I needed some solitude, peace and quiet. The moment I arrived at the house, my shoulders immediately relaxed and there was an immediate release of tension. Every aspect of the home whispered peace. I don't know how to explain it but it even smelled peaceful. Delana was the most amazing host. She surprised me with snacks and anything j could need for my stay was readily available. She even personalized items for my special needs. She gave me a tour of the property, including the beautiful pregnant cows. She gave me space when I needed it but let me be as involved as I wanted to be. I had the MOST incredible experience with the horses. She guided me through an exercise in which I felt healing in my spirit and connected on an energy level with the horses. It was the most remarkable experience and I took away so much from it that I can apply to my daily life. I could not recommend staying in this space that feels like a world away from the hectors of everyday life but is just a very short drive away! I am already planning my next stay!

The place was clean and just the right size for my wife and I. Being city folks you forget how dark it is out in the country at nights. It was nice. We signed up for these adventures to make the weekend even more fun: 1. Feed baby kangaroo(Bodhi). This was about a 30 minute session where we got to feed him a bottle and kibble. It really was an amazing experience. 2. Bucket of food and self guided feeding of animals. We walked the property and hid to feed so many animals. All of the animals were friendly toward people. They were all very good motivated. We encountered a giraffe, donkeys, zebras, horses, cows, pigs, dwarf steers, camels, emu, deer, buffalo and more. The animals were often trying to bully their way to the front of the line. The cow Oreo who has not skipped a meal was always front of the line. 3. Afternoon safari ride in ATV. This was a fun ride around the property. Did not see any new animals but had a great time. The cows out at pasture were thrilled to be fed. 4. Giraffe encounter and meal. This was a little expensive but I would spend it again. The giraffes were super friendly and personable. We wanted to take them home because they were so much fun. The guide, experience and never felt rushed made this worth it. Our guide was top notch. I think her name was Jackie but could be wrong.

When you rent out Reunion Ranch (the outside grounds..a whole bunch of acres :) you have the entire place to yourself w/ access to over 41 activities..let me repeat that..YES, 41 activities!! There really was something for everyone one to enjoy..from the babies to the grown peeps! And the Reunion Ranch staff are so organized & kept things flowing so smoothly..even with over 400 attendees! I also really liked how the RR staff would announce over the loud speaker what activity was about to start. Activities Reunion Ranch offered: -tug of war mud pit..yes, complete with a real MUD PIT!! -volleyball courts -canoe & paddle boats -man made little sand beach -maze -horse shoes & washers -miniature golf -zip line -wagon rides -pony rides -obstacle course -teen tower -dunking booth ect ect ect And so many more activities but tooooo many to name & I'm not trying to get carpal tunnel ;) Another thing I give kudos to Reunion Ranch is the food serving line..they have about 6 different serving lines w/ RR staff making the plates & even w/ over 400 people in attendance the wait time was super fast. We had all you can eat barbecue plates & all you can eat Bluebell ice cream cups! There also was cotton candy, popcorn, & snow-cones for everyone to enjoy & for us adults..the libations offered were...sangrias, beer, & wine!! I was a regular at the sangria station!! ;) Reunion Ranch really is a cool place to have a team building event, reunion, or a wedding. My horses were still not gaining weight after I was buying bags of senior and mana. I paid for trims with the farrier asked to be put on the list. the farrier never trimmed them so my money was just being stolen . Both horses suffered severe dehydration, qnd impactions , and were hospitalized . One made it the other did not . Staff turnover rate is high every month new " trainer " . Owner does not ask for paperwork for current shots , Coggins etc . There are plenty of public records about the owner .

Other than that, they had bread, some produce, beef jerky, sweet treats, and some other miscellaneous vendors. Oh and Tong's Dumpling Bar is a star attraction. It's in a large strip mall so parking is easy. That mall also features one of my personal favorites -- JuiceLand -- so it's an excuse to grab a smoothie!

There are about 15 vendors selling food, jewelry, soaps and eggs. Unlike the name applies I did not see any fruits and vegetables. It is quite ironic that Austin farmer's markets in general have very few fruits and vegetables, if any. In Washington state farmer's markets had a huge variety of organic fruits and vegetables (miss Washington state.) A standout vendor was one that was selling handmade cutting boards. I may go back to purchase a cutting board. Yesterday, I had only cash and not enough to purchase the cutting board. I did get a cookie that was a cross between a cookie and biscotti. Very different than anything I have eaten... Interesting little diversion for the day. All the folks at the farmer's market were friendly and very open to sharing samples. The farmer's market had few customers. It was almost like walking through a ghost town....quiet environment.
