    Mussle Toast

Bar La Loca is easily the best restaurant in the Tahoe area. We went every day over our last trip -- first for dinner and then to try more of their cocktails for a night cap. Though their menu is small, everything is so delicious and fresh. The pan tomate is surprisingly delicious and the mussel toast has a good spice to it. The steak is cooked to perfection with a great pan sauce. You can't go wrong with anything that on the menu! Their cocktail menu and wine list is extensive. Their staff, especially Easy, are so great and were willing to craft us some amazing off the cuff drink. We will definitely be back anytime we are in the area.

So glad I stopped in here for dinner!! I drove in from Reno to see Lake Tahoe. On my way out, I decided to grab dinner by myself and saw there were a few tapas options. Two were in the same parking lot and I'm so glad I chose bar la Loca. I was the first one in for the evening and immediately was treated like old friends by the staff. I sat at the bar and Easy kept me company the whole night and made sure I was taken care of all night. The mussel toast is a MUST. And the Milanesa was so tender and crispy. Everything had so much flavor. The kitchen also sent out some complementary potatoes. Even thought their menu is small, I ate way too much and would come back in a heartbeat to try more. Definitely stop here if you're in the area!

We're staying the street and looking for a date night vibe and this place delivered. Everything about this place is so good. The vibe and ambiance, the drinks, food and service are so good. If you're in town you have to come here.

A cozy, relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyed the unique, flavorful dishes and yummy cocktails! Excited to come back. Still dreaming about the ribeye, beets, and chocolate cake!

THE BEST FOOD IN INCLINE VILLAGE. I know this is known as a bar, but the food here is a 100% must taste. Each tapa was seasoned to perfection. Anyone who has a passion for food must come here, as the cook really shares a huge abundance of it through the food! Lovely service and sweet people who explained the menu to us. They have a charcoal grill, and who can beat that!!! The unfortunate part is we didn't have big enough stomachs to order everything on the menu. Get the lamb, beets, leeks, blood sausage, chicken cutlet, mussel toast. I can't wait to come back here again. The is a great hangout place for family and friends~ Cozy and the music taste is chef's kiss!

I don't usually write reviews, but i felt compelled as soon as i took my first bite here. At the time of this review, this place had no website and no online presence, I almost wasn't sure if I should try it. But it is easily one of the best restaurants I've visited in awhile (and not just in Tahoe). When you walk in it's like you've been transported into a hip restaurant in Silverlake LA, with cozy lighting and tasteful music. Our pan con tomate came out first, and my god, it may have been the tastiest dish on the menu. Better than the ones I've had in Spain. Endive salad was like a fancy Caesar salad, chicken milanesa was crispy, tender, and perfectly seasoned, and the potatoes had the most unique texture (in a good way - you'll see). Don't skip the cocktails - the bartender Ez is great and will pretty much make whatever you want. These guys truly made our day and it was one of the highlights of our trips. A must visit in Tahoe!

Groovy music , extraordinary ambience, crafty and creative cocktails. This one tops the list for one of a kind type experience . The staff are all so genuine and I hear the best laughs every time I visit. So grateful they are in my town First time I had an fresh Italian salad that instantly makes me salivate just thinking about it. Tonight I'm enjoying Cook's custom Milanesa paired with their new Creamsicle cocktail. Life is good, con La Loca

Stumbled upon this place after doing some thrift shopping in Alpine Village. We were just looking for a place for a quick drink, but after looking at the menu decided to order a few bites. The food, service, and ambiance blew us away. We ordered the Pan Tomate, Jamon, and Charcoal Beets & Goat Cheese. Everything was beyond expectation. Owner Conor hooked us up with the Potatoes, and those are a definite order. Whether you are looking for a full dinner with a great vibe, or some cocktails and bites this place is a hidden gem.

Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and she did a great job walking us through the day's specials as well as some of her favorite picks. I started with the In Crowd cocktail and really enjoyed it. The coconut, basil, and bitters balanced beautifully with the gin, making for a super refreshing drink that felt especially perfect for spring or summer weather. We followed our server's advice and ordered four items, two larger plates and two starters, and everything was delicious. Here's the breakdown: Trout Dip: Fantastic smoky, fishy flavor in all the right ways, served with crostinis. The only small nitpick was that the crostinis were overdone for my taste and shattered loudly when bitten into. Grilled Prawns: Super meaty and seasoned and sauced perfectly, with a bed of slaw that balanced the dish nicely. Scallops: Seared to perfection and in an addicting red Thai curry sauce. I was intrigued by the combo of kimchi, grits, and curry and have to say that it somehow blends amazingly well. Lamb Chops: Cooked to a perfect medium rare, expertly seasoned, with little gaminess and a cooling yogurt sauce that really brought the dish together. All in all, it was a fantastic meal and easy to see why this place is such a favorite among both locals and tourists. The food, the drinks, and the service all come together to make this a great option for any occasion from a casual night out (us) to celebrating something memorable like a graduation (several were happening while we were there).

We were going to make a reservation but a credit card was required - that felt excessive for a reservation on a Wednesday night so we risked it and just showed up. We were early (5:30) so we got seated right away. We got a variety of appetizers after my mocktails (very gingery, yum!). The ribs had a great sauce but were overcooked a bit. The burrata was nice but crostini was so hard I thought it might tear up my mouth. Gnuddi was tasty but very oily. Great ambience and perfect for a wine drinker - extensive list. We would bring family or friends there for a night classy night out, but it wasn't overwhelmingly amazing to us.

For drinks, my friends and I ordered the Perfect snow tini, under pink skies, and piña colada fizz. And for starters we ordered the Crab & artichoke dip, the shawarma spiced chicken meatballs, and grilled octopus. I loved all the music they were playing. It was super chill. And although the drinks took a while, they were worth the wait. All the drinks were so good. I really liked the flavor in the Under Pink Skies and the foam in the Piña Colada fizz. We also ordered the pan seared Corvina, centro karaage chicken, Japanese sweet potato, and roasted beets. Up first was the beets and the Crab & artichoke dip. I loved how everything was tapas sized. The dip was so good, I kept saying, "mhmmm". Though I wish there was a little less slaw and a little bit more dip. I really liked the beets. The plate was so pretty and appealing, I loved the colors. It was also so light and tasty. I loved the purées. And the honey whipped mascarpone was fire. Now let's talk about the Japanese sweet potato, oh my god! It was like dessert. So savory, so rich. By far the best dish you must get it, hands down. The grilled octopus was good although I think i could pass on it next time. I got the vibe that this is one of those restaurants where good things take time, so don't worry about the wait for the food it's well worth it. Next was the shawarma spiced chicken meatballs, they were so good. They really know what they're doing with their sauces. The waiter mentioned they were out of the chicken karaage and recommended the sticky ribs instead so we got that. I also ordered a basil orange creamsicle. It was so good and light. My friends' golden hour drink was my favorite alcoholic drink, it was so light and delicate. I loved the ginger and turmeric touch to it. The sticky wings were so delicious. And I love how they weren't drenching in sauce like some wings are. Our last course was the pan seared corvina. It was good but nothing special. I did like the green curry broth though, it tasted very buttery. Last was the chocolate mousse it was so good especially with the strawberry mezcal sauce. The chef really takes you on a journey with the food. While the dishes didn't come out in the exact order we had ordered them, the way they were paired and paced together was perfect. Each dish felt thoughtfully connected to the next, making the whole meal feel like a truly curated experience. And all the staff was very attentive and laid back and thoughtful, including Miguel. The chef really knows what he's doing here. I feel like everything was prepared and made with love and good intentions. This has become my new favorite place in town to eat. Such a treat. Thank you for such a great night! The food and vibes were absolutely amazing!

The chowder arrived on the cool side, but the staff was very prompt about taking care of it, heating it up, and getting it back to us. I wasn't a fan of the focaccia bread that came with the chowder. It was more like eating a giant crouton. I think oyster crackers or a nice piece of soft, warm bread would have been a much better. The Hula Pie was huge and delicious. Definitely big enough to share! Despite a few misses, we enjoyed our visit. The next time we're biking in the area, we'll probably stop in again.
