Overall decent spot in Tahoe. Service was fine, kind, respectful, quick to check in. Menu is limited but as expected in a ski town. I ordered the night for one special or something similar. Came with crab cake appetizer (1 crab cake) Chilean sea bass ( with quinoa and broccolini) and crème brûlée. The quinoa had no seasoning and was very dry. Had to douse with lemon to make edible. The broccolini was decent again with lemon and the bass was fine.. nothing special. For 60$ I was hoping for more flavor overall. Daughter got the clam chowder. Which was really good. Wife and son got pasta. Wife got the shrimp pasta son got the butter and noodles. We ended up mixing the 2 together and was decent. Our family comes here a couple of times a year. Through COVID, the extended bathroom remodel ("go across the street, down the outdoor hall, past the snow melt"), all of it. Food is nice, cocktails are interesting, and... let's be honest, restaurant choices in Incline Village are limited. The service this evening at the end marred an otherwise nice evening. Our server was fantastic, the food was nice, but the host could use some... self reflection perhaps? After the usual expected pacing of cocktails, appetizers, main course and desert, and the... ahem... waiting on the check, our stay ticked past the two hour mark. "We need you to leave as we have other reservations this evening," was the directive issued by the host right after our bill was settled. Not our server mind you, but some guy we were introduced to for the first time. I get it buddy- got to keep things moving. We were sure to make our reservation to accommodate our party knowing this was a Saturday night during tourist season. But having this order barked at us moments after my credit card was finally run was bush league. Maybe just find a more polite way to remind us you're busy in the immediate minutes past us paying our bill? Really, we weren't intending to just sit in your seats for the next 15 minutes with empty glasses. This sucks to write. We're somewhat regular diners. Just this week I recommended this restaurant to out of town friends. But man, haven't felt this let down supporting a local restaurant in a long time. Will we be back? Our previous time, about a year plus prior had slow service which made us late for an event and was expensive so we had skipped it other times. This time the service was excellent! The place is designed nice with the decor. It's very Tahoe modern and clean. We sat by the window. We couldn't understand why a bowl of clam chowder would be $19. They explained it was full clams but that still didn't make sense. They split it into 2 bowls for us and it was huge! I am definitely coming back for that. We were lucky enough to snag the last seating at the bar otherwise it would have been a 40 minute wait to eat indoors. Hubby thought we were going to a Japanese restaurant because of the name lol I ordered the ultimate benny, hubby got the Monte Christo and our kid got the clam chowder. We were visiting Incline Village for a family trip, and all seven of us (six adults and a six year old) descended on Fumo in search of a place that would have something for everyone (including our one gluten sensitive diner), and Fumo really delivered. Seated in a lovely outdoor space that was cozy without feeling cramped, the views were nice and woodsy feeling, but the service was as good as if we were inside. We quickly settled on shrimp ceviche, beet arugula salad, and sea scallops for table appetizers, and each one was fantastic. Honestly, the salad may have been the best of the bunch; a truly fantastic composition of fresh ingredients, with special care given to all aspects of flavor and texture contrasts. Sea scallops were large, fresh, and perfectly seared, with a tender texture and buttery flavor. For my entree, I asked to combine some elements of the prix fixe menu, and my wish was granted. I ended up with a filet mignon with mushroom risotto and asparagus, netting me a juicy and perfectly medium rare filet with a delightful but unobtrusive cognac sauce. If there was a knock on the dish at all, it was the risotto - it was a tad on the thick side, and could have used a bit more liquid, but it still tasted great. I also must call out the Passione Fumosa cocktail - featuring smoky mezcal, passion fruit, and jalapeno slices, it was a spicy delight with a great mezcal punch, and made for a great opener to our meal. I got it on sourdough but it was gigantically packed and I ended up getting half to go. It was DELICIOUS. It came with chips that were actually very good.. my friend got fries with hers and she couldn't finish her meal either! The burger seemed to be overly greasy, dripping with oil. We were the most shocked by the pesto pasta as it was watery and completely diluted. The lamb was the only dish that actually tasted okay. Overall, it was unbelievably bad and was the saddest three hundred dollar meal we have ever had. The waiter was a nice guy but the service was a bit delayed despite there being open tables; mid-meal we requested a refill of water and it came as we were finishing the food. We are locals but we had never been to Fumo. One of our friends told us they like Fumo's breakfast, so we decided to stop in at the start of our bike ride that morning. Overall, it was pretty good. Here is what we noticed: - It was pretty early on a Sunday holiday weekend, but there were lots of open tables around 9am. By 10am, however, it had gotten pretty busy. We sat outdoors, which was very pleasant. - My wife and I ordered both the DP Ski and the Breakfast Burrito to share. Considering how empty the place was when we ordered, the food took a while to come out. We asked to have the potatoes extra crispy but that didn't really happen (maybe it is the style of potatoes?). Otherwise, both dishes were really good but expensive for what you get (but probably reflective of the prices they can charge in this heavy tourist town). - Service was overall pretty good, however we didn't really like the fact that the server stood over us at the end when processing our credit card making it difficult to tip anything other than one of the pre-set tip choices...which start at 18% and go up from there (which is a pet peeve of mine...they should start at 15%...plus, when I looked later, they calculated tip off the after-tax amount, not the pre-tax cost which is more accurate). Bottom line: We enjoyed our meal at Fumo and will probably go back someday, but it's not something we'll be rushing to do anytime soon. read more

We stopped here after an afternoon of exploring the area. Not sure what to expect we had a very positive experience. They had a prix fix deal that day. It included an appetizer, a salad and main course. The portions were hearty and we were starving since we hadn't eaten since breakfast. Our server was delightful and very helpful with making choices. Everything we had was amazing including the service from Bri! We started with the shrimp ceviche and the spicy garlic edamame, which had great flavors. I had the chefs pre-fixe with mushroom brie, beet salad and filet mignon with cream sauce, mashed potatoes & asparagus. My husband had the ribeye with mash & broccolini. Everything was absolutely delicious!! We eat steak regularly and we're very impressed. We had dinner at Gar Woods the night prior and had very similar meals but sadly disappointed there. Everything here was 100% better, down to the quality of meats and flavors. I can't reiterate how fantastic our service was in addition to all the food. We will absolutely be back! read more
