What a GREAT deal! A giant burger and draft beer for $13 all day long!! The burger had to be 8 oz. with cheese, lettuce tomatoes and condiments. The fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. Paired well with a Hazy IPA!!! read more

The first time was the last time! Food was mediocre at best and service was pathetic. Bartender and waitress have no conversation for me. Didn't even bother to ask me how was my meal or drink. Never checked to see if I need anything else. However, they were super friendly with the regular customers. They sent a clear message that they didn't want my business through their nonverbal actions. Never again will I patronize this establishment. read more

Bar 101 has one of the most disgusting bathrooms in Charleston. It's a fine bar but constantly smells of a combination of sewer gas, urine, and bleach. Nonetheless, the owners know it's a popular spot and refuses to reinvest money to clean it up a bit. read more

I've been coming to this bar for many years and I've been there through different owners & staff. The new ownership is great. It's still the same great watering hole. I like that they have a bar side food menu. I love the pho / ramen bowls they now offer, also. I do wish that when the bar is open, they'd offer more than wings, chicken egg rolls, fries, sweet potato fries on Sunday nights. That's a really random selection and it doesn't make sense. I ordered delivery for lunch for the first time. I love that they offer delivery. Makes things very convenient during the day as downtown parking is awful during the day. However, our food was just ok. I know this bar has great food but it should be consistently good. Our salads & burgers were ok but nothing to get hype over for $10 a pop. I tried the soup they forgot then delivered to be after I called them...and it was super bland. I want to show my love & support for the owners but the food is a hit or a miss. The service at the bar is sometimes a hit or a miss. However, none of this will stop me from popping in in the future. read more

The bar is ok. The bartenders are kinna rude, but the dj and everything else are great.

Overpriced and horrible staff. AVOID. Went for a couple beers before dinner at the adjoining sushi place next door, Ichiban. The bartender was rude and acted like we were bothering him by asking for drinks, so we took our beers to a table by the window. Then the waitress acted like we were bothering her. Had two draft Stella Artois and two draft Dead Guy Ales, it was $24. That's right, $24 dollars for four draft beers. Ugh. Never again. read more

Lance inside bar 101 is excellent. As a Kentuckian, it's nice to have a bartender that knows a lot about bourbon. He's also really friendly. We come to ichiban because they have the best sushi in town. However, our service inside ichiban has been hit or miss (that's being kind about it). You can order sushi and other menu items from ichiban inside Bar 101, and will have way better service, especially if Lance is your bartender! Highly recommend. read more

Last night was my 4th visit to Bar 101. I like to play Team Trivia and they host the game on Tues nights. I sat at the table for 25 minutes without a single staff member asking me if I wanted something to eat or drink. When I ordered an appetizer it took 45 minutes for it to be served. This is the worst service ever but it seems to be par for the course at this place. Won't go back. read more

They changed. They made a casual bar into a dance club. I was accepted into Ichiban with no problems, but when I went into there for a birthday I was asked to change because of my Pirates Jersey. It is sad I can give that business $60 and then asked to leave when i walked 5 steps into a bar. Charleston needs a casual bar where I can talk to friends, not more clubs. read more

we stopped in here when we went to pies and pints because of the wait. So we had a drink and the prices were normal nothing out of the ordinary or expensive. The drink was made right and tasted good. There were maybe 5 ppl sitting at the bar seemed not busy for a fri evening. But the staff was nice and funny. read more

We stopped in this place at happy hour and the clientele seemed like an after work business crowd. Nice atmosphere. We didn't eat, just had a couple of drinks. Higher prices even at happy hour but worth the money. read more

I've been going here for trivia night for about two months. Service on the 1st night was great but has slowly went downhill each week. Tonight was the end of my time attending this bar. We were promptly asked what we'd like when we got there and that was the end of any attention we got. We had no service at all while the bartenders went to every table around us keeping their drinks and food up. When finally being fed up with being blatantly ignored I managed to grab someone attention and tell them we'd like our bills and explained how we had been treated. After 15 minutes we were still being ignored, I finally chased down the manager and told him what was going on. Still waited another 10 minutes to get our checks. We've never been rude, bad tippers or expected above average service but this was disgusting. I've received better service at dive bars than this establishment. We were never give a simple apology or explanation for the obvious discrimination. This is a 1 Star Bar parading as an upscale joint. Don't believe the hype. read more

Drinks are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Good atmosphere and don't have to worry about the Charleston trash walking in.

You really can't go wrong with the late night menu. The Korean Wings, the Tempura chicken nuggets, the spicy tuna roll, and the hella good 101 Roll. Some great if pricy draft beers complete the picture. read more

If I could rate a 0 I would. Instead of any service we had 0. I ordered m first beer from our waitress and then had to go up to the bar for my second. From then on was a complete catastrophe. 30 minutes after I got my second beer i was asked by the apparent "manager". The manager got me another beer and finally took my food order for I was hungry. After my sushi was brought out, I always made eye contact with both the waitress and "manager" however never got any attention from either. 20 minutes after trivia had ended we decided we had had enough of this mediocre service for we were one of the last 2 tables left and went to the connected restraunt under the same ownership called Ichiban just to check out. Seeing how upset we were, the bartender next door came over and checked us out. Hopefully that is the last time we will ever be in that horrible establishment in my own hometown. I am extremely disappointed knowing how good of a restaurant Ichiban is yet such lackluster of service at their sister bar bar 101. I will never be back and would rather buy beer at 7-11 and eat at the Jimmy Johns diagonal from this horrible establishment. read more
