Bar Louie is a place to have a great time! Brittany and Joey at the bar are always a wonderful time, they're fun to talk to, make some amazing drinks and are very attentive, LOVE them! Mychaelah and Bree are terrific servers, always there for your needs! The drinks are good, the food is delicious and the dance floor on Friday nights is live as anything! the actual reason I'm making this review is because this past weekend Mr. Dayo the server went above and beyond for my friends and myself and left us with such review worthy experience, he made sure we had a fresh drink before our drinks ever ran out, always checked up on us and engaged in good conversation, all while attending several other good sized groups on a busy, crazy Friday night. I appreciate hard working, talented people when I encounter them. I stopped in yesterday around 430 which happened to be during happy hour. It was my first time at this location! I sat at the bar and ordered the Verde Chicken flatbread (sub'd the cilantro for basil) It was so delicious! I also ordered the szechwan boneless wings with a side of Onion Ranch! Another great eat! The food came out within 15 minutes which I think is fantastic with regards to the fact that during happy Hour most places that have great HR specials tend to start to fill up but I still felt that the service was on point. My bartender/server, Ryan was friendly and respectful! No complaints about the food or service! I love the atmosphere of Bar Louie! Open concept, upbeat, good music/not too loud. This is easily my favorite bar in One Loudoun. Every time my wife and I come in, we get to pick whatever seat we want and all the staff remember us and we hardly go out, so thats awesome. We usually sit at the bar, the bartenders are all phenomenal. If they don't have something on the menu I want, they go above and beyond to get me something excellent. When we sit in the restaurant with the family, we usually sit with JJ, he's a rockstar server and the kids love him to death. If we let them, they'd let him be their dad. But all the other staff recognize us and try to say hi if we aren't in their sections. On top of the excellent service, there isn't a bad item on the menu. I adore the spicy Voodoo Pasta, and my wife can't get enough of the Chicken Quesadilla. Also, if you like vodka and cucumbers, the Effen Good is a must try. Thanks Louie! You guys rock! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Bar Louie today. I specifically ordered the advertised Louie's 3-Course Combo for $14.95, which clearly includes a starter, entrée, and dessert. However, instead of honoring the special, they charged me full price for each item separately. For example, I was billed $17.25 for cheeseburger, $9.50 for donut poppers, and $8.75 for small cup of soup - all items that should have been part of the $14.95 combo. My total came to over $90 for what should have cost much less. This feels misleading and dishonest. If a promotion is advertised, customers expect it to be applied correctly - not ignored so they can be charged extra. I left feeling taken advantage of and frustrated. Bar Louie needs to train their staff better on honoring their own specials and making sure guests aren't overcharged. I won't be returning. read more

Keith is the best bartender I have had the fortune to have serve me. His demeanor is exemplary and each experience I have had with him is as pleasant as the next. Further his commitment to his patrons is far beyond that of any other server, bartender or manager I have been acquainted. As wonderful as Keith is, I must say the exact opposite of his manager, David. The disrespect he shows customers and his staff is unacceptable behavior for a man in his position. Serious evaluation of his position in the company and of part of this bar should be undertaken immediately. My recommendation is that Keith be considered for additional compensation for his professionalism and for consideration for a management position. Once again, Keith is the bestest and should be recognized as such. read more

Let me first off say that all the other bar Louie locations are great this one is terrible. First the service was just terrible they totally dropped the ball. So we waited for about an hour on a burger and some tacos which were not that great. But the manager said he would buy one of the Burger for us for our long wait. Nope the said they couldn't take it off at the end. Let's just say I will be writing your corporate offices a letter. I am also telling everyone I know and my family to never go here because the service is terrible and the management is less the sub par. When you promise someone something then you don't follow through that makes you look bad. Bar Louie Ashburn good job at ruining your reputation. Everything was going great until I asked the white male bartender with the wing tattoos on his right arm for a drink and he flipped out yelling that he's not working that side! This guy had a temper tantrum for like 10 seconds just cursing and being really disrespectful. 1 minute later he comes to me and finally asks what I want but because of how disrespectful he was I told him I didn't want his service and I walked to the other end of the bar where another bar tender kindly made me my drink. Bar Louie is the place to be. Great atmosphere, awesome menu and the drink specials can't be beat. However, Bar Louie's biggest asset is the staff and the level of service. The bartenders were very professional, Melanie in particular was very knowledgeable and made phenomenal recommendations on both drinks and food. I am a frequent traveler and cannot stress enough the importance of good service. Melanie has this part down and is killing it. If I am ever back in the area I'll be going right to Bar Louie because of Melanie and the rest of the service team. Keep it up!!! read more

Probably the worst service I've had which is a shame. The place is beautiful and the food isn't terrible. It's just the servers seem to have no idea what they're doing. We ordered beers and it took around 20 minutes for someone to get them out to us. When we got a second round, we were told our server was leaving and he was the new server so he asked us what we had ordered for drinks. We ended up receiving two of each drink and he didn't show up again until we asked for our checks. Perhaps with better management or servers this place could be great read more

Come here if you want to get treated terribly. If waiting an hour for a bud light is your kind of thing, this is the bar for you. If you like drinking next to a bunch of 17-18 year olds this is the bar for you. If Loudoun had any other decent bar this place would go out of business quicker than a fly on crap. One of their bouncers has a lip tattoo on his neck, and he's the only decent guy in that bar. Better off grabbing a 40oz from 7/11 and hanging out under a bridge. read more

Wednesday night my husband and I went here for dinner. We had the best service that we've had in a long time. Our waitress, Adri, was so attentive. She didn't let our drinks get empty before a refill, and was so energetic to be our server. Her knowledge on the menu and the type of alcoholic beverages this bar had was refreshing. Silent Wings is a Coffee Brown Ale from Honor Brewing out of Sterling, Virginia. As a veteran myself, I have a massive amount of respect for this veteran-owned local outfit. The brew is excellent--smooth and flavorful with a distinct coffee profile. While it was delicious in April, the flavor profile strikes me as a perfect fit for a fall or winter evening. I'll definitely be looking to stock up on this again once the weather cools down. I may never make it out to Sterling but will keep an eye out for the brew!

We started with Fried Green Tomatoes and Onion Rings... The FGT were so delicious! It came with Goat Cheese and Green Goddess, the best thing I've ever tasted! I will definitely be a frequent flyer for this reason alone. I had the Scallop Risotto which was amazing!!!!! My son ate his entire meal which is rare. My bf didn't know what to choose and ended up getting 2 meals and finishing both. He had the Lamb Chops... After trying a bite, my life was changed. It was so tender and delicious. Melted in your mouth. Our waiter Kevin was top notch. He was very attentive and even made sure to prepare a birthday treat for my mom. Which was a surprise! I asked to speak to a manager, which I like to do so they know when they are doing good, not just getting the complaints. Usually when I ask for a manager the waiter gets an attitude, but Kevin wasn't concerned in the least. The manager came over and looked nervous. I told him it was the best experience we've had in a while when dining out. My only complaint... The lighting in the bathroom is basically non existent (the manager is aware and he said they are actively working on it). So all in all, you have to visit Founding Farmers in Reston. He takes the time to ask how you're doing, and he'll remember your name after your first visit. The bar has a wonderful selection of drinks, and they're all different and interesting. Most are not just standard classic drinks, but rather ones that feature a spin on such drinks. For example, they don't just serve an old fashioned, because everyone's had one, but they have a coconut old fashioned that is unique and I'd definitely recommend that one. Their food a little pricier than other options around, but it is very good. You can tell the their food is made from scratch, and the quality of ingredients is very apparent, and for that, I do pay their prices. Their coffee and pastries are amazing, sometimes I just go for a little morning coffee and donut break. Try their Jefferson donuts, simply amazing. If you're in the area, this is a great place to stop by, no matter time of day. Grab coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner or happy hour, you won't be disappointed.

Also, this is kind of like the sports bar if you are staying here. Before I get into service let's talk about the space. It is an interestingly set up space that attempts to jam a lot into it. There are obviously tables and a bar. In addition to that, there is a fireplace with seating around it and two areas that can accommodate different things. One having a high top family table, the other having two pool tables. Televisions adorn the walls for the sporting events. Then there is artwork and pieces on the wall. Check out the American flag that is from the War of 1812 era. Now, the service, this will be broken up a bit. We were immediately greeted and seated. Water was served and menus in hand. They were very attentive at the start. They came over and this is where I started to question the service. They went around the table and took the orders without any type of trouble. Their menu isn't large in the least. Few items in each category which makes it easy. Seeing Fish and Chips on the menu, I went with that. I stated this is what I wanted and the server asked me did I want chips or fries. I had to pause there for a minute and just stared at him. I said to him that the "chips" portion of the selection is fries. The server was adamant that "chips" meant potato chips. Again I stared, tried to explain again that chips are fries, it's a British dish. In the end, I just said fries. I couldn't understand how this wasn't something known by the staff. I was still a bit worried about my selection until it showed up at the table. It did come out as fish and chips (fries). I was at ease for a moment or two. However, it didn't hit the mark. The fish was a decent size. But the breading definitely did not stick. When I started to move the fish around on the plate and flipped it over, you could see that the breading was nonexistent. Which meant the fish fillet was directly fried, making it tough. The slaw served with this was lackluster. Mostly it was pretty bland, a big disappointment. The star of the show, toss up between the chips (fries) and tartar sauce. Definitely needed that tartar sauce to mask the missing breading. I'm sure if you come here while it is busy, the kitchen has been well greased, it would be a better experience than what I had.
