Great experience here. Really the majority of the 5 stars goes to Amy S, who was our waitress. Not to take anything away from the food or the ambiance or the opposite wall hung paintings of Anthony Michael Hall and Molly Ringwald from Breakfast Club. But Amy was very good with answering our questions and giving her opinions on various dishes, as well as her interactions with Oliver We started with some wings with house hot sauce and an order of cheddar and candied jalapeño fries. Both were very good, the candied jalapeños had a nice heat but were not rude. I had a Cubano sammich, as you know I am a sucker for these and once again - no plancha!! This one wasn't even squished in a George Foreman grill. Just served on a (good and tasty and crunchy) bread. Oliver had a cheeseburger and fries, and the table order was rounded out with a braised beef sandwich. That was declared by Amy as the number 1 sandwich at the place. Oh jeez I almost forgot - they've got several beers and Amy was again a font of knowledge asking us what kinds of beers we liked and helping craft suggestions based upon what we liked.

We came on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately. We had a lot of questions and our waitress (Amy S) was FABULOUS!!!! Patient, funny, knowledgeable, helpful. She was 5 star. She's largely the reason this ended up as a 5-star review. We started with the wings (excellent) and one of the specialty fries (also excellent). I went with the beef sandwich. Not my unusual kinda order. So the sandwich in my eyes was just okay. Buuuut I ordered something that's not my norm so I think the "just okay" is more a reflection of my tastes than the quality of the sandwich.

This small restaurant packed loads of flavorful great food. It was quite busy late on a Saturday. This is one of only a few restaurants in Charleston actually open past 9 pm. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. At one point, the bartender aggressively told us to wait on the other side of the room. There really is no good space to stand and wait for a table-and that interaction had me questioning our restaurant choice. Luckily, the food and our server saved the day. We ordered the Fernburner burger, the Rise & Shine burger, and the Braised Beef sandwich. All come with fries and house made pickles. The pickles were nice and zingy and the fries were crispy perfection. The burgers and sandwiches were flavorful and had us all saying "yum!" Our server was busy, but nice. He described dishes and made a great recommendation for the Rise & Shine. 4 stars because they were out of the ingredients for The Goat burger, so that was a bummer. They initially forgot the jus for the braised beef au jus (this added lots of flavor to the sandwich) and we had to remind our server that we needed napkins. There is a sports bar vibe- lots of cheering for college baseball- which is fine- but is also a specific kind of atmosphere.

Fernbank is up a mountain from South Charleston /Downtown Charleston. I wouldn't advise going up here on a stormy day (1010 was up here too so we skipped it). To enter their building ADA, park on the street. Otherwise there are a couple flights of stairs. Food was really good. Sounds like you can't go wrong ordering anything. Even the wings were big and delish. Service was angry. Other people dining were friendly. Upstairs was a bar you could sit at and tables and then outside downstairs was a few tables that were full service.

Such a great local hidden gem. My fiancé and I came for an early dinner before the snow started last night. We got the mozzarella pearls and the shishito peppers to start. So good! The pear cocktail is also awesome. Definitely will come back! Side note: they really need to get a website with their menu! Might be on Facebook, but that makes it so hard to find them!

Glad to see they added some small tables to the front, something we've been waiting for. Better shade than in the rear! This will be great during the bike races! The food was excellent as usual, though this time the mozz balls were too salty. We split the Hot Honey and Pimento Chicken sandwich and fries (their portions are generous.) This was noteworthy - Somehow they lost our order, but after realizing it, literally 3 people apologized for it: our waitress, the guy who delivered our food to our table, and then one of the owners. We honestly didn't even mind because we were taking our time with some drinks, but this was great to see them taking responsibility together as a team, no excuses and no blame game. Our waiters have always been good, and I've noticed we've seen most of the same waiters since they opened, which is a good sign and makes the place seen more like a reliable and comfortable local spot. Parking is limited, but we never have trouble finding a spot in the shopping center about 150 feet toward downtown, so we always just go straight to that lot.

We have stopped here a couple of times since their opening and I have to say I'm always pretty impressed. They put out pretty great food and the staff are always super friendly. It's a little cramped inside and can get loud, but they make the most of the environment. We all loved their ranch they make and all the food options are very tasty. Would highly recommend!

Wings and shishitos were great. Corn salad - nothing special but the buttermilk ranch dressing was good. Cute restaurant space. They had 2 sour beers on tap amongst others. I would come back to try their burgers and sandwiches.

The Good: It's a tiny little eatery smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We arrived around 5pm on a Wednesday evening and were seated immediately. The waitress took our drink order and our appetizer request. The appetizer came out within minutes of ordering. I ordered the Fernburger, a spicy burger featuring sriracha mayonnaise, spicy cheese and jalapeños. My son chose a build your own burger with double meat and bacon. My wife ordered a Chicken Club. The food was fantastic. The burgers were huge, and the fries were great. My wife's Chicken Club was great. The price was fair, especially considering how big the meat was and how fresh the toppings were. The Bad: Parking, or lack thereof. The parking lot was packed. The street parking was full. We ended up parking down the block at Walgreens and walking. I called ahead, expecting to be put on a waiting list. There was no wait I was informed. When we arrived, there was maybe two tables taken. The building has huge windows, which meant little to no insulation. It was about 20° outside, and about 50° inside. Cell Service (obviously not their fault, but as soon as you step outside you have 5G service so...Also, the general lack of customization options: We were hoping to substitute honey mustard on the chicken sandwich, not available. Onion Rings instead of fries, again not an option. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The food was fantastic. The service was impeccable. The prices were on point. On a nice day, the walk would've been fine. The temperature would've been a non-issue. Even the lack of options wasn't a deal breaker. We enjoyed our experience very much!

We have finally found our go to burger place! The Elote dip and wings were amazing as well. Absolutely delicious!

We found this great little local gem with excellent hamburgers and craft cocktails off Yelp . Plenty of burger choices and the toppings were creative , the fries were crispy and the service fast and polite. I'll be back next time I'm passing thru Charleston. Cute decor with pop art too.

Small intimate space. Maybe 8 tables. A lot of people sat at the bar. We gave it a try today for the first time. Kelly Ann was our server and she was great. Friendly, welcoming and attentive. At first I thought the menu was a little light. Burgers, sandwiches, salads and apps. We started with fried mozzarella balls. They were just ok. They weren't melty of hot enough. Maybe they had sat in the kitchen a while. Flavor was good though. We both ordered burgers. I got a single with white cheddar and the works. My fella got a double thinking they'd be small thin patties. Boy were we wrong. Big thick juicy patties full of flavor! So big he ended up having to finish with his knife and fork. The toppings were fresh, crisp and perfect! The buns were amazing, and I know.... How is bread amazing? I don't know but it was. Fries were great, too! We'll definitely be back. Charleston food scene is definitely moving up!!!!

Food was good, space and parking are AWFUL! I had read reviews of this place online and wanted to try it. The appetizers were great! Mozzarella balls lightly breaded. Simple tasty fare. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my friend ordered the burger and we split them so we could try one of each. The chicken sandwich had a great flavor, but was really dry. The burger was great too. I have a sesame allergy and they were attentive to making sure the buns had no ingredients in them. The restaurant has a nice ambiance. Similar to a coffee shop or bistro. It's really small. We had a party of six and had to wait for 15 minutes for a table big enough to accommodate all of us. They have a bar & it takes a majority of the space. We were told there was outside dining options available too, but it was a really warm day, so we wanted to dine in. Food didn't take long to be served, but refills were kind of hard to get. We did go on a Friday, so it was busy. The parking situation is the reason for one less star. You have to park on the street and walk. Lola's is located near it, so it's hard to find adequate parking. But, if you don't mind a hike, the food is worth it! Just ask for extra mayo if you don't like dry sandwiches.

My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine. But the experience was not worth my money, not even if it was half the cost honestly.

The food felt legitimately high quality, like they're putting real care into the ingredients and preparation. I ordered the steak, and it was flavorful with a really good garlic butter that complemented it perfectly. Juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just how I wanted. The loaded fries were excellent too (maybe a touch salty, but in that addictive way), and they came with this awesome ranch that tied everything together. I got the half order, and let me tell you, it was massive. Easily enough for 3-4 people to share. The mac and cheese was solid as well, creamy and comforting without being over the top. What surprised me most was the value. For the caliber of food and the portions they're serving, the prices were very reasonable. Honestly better than I expected for something this good. Service was on par, if not a bit more professional than you'd usually find at a casual spot like this. Everyone was attentive without being pushy, and it made the whole meal feel smooth.
