Great food, wonderful vibe, good service and excellent beer list. We were pleased by the food, which is heavy on the burgers. They could add a veggie burger, which would add lots of options for vegetarians. We met the chef, and we complemented him on his creative ideas, for example blue cheese on the roasrted Brussels Sprouts, which addded lots of flavor. I was happy to see several beers from Grist House on their draft list (which was heavily IPA). Our food arrived quickly and it was cooked to perfection. There are lots of TV screens if you want to watch a game.

    Brunch deliciousness!

We popped in for the May Days in Millvale, and we were pleasantly greeted by the bartender, Lily. She was attentive and kind, and she gave us descriptions of some of the brunch options that were listed. I love a good crepe, especially when savory, and let me tell you, this was delicious! On the thicker side for a crepe, this sweet pastry wrapped around perfectly cooked eggs and juicy bacon, and was every breakfast lover's dream come true! To the side, perfectly cooked hash browns with a delectable herb flavor. My friend decided to be adventurous and ordered the Cap'n Crunch French toast, over which he rolled his eyes with delight! I don't think the population of Pittsburgh knows about this gem yet...no problem getting a seat at the bar. Pair that with the welcoming atmosphere, and Millvale has a hot new brunch spot! Highly recommended! Cheers to Bill and Lily, and thanks for a great visit!

This is a hidden gem in the heart of Millvale. Really a beautiful spot. Updated, modern and smoke-free. This is an establishment you'd expect to find in Lawrenceville or Brooklyn. Prices are fair and they come up with some really fun drink ideas and specials. Didn't get a chance to eat but can't wait to come back for a bite. Definitely worth checking out!

Last week, I was heading to a concert at Mr. Smalls and I wanted to grab some food beforehand so I looked up Millvale restaurants and found Bar 3. It had good reviews, so I figured I would give it a try! Thank you other Pittsburgh area Yelpers! I loved the atmosphere of Bar 3! It's perfect for a date night or a meal with friends. It's very spacious- a mixture of high and low tables. You seat yourself, so I sat at a low top table in the back of the restaurant. It's very clean and fresh! Since it was so hot on Friday, I didn't order a beer or cocktail- but they a great selection of local brews! To start, we ordered the pretzels. You get 4 pretzels for $9. They were very good - I definitely order them again! For my entree, I ordered the steak salad. To be honest it was kinda of small to be paying $13 for the size of the salad. The steak was cooked just right and the salad was delicious. My friend ordered the crab salad - she said it was good but also very small. Overall, I'm glad Bar 3 is now open in Millvale. I will definitely be back and try something new.

What a wonderful find in the quaint town of Millvale! The modern spacious decor and layout presents you with an excellent opportunity to have a quiet romantic dinner or lunch, or a rambunctious rowdy time with a group of friends. The service is prompt, courteous, and friendly. And the food/ fresh, delicious, and plentiful. We have been taking advantage of the Monday nite burger special which combines the most unique things to please and tantalize your palate. These enormous burgers also come with tasty fries which add to the exceedingly good value and amazing taste! Based on the contents of the various burgers( the very freshest and seasoned perfectly) I would say you could try anything in the menu and be delightfully satisfied! One of our favorite Millvale stops!!

On my first visit I learned I arrived way to early for it to open so I decided to return on the weekend. I had a wonderful waitress and basically had the whole place to myself! The seating area is small with TVs blasting everywhere and your bar is in the front. I sat towards the back so I could enjoy something off the Sunday brunch menu. Since it was early afternoon I decided to try a lunch sandwich of chicken. All brunch items come with a side of hash browns. I was hot so I just asked for ice tea and they brewed some up just for me! I was grateful. I got my food fairly fast and she even gave me some ketchup for my hash browns. Both the sandwich and the hash browns were delicious! I was afraid the hash browns would be overly greasy but they weren't. I learned that on weekends they switch over to the regular menu after 2 and now they have added Friday earlier hours so they can serve lunch. Normally with the major hockey playoffs going on this place will get jammed later and parking is free on Sunday. They do offer free WiFi here since reception is very bad.My only slight problem was that my table seemed a bit high from my chair but I was able to manage. Located only a few doors down from Jean-Marc Chattilier's French bakery, metered street parking is available. This place has a nice decor to it and is reasonably priced. I learned they had opened in March so they are relatively new to area. It is a simple drive back to Rt 28 where you can get to some of the more known neighborhoods in less than 10 minutes.

I stopped into Bar 3 after reading other great Yelp reviews. I'm not familiar with Millvale & was attending a show around the corner at Mr. Smalls & wanted to grab a bite pre-show. I sat at the bar & was promptly greeted by the female bartender who was very friendly. I ordered a Grist House beer of which several were on tap & she pointed out which ones were IPAs, etc. The beer was cold & fresh. They have a fairly large menu for a small place and I ordered the steak & Gorgonzola flatbread. It came with spring mix salad & tomatoes on top & a side of balsamic vinaigrette dressing. It was good, but not great. I liked their menu choices & they have daily specials too, but I was surprised that appetizers cost basically as much as entrees $12-$14 seemed average for both. My flatbread was $14. Maybe I'm getting old, but for a bar in Millvale I considered that pricey. Having said that, the decor is nice, staff friendly, convenient to Mr. Smalls & menu selection covered burgers, pasta, salads & flatbreads. So a good place to stop into when you're in the area.

We have lived in Millvale for three years, one year longer than Bar 3 has even been open and have just now gotten around to visiting. What's worse, is that we live almost directly across the street. Tonight, on a whim, we decided to walk across the street for a quick, light dinner and boy are we glad we did. First of all, Bar 3 has a really nice, modern and very clean interior. My only gripe is that the marble bar and table tops along with the metal chairs, give the place a somewhat cold and harsh feel. A nice wooden bar and table tops and leather/wood chairs would really warm the place up, but that's nitpicking... On our visit there were several other guests both at the bar and at the tables and Mark, the lone bartender/server was handling it like a champ. We were glad we got a chance to introduce ourselves to our Millvale neighbors and the service was really great. For "dinner" we chose the whole wings with the garlic butter sauce, the fried Brussel sprouts and a Ruben sandwich. The wings were large, crispy and flavorful and not drenched in sauce, which I really like. On Wednesdays whole wings are $1 each which is an absolute bargain, one we will be taking advantage of soon. The fried Brussel sprouts topped with blu cheese and balsamic were also very good although they would have been even better if they were just a little crispier and more "roasted". I didn't try the Ruben, but my fiancé really liked it. They also have a nice selection of local beers on tap, which is a real plus. All in all, Bar 3 is a real gem in the heart of Millvale and I'm glad they are here and that we finally decided to give them a try. My only regret is that we waited so long...

Shrimp po boy with a side of slaw. Great sandwich!

Their food hours are inaccurate. The service is subpar and the music is horrible: I'm pretty sure the bartender is drunk and it's only 10PM.

There was a friendly gal at the door taking names and numbers. I could hardly believe the wait time but decided to put down my name and do a little window shopping during the wait. We were eventually called and texted to let us know our table was ready. Our table was in the very back corner, next to a group of girls loudly talking about their drunken escapades the night before. It was entertaining to say the least. Our server was super friendly and accommodating to dietary restrictions/modifications. I ordered a Turkish Benedict on gluten free toast.... So. Good. Amazing flavors. My daughter got the croissant avocado toast which she loved. I also got a pistachio latte and was pleasantly surprised to see the used pistachio butter and not a syrup. It was lovely. I had to keep my child from drinking it all! While the wait was long, it was definitely worth it. The space is smaller than I imagined. The food came out fast for how packed it was. It's worth it!

It serves wood-fired cuisine that uses locally raised meats, house-made pasta, and seasonal vegetables. Currently, during the winter, examples of menu items are small plates (e.g., roasted beet salad and heirloom carrots), mid courses (e.g., linguine and blue-bay mussels), large plates (e.g., sesame soy-glazed eggplant, pork chop, and picanha), desserts (e.g., pistachio cake and Kahlua fudge brownie), and alcoholic beverages (e.g., cocktails, mocktails, wines, and beers). For my husband and me, I made a reservation for dinner through the Resy website. I chose from options of the dining room, a four-season patio with awnings and heaters, and a chef's counter with a view of the kitchen. Please note that although the foods are upscale, the dress code seems to be smart casual. We parked our vehicle in a lot a short walk away. Upon our arrival to the restaurant, a seating hostess promptly greeted and seated us. Our server provided courteous and attentive service, such as taking our order and bringing our foods on time, refilling our waters, and cleaning my crumbs. We started with a Crab Cake with decent amount of crab meat, mushroom duxelles, tasty truffle aioli, and a side of arugula salad. My main course was Branzino with sides of beans-vegetables and parmesan cornbread. My husband's main course was Duck Breast with a blood-orange demi-glace, asparagus, and potatoes. I thought that everything tasted very good. The total price was $96 plus tax, 3% credit-card surcharge, and tip.

We celebrated our 10yr anniversary here for dinner & it was definitely worth it. Unblemished ambiance & service. We were at the restaurant side- very chic & intimate. They have a casual tavern area along the bar on the other side. And an upstairs section. When you look up, there's an entire wall of huge wine selection. For cocktails we had the Cosmopolitan & Strawberry Smash-- both prepared great! Cosmos are usually a hit/miss situation for me; this was really good though- not too tart nor sweet-- very well balanced w/ a mild hint of vodka coming through, which after a few sips hits you in a nice, soft way. Husb said the Strawberry Smash was bangin!!-- the sibona amaro in it stabilized the fruitiness of the drink. For apps, we ordered the Calamari- it was soooo good & crispy/crunchy, I had to prevent myself from stuffing everything in my mouth! I was a bit sad I had to share this w/ my husb lol. It came with a hot & sour sauce w/ lemon which overall made the dish unique. For entree, I had the Scottish Salmon, came w/ scallops & I added crab cake to it. Succulent salmon was seared w/ great flavor, the sweet corn & pepper mixed in a tomato vinaigrette on the side under the scallops was just unbelievable. The crab cake was cut squared, hands down one of the best cakes. The flavor profile for the entire dish together in a bite was incomparable!! Definitely order this. Husb ordered the Gerber Farms Chicken, amish chicken served w/ risotto, greens on top of thyme jus (akin to a thin gravy). The chicken was cooked well-- juicy on the inside & a nice roast on the outside; the risotto wasnt heavy & didn't weigh the meal down, the thyme jus's flavor was subtle & it elevated the entire dish. For dessert, we got the Chocolate Hazelnut tart & Eleven Candy bar. I legit relished & inhaled the tart despite already being so full. Husb loved the Candy bar. A huge slice of brownie/caramel candy bar w/ chocolate mousse phew! The pics explain how mindblowin' everything was! A real one-of-a kind experience. Ron was great in explaining everything too. My experiences have not been high-end, perhaps more "tinfoil" than sapphire, to say the least....see below. That being said, it's proven to be a very middling experience each time, especially from a service standpoint. Each time has had mysterious delayed times to get waited upon, receive food and drinks, and every time has featured a mysterious disappearing item that we had to politely "remind" the server about after receiving the bill. On this occasion, we were offered to still receive a missing drink even though it was incredibly clear that we were ready to leave. One time, sure, but all three visits have had issues. This time, when the final bill was corrected, the math didn't seem to make sense - removing a $14 drink and the total came out $5 less. I'm being candid in saying instead of even dealing with the server once more, their tip corrected the discrepancy - no issues in dealing with the situation in that manner, given the sub-par service. Unacceptable and frustrating to have 3/3 times experiencing significant service issues. Food-wise, it's a solid "4" rating - salads have all been great, the dishes we'd recommend are the black cod and the short ribs. Good selection of semi-local beer and extensive wine list. It was noted that the menu had "changed" with the season, but the overall menu was 80% the same with some very subtle modifications - all over a two-year period. First time we went here, we sat at the tables above the bar area, and unfortunately there was a very bar-like smell that could be experienced throughout the meal (imagine having fine dining at the Rock Room on Polish Hill) - thankfully these other two times have been in the main dining area, on nights that haven't been very busy (adding to the frustration regarding the service notes above). Honestly, this is a legacy restaurant here in Pittsburgh, it's a shame that newer places with great food + service have a hard time launching in this environment.

Truly, every dish was spot on. The atmosphere is beautiful--quiet, warm, and inviting. I honestly don't know how I missed this place for the last seven years, but I'll be frequenting it from now on. The only downside came at the end of the night. Overall, the service had been solid, and the chef even stopped by to explain the egg fermentation process, which was such a thoughtful touch. But after we ordered our last drink--and after we had already tipped--the server began pushing us out. We had just ordered a dessert to go, and what if we had planned to enjoy it there? It felt abrupt and unnecessary, especially after tipping well over 25%. Even with that experience, I will certainly return. The food is exceptional, and the chances of getting the same server again are slim. I just hope the staff learns not to rush customers paying such high prices, because an otherwise wonderful evening was marred by that moment.
