A beautiful church turned into a restaurant. The stained glass windows were stunning and brought natural light into the building which made everything feel happy and airy. Everything I ate was delish! We started off with the goat cheese crostinis, I honestly could've just eaten that and been satisfied. We also got the steak for 2, I about died at how good it was, like butter. We also added a little more carbs on the side and got the roast potatoes - it was like I've never had potatoes before - gone in an instance. Stopped by the preacher's son on a visit to Bentonville. When you arrive there is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. The entrance is a bit hidden, as you'll need to walk up a set of stairs to reach the entrance. When you arrive you'll check in with the host before being seated. While there were a few open tables, we were seated tightly in between two groups despite the restaurant being partially full, which definitely took away from the experience. The environment is one of the restaurant's highlights. It is housed in a beautiful restored church. For drinks I ordered the Blood Orange Buck (bourbon, spiced maple, blood orange cider, mint, citrus) which was a well balanced and a fun take on an old fashioned. To start we shared the Burrata (grilled flatbread, green goddess, roasted garlic). While the flavors were good, the portion was surprisingly small and felt underwhelming for the price. For my entree, I ordered a pasta carbonara dish which had good flavor but again the portion size was small like the appetizer. Overall, the quality of food and presentation were strong, and the setting is worth seeing (would lean more towards drinks). However, between the small portions and the seating arrangement, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. While I'm glad I tried it, I don't see myself returning. read more

Had an amazing date night at Preacher's Son. Service was incredible!! We loved our server (Natalie I think?) and the drinks were strong and delicious. I loved the interior and how it was decorated. The grilled cheese was the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Definitely wouldn't be enough if there were more than 2 people at the table though. Saw the reviews about this restaurant and we had to try it out. Made reservations, which were highly recommended and found ourselves by ourselves at a 5 PM seating, but we are early birds in general. The space filled up within the next hour. Surprised to find a restaurant this caliber without a tasting menu however, the choices were interesting enough that we tried out these strawberry appetizer which combines in season strawberries with a tart cream sauce, and a balsamic vinaigrette, making for a sweet and sour combination The bread, butter combo was very good with the butter being infused with some heat. We went for a pretty standard selection of steak for two which was well prepared and came with a side of mushrooms and potato cakes. Honestly, the winner of the night was the wine. A nice wine list selection that included choices from California, Spain, France. We went with a rioja reserve which was a great pairing. There is no Sommelier or suggested wine pairings on the menu. The service was solid however, once the restaurant filled up, we found ourselves somewhat on our own. The dessert menu had a nice selection, but nothing that jumped out at us. Really wonderful spot! Gorgeous setting in an old church with high ceilings and stained glass. The service was excellent and super attentive. We started with drinks, I got the Spanish gin and tonic which was good (very light) but my husbands drink (the Silk Road) was for sure the best. Then we got the bread, which was perfectly toasted and delicious. Next we had pesto casarecce, which was my favorite of the food we had! Super creamy and delicious. I wish I could give this a higher rating than five. We visited this restaurant on Friday, May 15, 2026. We had reservations at 8:30 PM. The ambience and the visual architecture of this place is stunning. It is such an elevated experience, but still down to earth. The staff was incredible. The food was to die for and the drinks were just the same. It's not very often that I give something a perfect review, but I gotta say this place was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend visiting the bar downstairs and having a drink before dinner. They also have a rooftop bar but we were not able to visit it because it was a rainy night. During our visit to town, a neighbor recommended this place to us. At first, I was hesitant since we had my 90-year-old father with us. However, when I saw that they had swordfish on the menu, I knew we had to go, as it's my father's favorite meal. The standout dish, without a doubt, was the kale salad. I normally wouldn't order it, but it was offered to us on the house. I smiled and thanked them, not expecting to enjoy it. To my surprise, we shared it at the table, and it disappeared quickly! Who would have thought kale salad could be so good? Everything we ordered was excellent. I had the flat iron steak, which I really enjoyed, especially the unique twist on broccoli and cheese. The croquettes were also given to us on the house, and everyone at the table liked them. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. This is an excellent option for a nice sitdown in Downtown Bentonville with a beautiful ambiance (it is a former chapel), artwork, and sublime dishes. The fare offers a wide range of curated options so you will find something for everyone. I would highly recommend the calamari, croquettes, and burrata. The burrata comes with a side of fig jam, which gives the dish a sweet twist that elevates it to a new level. For entrees, definitely get the hangar steak, which is very tender and perfectly coated in bordelaise, all served with a size of fries over creamed cabbage. The duck is also a solid option - the skin isn't crispy as it is sauteed vs roasted but the duck breast itself is juicy and tender. Top off with a swiss roll for dessert! Came here for Valentine's day and I have to say the vibes are perfect for romantic dinner. The interior being a church is so cute and fun! The service was also pretty good and made the night a very good experience. The food itself was good but not everything was impressive. The waldroff salad was okay, didn't have much interesting flavor for the cost. Additionally, the charcuterie that was offered didn't feel like it was super high quality. However, the lamb and beef we got for our mains were the shining lights. I truly think my lamb was cooked to perfection. We made a reservation at 5pm (when they open) so we were seated quickly. The ambiance is quite charming and unique, and I loved the window art and overall vibe. I was a little disappointed that there were only 2 non-alcoholic mocktails offered, one a zero proof margarita and the other something with orange bitters (I chose that one). The appetizer we ordered was AMAZING. We ate every single delicious bite. The entrees were less impressive. We ordered the Monk Fish cioppino and the carbonara. The monk fish cioppino was good, but it came with an almost inedible piece of toast. It was overtoasted and extraordinarily difficult to bite. You had to let it soak in the sauce to soften it enough to take a bite. That said, the dish was tasty. The carbonara was a smaller than expected portion (especially for the price) and while the pasta was cooked well, the dish was a salt bomb. It was delicious, rich, decadent but too salty to finish. Perhaps some acid could have helped, but as is I wouldn't recommend it. My husband over salts every thing in my opinion and even he found it too salty to eat. My husband had two draft IPAs, I had on mocktail, we split an appetizer, and each ordered an entree, and our bill was $135, but we didn't feel it was a $135 experience. So I am conflicted--I am glad we went, we loved the vibe and concept, but we probably won't go back. I travel a lot for work and my favorite thing to do when on business trips is to try out great bars and new drinks (especially when the company is footing the bill). Tonight I went to the Under Croft, the speakeasy type bar below the Preacher's son and man will it be tough to try another new place after this! First off, it is a very chill vibe in the basement, very different from upstairs and what you would expect from a high end speakeasy. They nailed it, I could spend all night down there. I tried two drinks from the menu, both were recommended by the bartender, Caleb, based on my preferences that I told him and his recommendations were spot on, they were so freaking good. After chatting with him a while he made me some custom cocktails based on what I liked and they were dangerously good! I cannot recommend this bar (or more importantly, Caleb)highly enough, one of my favorites of all time! read more

Absolutely a five-star gem in Bentonville. The space itself is stunning. They have repurposed a former church that celebrates its architecture while also creatively adjusting the space for an airy, yet intimate dining experience. I would absolutely encourage you to make reservations (on their website) as this place is certainly popular, for good reason. The service is outstanding from the hostess who greeted me to the waiter who served me and the manager who checked in on me during my visit. I started with a special appetizer, the local peaches. They came with salami and cheddar on a bed of honey mustard. It set the standard for my meal with its fresh flavors and creative combination. I then went for the fettucine, which was fresh and topped with a wild boar ragout, burrata, parmesan and basil. It was a well-sized portion of melt-in-your-mouth bites. I ended the meal with the lemon ice cream, which is topped with a blueberry compote and a thyme shortbread. I also enjoyed a glass of pinot grigio, which was a nice ample pour. The food was flavorful and prepared with care and precision. This place was no different although better than most. I guess that's about the highest compliment I can pay any place around here. Really cool atmosphere, especially the speak easy downstairs. But the food and wine selection was nothing to really write home about, and terribly overpriced for what it was. They seems to throw sauce on everything for added flavor rather than presenting really tasty food. I sampled a couple of red wines and then just passed altogether and stuck with table water. I had the flat iron steak, wife had the pork porterhouse. Preceded by the buratta and casarecce.
