This was where we preferred our breakfast cornetti e cappuccini. We tried several of the cornetti, and all were tasty. I especially enjoyed the apricot marmalade and pistachio paste ones. The ambience was welcoming, with seating inside and outside, and a big display of available pastries. The line gets a little long in the 9 o'clock hour, so get there earlier to miss the line and get seating. The cappuccino and cake were perfect. The cake that the bakery is known for is more of a chocolate pie. Honestly that's not the best description of it. The crust is flaky, light and the filling has a great flavor too. It's not too sweet with the subtle blend of light sweetness it is completely luscious. We had heard that this was a great place to visit in Monterosso for the torta monterossina, a chocolate sponge cake, which is a local specialty. Therefore, we made sure to stop by here for some food after completing the Blue trail hike. The bar has plenty of seating inside and outside and the staff were friendly. It was easy to place one order, the cake was delicious! It had a beautiful cross section and each bite was so tasty. After hiking for 2 hours, you can bet that we were hungry, so we easily gobbled up the cake. If you're looking for some food options in Monterosso, I would certainly recommend this shop! read more

Stumbled upon this spot while exploring Monterosso. They were advertising their focacce sandwiches, which was the perfect quick lunch. Ended up getting the focacce sandwich with ham and pesto. Simple, yet satisfactory! Couldn't leave Cinque Terre without trying some of their pesto. The lady behind the counter was very patient and helpful. I saw they had some sort of unique cake called a Monterossina cake displayed in their case. Turns out it was a specialty of this specific bakery! The Monterossina cake is a shortcrust pastry filled with custard, chocolate, and apricot jam. Seemed more akin to a slice of pie than a cake, but either way, it was a sweet treat! Friendly service, variety of focacce sandwiches to choose from, and a dessert specialty...highly recommended when in Monterosso! read more

This is exactly the kind of desert shop you'd want on any vacation! You'll wish you could have them down the road from you at home, too! The best thing on the menu is the Monterossina which is a decadent pie slice with a crisp crust, delicate chocolate accent and cream interior, plus a great aroma. I can't recommend it enough. Covered outdoor seating is available and service is fastest if you go straight to the counter to order. It takes no time at all, plus staff is friendly and speaks English. This place was hidden away in a small little alleyway. The white pizza was thin and perfect to a T. The flavors were just dancing all over my taste buds. When you take that bite of the pizza, the creaminess of the sauce is just amazing. And for the Nutella calzone, well it's Nutella meaning it's the best dessert you will ever try! A must try! We went on a tour for Cinque terre and our tour guide suggested this shop. Unfortunately, this was a bit underwhelming for me. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I don't see myself going out of my way to come back. However, if you are like me and don't like you sweets too sweet this is your place. The sweets are not too sweet and they are good. You should defiantly give it a try if your in there area since they are the best at their chocolate pie and the server are the sweetest. This cafe / coffee shop is the bomb. Only 3.5 stars? I have an Airbnb upstairs and come down for morning pastries right when they finishing baking them across the alley in their kitchen. Everything is amazing. Flaky crust with a light filling without being overly sweet. Truly an excellent family run place. They don't speak other languages well but if you point and ask they will give you recs. Sit outside get some coffee and see what they bring in fresh and ask for those. The pie and the skinny flaky tube with cream inside were excellent. Good mix of locals and tourists. A must try in the morning if your place is in this part of town!! read more
