Do not go to this hospital. They sent me home with severe kidney infection with meds they had to know I could not keep down.

If you are considering surgery with Dr. Butler or anyone at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery, I strongly…read moreencourage you to read this review carefully. I underwent a primary rhinoplasty with Dr. Butler in July 2024. During my consultation, I clearly stated my two main goals: reducing my dorsal hump and lifting or rotating the nasal tip. Dr. Butler told me that my tip angle was already appropriate and that reducing the dorsal hump would cause the tip to "fix itself." Although I questioned this explanation, I trusted his professional judgment and proceeded with surgery. From the early postoperative period, it was evident that something was wrong. Even with the cast still on, my nasal tip appeared droopy and unsupported. I also want to note that no taping or support was ever used postoperatively to help maintain tip position. I was repeatedly reassured that this was normal and advised to "give it time." At cast removal, the issue became more apparent. Although swelling masked some of the deformity, my tip remained rotated downward, consistent with a developing pollybeak deformity. I again raised concerns and was told that all swelling had "settled into the tip" from the cast and that there was nothing to worry about. Between two and three months post-op, after moving out of state, I sent multiple emails to Dr. Butler's nurse expressing concern about my collapsed, downward-drooping tip and a prominent bump at the tip of my nose that appeared to be protruding cartilage. These concerns were again dismissed and attributed to swelling due to my being "very active," and I was told I would need to wait until six months post-op for evaluation. At my six-month in-person appointment, my appearance had not improved and had, in fact, worsened. I raised my concerns directly with Dr. Butler regarding the obvious pollybeak deformity. His response was dismissive; he stated, "Someone's been online, haven't they," and told me that my nose looked great and that he "wouldn't have changed a thing." No revision, corrective plan, or financial accommodation was offered. Following this appointment, I consulted with three well-known U.S. revision rhinoplasty specialists, all of whom independently confirmed a clear pollybeak deformity, a droopy and under-rotated tip, and protruding cartilage irregularities. Ultimately, I required revision rhinoplasty at fifteen months post-op, at an additional cost of $15,000. Several months after my surgery, I reviewed the practice's website and was shocked to find my photos being used in a misleading manner. Although I signed a photo release, I did not consent to false or deceptive representation. The photo labeled as my "before" image is actually my six-month post-op result, while the photo labeled as my "after" image appears to be taken within the first month post-op, when swelling temporarily obscured the deformity. The website claims the "after" photo was taken at four months post-op, despite me not having a four-month appointment. If my nose truly "looked great," it is concerning that my unsatisfactory six-month result was used as a "before" image. I have attached screenshots and accurate before-and-after photos for reference. I reached out to the office to express my concerns regarding my postoperative care and the misleading use of my photos and received no response. I am sharing my experience so that others can make a fully informed decision and avoid the physical, emotional, and financial distress that I endured.

Due to complications following a knee replacement, resulting in a spacer placement in my left knee,…read moreI elected to initiate rehabilitation in a facility dedicated to meeting those needs immediately after being discharged from the hospital. This is the 1st time I have done so. I usually go straight home. My friend and home health care physical therapist suggested I transition to a rehab facility prior to going home because of the challenges of being below the knee amputee on my right leg, it would be in my best interest and moving towards the best possible outcome. She recommended Encompass because she had heard good things. I can now personally testify to the EXCELLENT care I received over an 8 day stay. From the moment I was delivered into Encompass care until the moment I was discharged and on my way home, I received a quality of care that I have never experienced before. Every nurse, nursing tech, and physical therapist who implemented the care prescribed for me was exceptional. They listened to my concerns and reassured me as to the plans in place to meet my needs. Because this procedure is part of a series of steps needed to give me complete control of my quality of life they took care to explain clearly how everything would work together when the new hardware was installed and I was ultimately able to live my best life. And those were the folks I had minute by minute interaction with. My case worker, the doctors, and administrators were on point to ensure that they clearly directed the care my people implemented and made happen. I experienced the full spectrum of emotions from despair to joy, and my team was there and available to hold my hand or celebrate our victory. And that word TEAM is the most important to me. Encompass gave me a Team approach to successfully transitioning back home while continuing to progress to the new hardware installation. After which I will return to Encompass to complete this process knowing that my Team is there to support my needs whatever they may be in this next stage. I can not stress how incredible the people who make up Encompass are. From the top of the food chain to Mr. Bob in the kitchen to Hazel who cleaned up after me. My gratitude is immense and my recommendation is without caveat or hesitation.

Brand new hospital and I was excited to use it when needed. I had an ultrasound done here and when…read moremy GYN in Tampa got it, they couldn't get the image because my bladder was too full. I had to do the ultrasound with a full bladder, go pee, then do another ultrasound. The ultrasound tech acted like everything was all good. If she needed me pee again I would have since they had me drink so much water! How do you not do your job and decide that you're done. So, they Don't tell the patient they couldn't do their job, send the non result to your GYN then bill for it? I called to complain that the ultrasound tech didn't do her job and I needed a do over or not get billed since she just didn't give a crap enough to do her job correctly. They had me go around in circles and never got back to me. Finally I left to go back abroad and dropped it. I'm back in Pensacola and now I'm here in the ER with my son. It took 5 hours to be seen when he came in dehydrated from food poisoning. I told the check in desk he needed an IV. The nurse that took my son's blood and urine sample yelled out our Spanish last name and when we walked up she yelled "Do you speak English!" If there were a language barrier I'm sure the intake nurse would have said something. Not sure if she's Racist but this Pensacola nurse just felt like showing her ass out loud. The doctor was super quick. The nurse in the room was in shock that my son didn't already have a line in his arm. She said "racist" nurse was supposed to put one in. This room nurse was messy. She messed up putting the IV line in my son's left arm and had to start over on his right arm. She left bloody alcohol pads on the bed next to him and I had to point out that she left the needle out next to his arm before she picked it up (after she took her gloves off, which means she didn't mean to pick it up). I asked why the blood pressure machine was making a weird noise and she said because it's picking up an error. Mind you the next door neighbor's machine was also beeping the same way and they don't care to fix it. They just let it annoyingly beep on error for HOURS! If you don't care about the reading, why hook it up? Oh I know why, so you can bill for it! I tell my husband all the time that I don't like hospitals or doctors in Pensacola because they don't give a sh:t here. After having a bad experience with a Pensacola gynecologist that wanted me to get a DNC (the Tampa General doctors said thank God I refused) I will not use a Primary Care here. I'll fly back home to Tampa or Panama every time. I did take my husband to Sacred Heart once and although it was packed with triple the amount of patients waiting, we were in and out in 2 hours. I thought coming here would be better because it's new. Boy was I wrong! It's new but due to the workers (doctors and nurses, not just the cleaning crew not giving a damn that the place is dirty.) I will say that the doctor did give us plenty of time to ask questions in the end, and he gave my son a prescription for nausea so he can keep food down which was the only good thing about the emergency visit. The IV brought my son back to life, literally. Online it said that with food poisoning you need to go to the ER to get an IV if it's been over 48 hours of not keeping anything down. The extra 6 hours it took at the ER wasn't helpful. The triage can do a better job at knowing the time people need assistance. We are not a family they get sick much, but if anyone needs an IV next time I'll just order an IV therapy service like I do to get vitamins in before a trip! It's actually more economical to have such a luxury service anyhow. I'll fly to Tampa or Panama for anything else as getting care at the newest hospital doesn't give me hope for Pensacola at all.

A PAINFUL EXPERIENCE…read more I am extremely disappointed with the care I received from Dr. Gupta and his team at Baptist Hospital today. I came in for a blood patch procedure to treat severe spinal headaches--something that is already known to be painful. Prior to the procedure, I specifically asked for pain management support, but I was told that anesthesia was not provided. Just as I though, the procedure itself was extremely painful, and immediately afterward, the doctor left the room while I was still in significant distress, crying and asking for help. While in recovery, I repeatedly requested relief for the pain, and eventually a nurse brought me a dose of Norco, which did nothing to alleviate what I was experiencing. When my sister entered the room, I was visibly overwhelmed--crying, in severe pain, and with elevated blood pressure. Instead of receiving compassionate care, I was later told that because I have a pain management doctor, no additional pain medication would be provided. This felt dismissive and lacked any consideration of my immediate condition. What troubled me most was the lack of empathy and responsiveness. Pain was clearly visible, yet it did not seem to be taken seriously. As a Black woman, I am aware of the ongoing concerns about our pain being underestimated or dismissed, and unfortunately, this experience reflected that reality in a very personal way today. I had heard so many positive things about Dr. Gupta, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Compassion, communication, and patient-centered care should be standard for every patient. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
