Husband and I just happened to walk into this place because I saw the signs outside which said that their gelato and such had 30% less sugar than the classic gelatarias. Dark Chocolate Sorbet + Mascarpone with Pine Nuts and Caramel is what we got. Such a wonderful combination. The dark chocolate was actually rich and then the milkiness of Mascarpone flavor was the perfect pair. Mascarpone with Pine Nuts and Caramel on its own was amazing as well. After an amazing first visit, we visited again the next evening. The quality of their gelato is second to none and the place looks really cool, but I had an experience that turned me off to this location permanently. I placed an order and they made it wrong. I was clear in my instructions and everyone confirmed they heard me say it clearly. However, I was told they wouldn't fix the mistake. Seriously - you make the wrong order and you have no remorse or desire to make things right? This place does well and they literally can't spare the re-make of one gelato when I placed three other orders on this evening and four the previous evening - with a non-stop line before and after us? At a minimum, I recommend skipping this location and going to a different location as no place that makes something wrong and refuses to fix it should be patronized by more business. read more

If you see a shop with big mounds of shiny, bright colored gelato, it's mid gelato. You might still enjoy it on a hot day, but it's still mid level. Big mounds, mean the temperature isn't closely regulated. Shiny means there's too much sugar. And the bright colors say it's full of artificial coloring. A lid on the metal container keeps the gelato completely hidden but says a lot. It means that the gelato is being carefully kept at the right temperature. High quality gelato is made with all-natural, seasonal ingredients and little to no artificial coloring. Because of this, the gelato will never be vibrant. It'll be rather dull looking. Pistachio should never be a true green. It'll be brownish. Berry flavors should be deep, muted reds and never bright pinks, and lemon should be white rather than yellow. Rika is all of these things. Covered metal containers, dull colors, and dull (non shiny) looking gelato. It's perfectly sweet, but not overly. And the flavors are intense. It's truly perfect and real artisanal gelato. read more

Raki's came with a very high review, so we knew we had to try it out! It is a small shop on one of the main shopping streets. I got Milk and Cookies and Tiramisu. The gelato was extremely creamy and fresh. It was stored in tins, which they say means it is more quality. I was a bit disappointed with the actual flavors of the gelato. I did not really like the Milk and Cookies. It did not have too much flavor. The tiramisu was better, but still a bit disappointing. The cone was fresh and delicious though! Delizioso! So good, I visited twice in one day! My bf thought I was being a bit excessive. But my rationale was who knows when I'll be back? So ofc I had to try as many flavors as I could. + Ricotta, noci & miele (ricotta, walnuts & honey) + Stracciatella (milky cream with choco chips) + Pineapple & basil + Peach The ricotta, walnuts and honey was probably my favorite (walnuts were from Sorrento), followed by the pineapple and basil. I loved the creamy texture of the gelato, probably because of the higher usage of whole milk. I also think the storage made a difference. It was stored in these sealed metal canisters, rather than displayed in metal bins, such as ones seen at majority of gelato shops. Not sure how that changes texture, but I noticed it first when I had Grom in Florence. At 2.5euros for 2 scoops (cone or cup), it also doesn't break the bank. *Cash only* As for service, people should expect little from European customer service. For one, they don't accept tips so there's no real incentive for them to pull out the red carpet for you. I've come to expect this, so I'm much happier when I just keep my transactions short. I don't speak Italian either, so there's really not much to converse about anyway. Besides, I'm just interested in the quality and taste of the gelato, not so much the service. I will def be back when I revisit this beautiful coastal city. read more
