Solid neighborhood hang! To call it a bar is somehow selling it short. It has a bar with lots of…read morebeer and liquor. But it also has a robust bourbon menu that is ripe for tasting if you're into that sort of thing. It has what you might call "bar food." And yet, the food is a cut above. Cheeseburger is delicious, patty melt is excellent. French fries so thin and crispy even Ronnie McD is blushing. This most recent trip I dove in and had myself some lemon pepper wings -- excellent. An anomaly. A bar that goes for a rugged rough around the edges look and yet delivers such a wonderful experience. Grab yourself a couple of ponies on a hot day and sit back and smell the bourbon.

Music fairly loud, but not overbearing. I love the general vibe of the place. I saw someone else talking about validation for 2 hours for parking, which is good. You can also find free parking a few blocks away in Germantown. Sat at the bar and the bartenders are very attentive. No issues with the service. I had the chicken sandwich, as it was highly recommended. And this is a huge sandwich for the price. Very succulent bird. Another positive is the fact they have ponies for $2 (at least they were when we went months ago). THey also do a decent espresso martini. I will definitely return at some point.

Geist was amazing!…read more The atmosphere is truly one of the best in the city, especially when they have the place decorated for the holidays. On top of that, our server was hands down the best we've had in a long time. The drink menu was a little limited, but every cocktail we tried tasted really good. We started with the Caesar salad, and honestly that was the one miss of the night. It had a bit of a weird taste to it. Everything after that was fantastic though. I got the lamb chop and my fiancé got the filet, and both were cooked to perfection. For sides, the truffle fries and Brussels sprouts were standouts that I highly recommend. Will definitely be back!

We've had some absolutely amazing food in Nashville thus far, and I really wanted to love Geist…read morebecause the space is absolutely beautiful and definitely gave a great first impression. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and two iced coffees. The coffee was good but the food was, honestly, borderline inedible and not at all what we expected. What was even more disappointing was the response when our server asked how everything was. We were honest and told her we didn't like the food. Her only response was, "Awww," before walking away. There was no offer to make it right, no follow-up, and no manager checked on us. When our table was cleared, our plates were still nearly full. For a bill of around $100 for brunch for two, I expected much better food and customer service. The beautiful setting wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing meal and lack of concern when we shared our experience.

Stumbled in here after dinner to their one year birthday party and it was awesome!…read more Very lively band (The Magi Music) and half off specific menu items. What a great way to check this place out for the first time. Very cool 70s/underground/hipster vibe. So much going on, good for everyone. Dance, drink, have a bite, relax in the conversation pit. It was pretty packed but we managed to have quick service. The happy hour meal deal looks great so we'll be back to try it.

So I normally only review fast food restaurants but I have to do this…read more I'm sorry I really tried to like this bar. The layout and aesthetic is great. It has so much potential to be cool but it just fails to deliver. Me and my girlfriend have been there three times and each time we say to each other "maybe this time it will redeem". Here's a brief rundown. 1. First visit- we came right after they opened and were excited because the location is amazing. We had some drinks and were dancing and were threatened to get kicked out by the bouncer because we "might hurt someone". Mind you, the bar was almost empty since they just opened. 2. We met up with some friends there for a couple drinks. For reference I'm more of a beer drinker and I understand that close company is primarily a cocktail bar. I was mocked by the bar tender for trying to order a beer at a cocktail bar, which I don't take super personally. It's whatever. My girlfriend who is very into cocktails orders a dirty martini, which they pour premade out of a bottle. That's lousy for a cocktail bar. 3. Came back again. Had some pony beers (I know better now) and my girlfriend had a martini which I will say was great and much better. We close out and my tab was 150$. Something's clearly wrong. They had charged multiple shots of tequila and another random drink on my tab which the bartender very kindly removed (thank you who ever are). Short story long, if you want a dark packed bar with poor service and broadway prices... go to Broadway.

We were passing through on our way to Bowling Green & decided to stop by for some dinner. Wait staff is fun, attentive and very helpful. They suggested we try a special margarita flight. Great recommendation and one everyone should try. I wish I could remember the special names but I can't. I do recall one was like a sangria, another pear & another watermelon. Very unusual but oh so good. The drinks were even better since we were able to watch the World Cup game on the large tvs. SCORE!! For our meal we chose to make our own tacos. I loved the pulled pork. Tender, moist & flavorful the way it should be. Parking is limited in this area. I'd suggest an uber or scooter.

When I called ahead to ask if they served brunch, the girl who answered the phone had no idea how to answer the question, so I was relieved when I saw the various brunch menus. Our waitress handled our party well, but service overall was a bit slow. My husband had The Classic, which he enjoyed, but the hashbrowns were a bit overdone. My Breakfast Tacos were good and filling, with the smoked pulled pork adding a rich flavor the eggs. There were others in our group who had the chicken and waffles, and they were a bit disappointed in how overdone their chicken and/or waffles were. Someone commented that the kitchen must not have changed out their oil for our group, because of how crispy and hard some of their food was. The Goat is a large space with both classic and creative options. Good for both small and large groups. And for the record...they do serve brunch.
