We came in for a quick meal and saw some good reviews. The staff was attentive and nice which was a plus. To start we ordered some Steak Tips, typically a safe choice. When they arrived they seemed oddly small for what you would expect, more so trimmings than "Steak Tips." For dinner I was between a couple of items, but I rushed myself to order the Steak and Cheese. When it arrived it appeared that I received the previously mentioned "steak tips" sandwiched between bread, with some condiments and cheese. Maybe I should have read the description a bit more carefully or maybe I expected something more typical of a Steak and Cheese. I did want to order the steak tacos after both, just to see if they were the same. Someone please let me know. As an avid cat (the actual animal) fan who also loves exploring the local beer scene when I travel, this tavern's name alone sold me! Always game for cat-related charm. The tavern is in an open mall type of set up. As far as I could tell. Per usual in these spaces, it took me bit of a wander around to find it. Success! Right when as walked in, we were greeted by the bartender and a few patrons near the entrance. I immediately loved the warm, local, and charming atmosphere of this tavern. Think of a modern neighborhood-friendly bar/tavern with a cat theme to it. Now add some unique drinks and food along with some outdoor seating, an Itunes/play-that-tune-whatever-thing machine, and some friendly bartenders (including the owners) and you get Twisted Cat Tavern. Usually I'll grab a seat at the bar, watch whatever games are on, sip on my drinks, and maybe have some conversations with the bartenders. They do variations of Ol Fashions and Mules to fit peoples taste buds. Personally, I prefer them classic style but the variations use different liquors to suite people's preferences. As for food, the steak and cheese is a big favorite and I love the corn ribs and belly & brussels for appetizers. The corn ribs have a nice sweetness with a white sauce drizzle for texture and the belly & brussels are crispy with that pork belly melt-in-your-mouth taste. The steak and cheese (sorry I couldn't get a picture) has a great cheese pull and uses a savory hoagie roll that holds up well. Noticed a couple eagles fans eating it and giving it it's props; what more evidence you need to back that up right? Bartenders and staff make solid recommendations and know how to interact with guests. They'll chat it up with you or allow you to have your solitary confinement if that's what you're looking for. Sometimes the owners (Peter & Doug) will sling some drinks behind the bar and serve it up. I remember working with them during my Sweetwater days and when they were bartending at O'Faolains back 10-15 years ago. They've now ventured out and chattered their own path by opening up this place, giving Leesburg another gem of a bar to frequent. Congrats guys and thank you. Now pour me another box wine! If you're lucky like we were, Peter, one of of the business partners, will greet you from behind the bar when you walk in. For me, the small things in life make for great things in life. Twisted Cat Tavern is tucked into a developed shopping complex, but it doesn't smack of dime-a-dozen trendy places that try to look good, but lack character. This place is the real deal. Decor and ambiance are spot on...fun decorations, smart lighting, and chill scene set the tone for what's ahead.... Prompt table service by Peter let us discuss beer choices and burger selections. Whimsical burger names are in line with the scene...We aimed for the Mexi-cat and Chonky-cat choices. My concern with everything burgers that try to pile on toppings is that the flavors just get lost...Peter simply said, "I see a lot of clean plates." Game on! Burgers were monster, and much to my surprise, they were both beyond our expectations. My Chonky-cat came with pork belly, Mac n cheese, colossal onion ring, fried egg, and American cheese. The Mexi-cat came with carnitas, guacamole, pico de gallo and fried tortilla strips. We're fans of bringing things home, yet we BOTH cleaned our plates...much to our surprise. The meal was perfect with great service, and prompt attention to our water refills. My Solace hazy IPA was on point, and I wish I had time for another... As we headed out to the cold, a quick chat with Peter to give him props for a great meal and well-run establishment was my social dessert. I would have given them a one star but they at least took our food back and offered us to order something else. This might be the first time I've ever sent food back to the kitchen. Ramen is saltier than ocean water. Party of 7 and two of us ordered ramen and it was salty AF. Pork belly was cooked well though. I asked for a cup of hot water to dilute the ramen and it still was too salty. If you ever want to asSALT someone, order them the ramen. I hear the burgers are good. The spicy Bolognese was reported as not spicy and quite salty towards the end. The wings were reported good. The mushroom and walnut tacos were not good enough to finish. I can't remember the name if it, but I had the smash burger with pork belly, an onion ring, Mac and Cheese and a fried egg. The egg was slightly overcooked, it should have been sunny side up with a runny yoke. It was huge. Overall a pretty tasy burger. The fries were average, nothing special. This tavern was a treat. I came here since they had great yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. I came here around 2pm on a Saturday. They had 1 girl working the bar and a few tables. I didn't get her name but she did a wonderful job managing all parties. The caprese chicken was lovely. Crisp, warm, great texture. I really enjoyed it. I tried to save half of it for later but it was simply too good. The tavern gives off a clean, open, spacious, and well lit place to eat. Came on a Friday evening, and it was really packed and busy. They had several big parties come in and hang out. There are TVs all around so you can watch whatever sports you wanted to watch. They have several tables and chairs, and also a couple booths. They definitely have a really fun vibe with several regulars, it seems. I sat at the bar because it was just me, and I just wanted eat! I was given a menu as soon as I sat down, and my orders taken not too long after. I ordered the colossal onion rings to start off with and the Chonky Cat burger. The onion rings are absolutely colossal (fitting name for sure). The Chonky cat burger is also massive, but it was pretty good. I enjoyed both dishes, but had a lot left over afterwards. This is a 4.5 star review! We have been wanting to try this local bar. This shopping center needs a go-to pub and they delivered. Ambiance- bar seating, a few high tops and a couple booths. Outdoors they have plenty of outdoor seating. Nice to visit on a warm day. Service was spot on! Only thing that was a bummer was that they didn't mention much about happy hour. I asked if they had one and the server who might have been an owner said it just ended at 5:00p but didn't mention the hours or what was included. We will try coming during the earlier hours. Not sure what time it starts but it's sometime before 5:00p otherwise service was great. They checked on us often and food served hot. Cocktails were great. They have a good beer selection and many cocktail options ($12). I had a watermelon cocktail that popped a good punch. They also have a variety of mules and I also had their strawberry mule! My cousin suggested we come here for dinner to try their Nutty Cat burger and I couldn't say no to peanut butter and bacon so we went! Never been to the area but we easily found parking right in front of the place on the street. We got assisted as soon as we walked in despite it being a little busy. We grabbed a few beers and then ordered two Nutty Cats, a Lazy Cat (standard burger), and Lemon Pepper Wings. The food only took a little over 10 minutes to come out. The burgers were really delicious. So much peanut butter (not a bad thing) and great crispy bacon. Also they are all double patties so they are of a good size too. Great crispy fries come with it too. The wings were solid quality wise but not too much lemon pepper flavor. Tasted better when they brought the ranch. If you love a cold beer and a really good burger, definitely grab your next lunch/dinner here. read more

Tator tots, pulled pork, and all the nacho fixins. Very good. I got the Bobb salad which was leafy greens, red onion, eggs, bleu cheese, and fried pork belly with a honey mustard vinaigrette. It was great. The salad was huge, dressed well but wasn't soaked. I would definitely get it again. My husband had the Mac Rib sandwich which was pulled pork, Mac and cheeE, Cole slaw and bbq chips. I tried it and was really good. The tangy Cole slaw broke up the richness of the Mac and cheese. Service was great and so was the food. Staff was attentive. We had just missed happy hour so have no idea what's involved since they don't have table advertisement. Food was good: a twist on various pub dishes. We had tator tots injected with sour cream and topped with nacho fixings. I probably wouldn't get that again. That's just me. There's a full draft and craft list as well as cocktail menu. My Sho-Mi Ramen Noods was unfortunately flavorless. With their menu description, I had expected more flavor from the pork broth, pork belly, and fried egg in this dish. The pork belly was crispy (maybe too crispy...a little burnt), very dry, and flavorless. It didn't taste like the pork belly was marinated or had any spices. The pork broth with the Ramen noodles was like water. I've had true broth in the past that had been cooked all day for the flavor to really infuse. I question how long it was cooked and how much pork meat and pork bones they used to make the broth. For $22 for the Sho-Mi Ramen Noods dish, I would have expected better and it had me saying, "Show me more flavor!" afterwards. The side of tater tots that we had ordered were burnt. It's a small sports bar type of restaurant environment and was very noisy and busy when we went. It was difficult to hold a conversation without yelling, much less communicate our order to our waiter. The service was OK. I would have given this restaurant 2-stars, but decided to rate it 3-stars since the people I was with said that their dishes were pretty good (Open Faced Roast and the Shots of Tequila Pasta) and wait time to get our food was quick. read more

We ordered from here to try something new and got it to go. Their menu seems really fun and unique. We got avocado jalepeno egg rolls as a starter. They were heavy but so delicious, a twist on a jalepeno popper. My husband got a burger and fries and both were good, it seems like this is their go to menu item. I tried the drunken bolognese, an Asian twist on a classic. It is DELICIOUS but keep in mind it is a very spicy slow burn! Can't wait to go back and try more! read more
