Came in after touring Siesta Key rum distillery at the suggestion of Shane the head distiller and couldn't have enjoyed it more. We walked in to an empty bar (slow offseason around 3pm) to Abby behind the bar. She was PHENOMENAL! I have become a rum snob and she made me 3 delicious daiquiris that all had their own character and really let each rum shine. She was personable, funny and super helpful. Been here many times over the years and this place is awesome. Ambiance, food (from Koyo) and craft drinks are always excellent. Prior to today's visit, I would have given this place 5/5 stars. Today, the music was not only too loud (losing its established sophistication, but also the type of music they were playing is different from the past repertoire of music). Love the Mai tai and the clarified cocktail too. I have a seafood allergy and they had a menu ready with options for me to try. The edamame are delish and the sauce spicy. We had delicious drinks and appetizers for my sister's birthday, and we had such a great time. The cocktails were amazing, and everything we ordered was so good, especially the tuna pizza (incredible), and the yellowtail, which was super fresh. Our bartender, Abby, was the sweetest, so attentive and genuinely friendly. She even brought us a complimentary coconut dessert for my sister's birthday, which was delicious. Chic tiki-themed bar with fun, fruity drinks. Long bar with a few high tops and a few low tops and a big projection screen running a video loop of black and white Hawaiian scenes. Drinks taste like dessert - delish but I didn't really want more than one. I liked my Macaw drink, which the bartender graciously added passionfruit foam to, upon my request (the foam is smooth and creamy like an airy pudding - so good!). Mai tai is unique with 5 spice as one of the ingredients (or I guess technically 5 ingredients). Notes of cinnamon and star anise really came through at the beginning of the drink but subsided while sipping on the second half. They serve Kojo's food at the bar - we didn't try any but the miso soup that passed by us smelled amazing. Bathrooms are gender neutral, huge, and clean. read more

Went to try for happy hour as it is listed in yelps top 10. Drinks were great and not small as described in other reviews. Ordered food from Kojo and it was amazing! We ended up ordering more! Had the shrimp bao buns, chicken bao buns, spicy tuna nori tacos and Asian greens. As far as a good happy hour spot....I think people search happy hour for deals and they really don't have a real happy hour outside of discounts on a couple of wines and the basic slushy drinks. Go here because it's a great place for a drink and really good food but if you're looking for a traditional happy hour spot, it's not the place. read more

The ambiance in this bar is cute with overhanging greenery and gives an in between Tiki and Garden bar ambiance. It is a little dark inside though. We ordered pina colada's that came with toasted coconut. They were a little on the strong side and not bad, but didn't taste like a typical pina colada, but we couldn't quite put our finger on what it was. My sister asked for the cocktail with amaretto added, but they brought her a shot of amaretto that she had to add to the drink herself. I ordered their marguerita that was ok. Overall, not bad, but definable burnout favorite spot for aldrin is in downtown Sarasota and it won't be at the top of my list. But if you wanted a cute and different ambiance for a date it might be worth stopping by. read more

Bartender put up an amazing show. He displayed true craftsmanship and seemed like he enjoyed it very much. We did not try the food but only drinks and dessert. The ambiance was great, shoutout to the dj for playing great bangers and I had seen him before when I was working at The Ritz as a server at Jack Dusty. We really love this spot. Drinks are unique and delicious. I got salt and pepper shrimp which was delicious. Ambiance is 10/10 for decor, lighting, and volume level. A super chill and relaxing vibe. Fries were good. Highly recommend. Our server was very helpful with navigating the menu. The only downfall is not enough options for gluten free folks; we had two in our party and pretty much they can only order a salad which was a little disappointing but on the upside they both ended up loving the salad and thinking it was delicious. read more

Declining experience! Disappointed to say that my experience last night was not great. There is no longer a separate menu. It is strictly the menu from Kojo. The drinks were good, but service was terribly slow. One server and one bartender struggling to run the show. Food runners zipping by from Kojo made this experience impersonal. We would've spent a lot more money here if they were actually able to wait on us. This is now just the hallway between their two restaurants. An afterthought. If they wanted to create a tiki themed waiting room for their Kojo guests, they did it. Bring back the taro nachos, bring back the burger. They were excellent. Hope to see improvements!
