes we spent inquiring about prices. Oh, and after my daughter finally got stitched up and the nurse applied the dressing (not even cleaning the blood off the rest of her hand) it took another 30 minutes just to get the paperwork so we could leave. So, in all, we spent close to four hours there, most of the time, with my daughter bleeding profusely, and based on my past experience with Baptist, we will pay $500-1000 WITH INSURANCE for the "convenience." I'll update when we get the bill(s). We went here because it was a weekend and because she was bleeding so heavily I thought faster would be better. I wouldn't do it again. If there is any option at all to go to a private doctor, do that. read more

Worst experience ever!!!!!!!! I had to pinch myself thinking what I went through was a nightmare. I went in for an MRI of the brain and after 3 confirmation calls for my appointment and me stating I had an IUD ((no problem by the way when I booked the appointment)) they told me after I made my $300 copay that they refused to scan me because of an IUD!?! Like WTH!?!? They stated they needed a doctor note about the type of IUD after I told them which one. The tech looked miserable and refused to do my procedure and showed NO empathy. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they told me she went home. After I refused to leave until I received a reasonable explanation, the supervisor magically appeared and patronized me treating me like I was an imbecile. I asked what's the difference if you have a letter or not the MRI machine is going to work the same way. She had no answer for me and after pleading concerned for my well-being she literally told me that my IUD would explode if I went into the machine. I was SHOCKED!!!! I left and booked with another establishment that had no issues after I explained my experience. My GYNO called and stated BAPTIST IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT GIVES ISSUES! A real lifesaver, this super convenient health clinic is run by Baptist Health Hospital, a well respected Hospital brand, in Miami-Dade. It's branded an Urgent Care Center where you need serious treatment when your doctor isn't available and it's not THAT serious to merit an ER visit. So it's open on the weekend and for late hours, like 11pm every day! It deserves a public service announcement. It reminded me of the university health clinic I had at UM where you could walk in and get service the same day. Now that I'm a working stiff I have to shoot for a 50/50 chance of being able to see my doctor same day. Case in point, I developed an extremely bad eye infection on Friday, late in the day that I shrugged off till Saturday where it worsened and it was too late to see my regular doctor. By Sunday I was in a panic and found out about this place and by 2pm, I was able to see a doctor and get a prescription. Otherwise, I would have waited till Monday, maybe Tues. to get this thing treated. I'm only giving them 4-stars instead of 5 because the doctor didn't fill out my prescription form entirely thus causing a hassle at the pharmacy. So I came here last night because I fell and thought there was a possibility that I broke my wrist. We walked in at 10:45 PM, we didn't realize they closed at 11. We walked in and there were no other patients in the lobby. The front desk lady greeted us and asked us to fill out some papers. As I was filling them out, the nurse called me in and the front desk lady told my fiance to finish filling out the forms. So while I was in the room apparently my signature was needed on some forms at the front desk. The lady at the front told my fiance "oh just sign for her and put her initials too, but make sure to put her signature not hers" uhmmmm... okay pretty sure that's illegal. What the heck. So the nurse that came to get me took me into a room and either she didn't speak English or didn't feel like it. She only spoke to me in Spanish which was extremely frustrating because my Spanish isn't 100% and it was very stereotypical of her. So normally they would weigh you and what not, since they were clearly in a rush to get me out of there the lady was just like oh so how much do you weigh and how tall are you. She was so in a rush she was pretty much answering things by guessing since I was struggling to translate. She then proceeded to tell me she was going to give me a tetanus shot just in case (ok, sure, fine). If it weren't for the fact that I had a shirt on which was hard to roll up the sleeves she would have stuck me with the shot before I had the opportunity to agree to it. Another lady came in to clean my wound which was on the palm of my hand. She cleaned it fine, she spoke English so I was happy. She then however tried putting a bandaid over it. Uhm anybody who's ever been a child knows that they don't stick on the palms off hands ESPECIALLY after putting what I assume was some sort of Neosporin (not that she said what she was putting on it). So she got a bigger bandaid, which still didn't stick... The X-ray person (yes, that's 3 different people so far) came in next to take me for the X-ray. He was the kindest person I encountered and the only one who really seemed to care about the way he treated me. The x-rays were over quickly and I was returned to my room. After waiting for the x-rays to process another person ( I'm assuming the actual doctor & person #4) came in. He looked at my wrist and then saw I had taken the bandaid off and told the nurse to another bandaid. I feel like I have to explain that this cut was not big like at all and definitely not my primary concern. So she comes back in DOESNT PUT GLOVES ON and starts attending to me. Uhm gross. She then also starts putting a splint on my wrist without informing me of the results of the x-rays (my wrist was thankfully not broken) and puts my arm in a sling which was unnecessary. The Dr. Also gave me a prescription for ibuprofen which I said I didn't want but was given anyways. This all occurred in less than an hour because they were clearly not happy we got there as they were almost closing. This was the least professional doctor's office/urgent Care I have ever visited and honestly they weren't most reassuring either. Next time I'll just go to the ER and wait the obnoxious wait time. read more

Upon arrival my information was taken and I was asked to wait in my car. Ten minutes later I was taken in, both doctors and nurses were caring, efficient and polite. Due to my symptoms 3 different tests were performed with the corresponding wait time of 20 minutes each for results. Prescriptions were then called to my pharmacy of choice. I requested a COVID test and received the results from Bioreference Lab 4 days later. Negative if you want to know. Deducting one star because they called the prescription to a pharmacy I had used a few months back. I always call to see if meds are ready so it took only a couple of minutes to correct. read more

Came in because I have a new born who is only a few weeks old and I noticed nipple blanching and possible thrush. People in the waiting room were coughing. Instead of putting me right away to reduce my exposure to illness which my baby could get they kept me in the waiting room for more than half an hour. Talk about a liability. I hope my baby and I don't catch anything from this visit. Super nerve wrecking!!!! They should have a separate room for people who have the flu or could have anything contagious. read more

This is not exactly they type of place that people want to read reviews on but if we want to maintain our health there are certain little tortures that we have to go through and why not do it in as nice a place as possible? When (not if) you have to go for your routine medical screenings, this is definitely the best place to go for that. The location is convenient on bird road near 87th ave. Even if this wasn't close to home for me, I would come out of my way to come here. Contacting them by phone is a pleasant experience and they usually have appointments available days instead of weeks in the future. When you get to the facility, the parking is a breeze and the waiting room is clean, spacious and never crowded. They provide free beverages and a big screen TV that you don't really get to enjoy much because you barely have a wait. They honor your appointment to the minute, are super professional, friendly and efficient. I am very big on customer service and everyone that works here, from the front desk staff to the techs, is wonderful! Good job! read more

I will never ever return to this place, i am super displeased with the medical advice "treatment" I was prescribed he diagnosed otitis externa when even my jaw is hurting and sent me to get some eardrop with antibiotic when I told him that this had not worked for me in the past. Suffice to say I have had countless doctors visits for the past 10 days including 2 urgent care walkings related to this matter and he did not care to consider alternative treatment. To top it off I selected to pick up the drugs at the clinic but they said that I had to go to a pharmacy to get it I asked them it they sent it to my pharmacy which it was very far and they said no that i couls get it from any pharmacy so I go to the Navarros next door and after waiting for 15 minutes they tell me that I have to go to my pharmacy... there you go 30 more minutes in pain for free. Avoid coming to this urgent care at all costs. Staff is ignorant and they don't know how to manage this facility. Four hours waiting with the Flu and chest pain. I had three people in line before me and they added another three. If you decide to come here be prepared to spend majority of your night here. I will never come here again. I'm absolutely certain the people waiting with me would agree with me. This place is a complete disaster. I've been to MD Now and Navarro's minute clinic and my visits have been efficient and I would go back to them any day. Okay, this place truly blows. First off, you look on their web site and they say the average wait is 15 minutes. There could be an explosion on the corner of bird and 87 avenue and everyone rushes to this place and they would still say 15 minutes average wait time. In other words, it means nothing. Let me break it down for you. You will be spending 45 minutes sitting in the waiting room until they call you. Then you will be spending 10 minutes with the intake person. They they will throw you in the examination room for over one hour. I decided after 2 hours and 15 minutes to leave. As I opened the examination room door, the doctor advised that I would be seen in approximately 10 minutes. I declined and left. In summary, avoid this place, they lie with regards to their wait time, they are slow to see patients and they basically could care less if you wait for hours on end. Seems they have lost the concept of quick care. By the way, all I had was a cold that would probably have required a Z Pack at most. Seriously, 2 hours and 15 minutes wasted. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, there is a reason this place has such low reviews. read more

Though the staff was very nice, I had a very unpleasant experience... and it's not because I got stitches. I visited the urgent care center since it's nearby my house and I got a cut on my hand which I felt wasn't serious enough for a hospital visit. I thought everything went well. I got a few comments once I left on how it seemed like I didn't have enough stitches, but didn't think anything of it. When I returned for the follow-up, the Dr. that time said I should've had more stitches, but I just needed to be extra careful or it could split open. I was there almost 2 hours for that and to be told it looked ok, not infected. The website said it would be a 30min wait. A couple of days later (last night), one of my stitches fell out. The other one is super tight. I returned today hoping they'd just put the one stitch back in, but was given a Band-Aid and told to go see a plastic surgeon. I was there about 3 hours today... the website said 15 min wait. I understand there are several other patients, so wait time can vary from one minute to the next. I wouldn't be as upset of the time spent if I'd actually been taken care of properly to begin with. Also, there are several different Dr's, so hope you get a good one. read more

If you face a large deductible from your insurance company, which most of us do these days then STAY AWAY from Baptist systems for minor issues such as stitches or x-rays for a possible broken bone. THEY CHARGE TRIPLE what the other walk-in clinics charge! I was shocked and dismayed. I went to the walk-in clinic in baptist to get my foot x-rayed after I dropped a heavy object on it and my foot blew up and turned blue. The school nurse said I should have it x-rayed just in case. I had it x-rayed and I was put into a boot and sent home in a timely manner. No break, thank God. Then I am presented a $778 dollar bill for xrays on my foot. I called several walk-in clinics in the area that are not in the Baptist Healthcare System and they said that my out of pocket expenses would be $175.00 for x-rays and consultation. $75 per x-ray. When I told Baptist about the price discrepancy, I got no help and a little attitude. I could ask to have the bill reviewed. Which I did on a Monday and received a letter in the mail on a Wednesday that the case has been reviewed and that I was on the hook for the full $778. This is robbery - plain and simple. I assume that they need to pay for the new beautiful cancer center so the prices have been inflated to cover their new expenses. If it is a minor thing such as stitches or possible broken bone DO NOT PAY BAPTIST PRICES! Thoroughly disgusted with this non-profit, monopoly. read more

Another nurse only checked her blood pressure. We had to leave after 1 hour because no doctor came to assist her.
