Unfortunately this is a really cool restaurant (well styled, great location) with crumby food. I loooove interesting and different food, but this place missed the mark. We had the oysters (not good) and rabbit bologna (fair) for starters and then for our main dishes we had the butternut squash carpaccio and the brisket. We were looking for a new restUrNt for breakfast. We always end up at one we go to every time. I googled breakfast and they popped up. They are located right behind the Mercy office on 28th. Left at light. Woman running the counter was so awesome even tho they were so busy. We got our table and ordered. Staff were so busy but handles it wonderfully. Let me re-word my original review. We spent $175. $75 on very expensive very small portions of snacks not at all worth $75. We were still very hungry. Our favorite expensive little snack portion was the octopus. We always tip over 20% because it's never the waitresses fault when the food and drinks aren't worth the cost we paid for them. Perhaps if the octopus was at least double the portion it was, we would say "delicious. Worth the $$$$" but it wasn't. There are better mixed drinks in downtown Bentonville that taste delicious and aren't as pricey ($100). Dare I name the location? It's our favorite downtown Bentonville location where the food is always really good, the portions are perfect and the wait staff is excellent. Our bill would have been 1/2 the price there and we wouldn't have still felt so hungry after leaving, like we felt when we left your restaurant. We went somewhere else to fill up on burgers. You share plates family style, and while the portions are on the smaller side, you get to taste several things (and that's a big plus for a foodie like me). The staff is super knowledgeable and owners are actually there in the kitchen and behind the bar and are super friendly. Gave us tons of recommendations. Mine would be to definitely try their oysters (they have rotating types from east and west coast) and the duck rillette with the quadrello or comte cheese! The asparagas tartare was awesome with the egg yolk on top and the tarte flambé (think fancy thin crust pizza!) was unreal. We finished with their signature dessert chocolate mouse and a nitro cold brew from Onyx which they have in tap! We'll be here many evenings to come. read more

The food tasted good. I never leave a Yelp review. (This is my first time)but for real y'all. Come on. The portions for the price were ridiculously small. I'm still hungry. After an hour and a half we had gotten olives, overpriced cheese and green beans. This is such an exquisite place smack dab in the middle of Bentonville. One might feel as though they were transported to either coast, as the creativity of the offerings at Bar Cleeta is just that grand. Wow! Was visiting Bentonville from Los Angeles, and was not expecting to find a restaurant that rivaled the best in LA. Cleeta was a better culinary experience than I've had in longer than I can remember. The owners are so hands-on, one literally running the kitchen, the other behind the bar, and it shows in every aspect of the restaurant. At every stage, from the plump, perfectly-shucked oysters, to the delectable cheeses, with a perfectly paired wine. And all that is before mentioning the showstopper: the food itself. What the head chef is doing is really exciting. From the summer squash ragut to the decadent bone marrow. House made gnocchi so light and airy they make agnolotti seem heavy. The seasonal tomato dish with homemade sour peanuts might be my favorite thing I've had in a restaurant. I only wish I lived in Bentonville, I'm already ready to go back! read more

Instantly liked the vibe of this place and went in with a very open mind and as a bit of a trial for the future. PROS *Nice balance of modern/clean and warmth *Owner could not be nicer or more engaging - she's a real asset to the concept and the business in general CONS *The food we tried just didn't make sense or land well. Radishes with butter? Both cold? Just didn't understand this at all. It was literally radishes with butter - nothing revelatory or interesting or tasty about it. *Marinated olives were...olives. Again, nothing special - no interesting accompaniments, zests of interesting things... We stopped there, understanding that had we pressed on, perhaps the best was yet to come , but we didn't want to go for three strikes. And yes, the prices helped reinforce that decision. We don't mind paying for fantastic, innovative food but the initial impression didn't validate that possibility. *The wine list is adventurous as pointed out in other reviews but not in a good way at least for us. I totally appreciate having new options but not being limited to them. C'mon, chunk in a fancy chard or blend and charge through the roof for it. I'd bite...I mean, sip. More than anything, we had REALLY hoped to have found the perfect place to do just what we attempted: grab a great glass of wine and some noshies. The food is good but it is nothing to write home about and certainly not worth the money they are charging for it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I have two stars only because the food is unique and I enjoyed it but again, it's about double what they should be charging. I don't like the atmosphere because it's that whole modern cafeteria style that is incredibly loud. Some like that. The evening was only made worse by the sad, by-the-glass red wine options. To top it all off, our 24 year old server argued with us at every step, forgot to put in orders, spoke to us (table of 9 people ranging in age from 35-50) like we were idiots and she knew more than us. She blatantly and aggressively flirted with one guy at our table the whole night. When I say she argued about everything, she did...we asked her to serve the plates to the people that ordered them, she refused. We asked for a wine menu, she refused. We asked to split the bill a certain way, she argued. Went to this restaurant once two years ago and wasn't impressed then, went again last night for a friend's birthday and everyone left saying, "well, we tried it, will never go there again."
