I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. I'm generally not a fan of restaurants at the Ritz Carlton's, they tend to cater to the masses and lack any type of flavor. My friend brought me here for lunch really for the ambience and the view. The restaurant is located right at the beach and you get an unobstructed view of the water and the gorgeous sun. We got a table right at the edge and had a good view. Our waitress was efficient and came and took our orders. Food came out pretty fast, and surprisingly delicious. The tiki bar is open to the public. Ridleys porch that is at the same location is not open to the public. If you're not a guest or resident, you have to park across the street and walk down the side, walk and around to the beach entrance to get to the tiki bar. The menu is basic of a tiki bar on the beach. I opted for the roasted cauliflower naan sandwich. It was actually very good. We were able to see an amazing sunset, too. read more

I was looking forward to going here but was not impressed. They had a limited menu that did not match what was on the website. They asked for my credit card as soon as I ordered and put a $50 preauthorization right away before I even received my order. The nachos were just a bowl of nachos with a small container of bland salsa. There was no cheese or any other toppings. We finished our drinks and boring nachos and left. Drinks were so yummy, the beach is not crowded at all, and there were so many pretty shells! It was a little hard to find, you have to go to the side of The Plaza and follow the signs back. The tiki hut was destroyed in the last hurricane, so they have a pop up one there now, and it was much slower than I expected but overall had a great time. Had lunch yesterday at the Tiki Bar at the Ritz-Carlton, on Lido Key. Serena provided excellent service, the food was good (we had fish tacos and the Angus burger), and the ocean view--along with the breeze and sound of the waves--made for a truly relaxing experience. Although the Ritz-Carlton website still lists the Tiki Bar as closed due to last year's hurricanes, it is very much open for business. If you're in the area or walking the beach, stop by for a bite or a drink--you won't be disappointed. read more

I've been going to the Tiki Bar for the past 24 years and it just gets worse every year. Used to be my favorite place, not so anymore. Drinks are grossly over-priced and the bar is negligently under-staffed. Today it was 20 minutes before we could get someone to take our order (just drinks!), another 20 before the last of the order arrived. i don't fault the staff, they're excellent and really hustle (especially Lauren!) but they can't perform miracles. Management needs to get their stuff together, or the Ritz needs to get new management. read more

I found this place through a friend and I'm glad I did. Really nice tiki bar with great staff and food. They have umbrella if it rains and by the bar area there is seating. It is busy there but umbrella are great. I had their quinoa salad with salmon and it was really delicious, huge portion I would say. I couldn't eat all of it so I ate it later and still tasted as good. Highly recommend and will definitely return here read more

Great spot! We were staying at a nearby hotel so just walked on the beach to get there. This has been here since I lived in Sarasota in the 90's. It's owned by the hotel where it is but, there is an entrance to the public from the road. Parking is easy. Nice bartenders plenty of frozen drinks if that's your thing. read more

Got there about an hour before sunset and was told right away that they would be closing soon, not the best welcome. We ordered 2 mojitos, they came in about a minute, no muddling, just some soda water, splash of rum, throws in some mint leaves, horrible. After time someone came they reminded them they were closing, even though it was a beautiful evening and not yet sunset. Just rude bartenders, horrible drinks, the stars are for the tiki hit itself and location on the beach. Bathroom was nasty as well, not what I expected from the Ritz. Shame! read more

Definitely the worst Mai Tai I've ever had. I've been to the Ritz in many locations and I expected much more. Overly sweet sour mix from a bottle and a tiny little cup for $15. I'm not even sure there was any alcohol in it. The bar is cute but the drinks are not. Maybe stick to wine or beer and you'll have a better time. read more

We didn't eat here, and I didn't even consider ordering food (it's a tiki bar). Our group tried several of the cocktails, and they were all really good. Expensive, but hey, it's the Ritz Carlton, so you're paying for the name. But for convenience at the beach, it's perfect for a drink or two. There's a pretty large bar, plus a handful of wooden picnic tables with benches, each under its own mini-tiki roof. We weren't there at sunset, but if you're thinking you'll sit at the bar and enjoy the sun setting over the Gulf, you're mistaken. Your view is hindered by the hut's location (way back at the edge of the beach by the hotel), plus, the sea of Ritz Carlton beach umbrellas posted between the hotel and the ocean obstructs your water views, not to mention that the sun doesn't set directly across from the bar so you need to be further out on the beach to see it. You're better off getting drinks to go and finding a less crowded area of the beach for ocean sunset views. Or better yet, save yourself $60-$100 and bring your own wine for a beach sunset picnic party. We heard there was a beach bar (more to go-style drinks than tiki hut) further up toward the public beach. A guy told us drinks are a bit cheaper there, but can't vouch for tastiness since we never went. This tiki bar also offers drinks to go in plastic cups, but then it really doesn't make sense to pay Ritz prices just to go back and sit in your beach chairs. Come once, have a drink or two, and then cross it off your bucket list - there are many other places to explore and enjoy in the Sarasota area. read more

The Lido Key tiki bar is a good time bar with tropical drinks galore, and tables right on the sand. If you're looking to feel like you're drinking a pina colada in paradise, this is the spot. There is pretty limited seating due to covid and a limited number of servers, so a lot of people were hanging out drink-less, seat-less & waiting, which is why I've given it a 4 star. The vibes here are great, though, and if you're down on Lido you should definitely stop! We didn't have any food so I can't speak to that, but the daiquiri I had packed a good punch!! read more

We were staying down the beach at sandcastle resort but I had read a review this place was worth the stop. It was a short walk up the beach in front of ritz Carlton. We were unsure if we were in the right place because it literally is a bar under a tiki hut with a few picnic tables under tiki huts all in the beach sand. I approached the bartender to find out if we came to him or him to us. He provided some menus and said he would be out in a few but if he got busy I would need to come to him. We are here in Florida in July so it was crazy hot. They had a cooler with water bottles I'm not sure if it was for us or guests but that helps. They had a kids menu and ours got a burger and one got chicken strips both were pleased and noted the fries were amazing. They appeared to be a seasoned fry. My husband was very impressed they actually cooked his burger medium rare per his request. I just had chips and salsa because I was too hot to eat anything else. The salsa was bland in my opinion but I like it very hot. They gave me mini tobasco to kick it up. Overall impressed and would return for a beach bar. read more
