I am surprised at how high of a rating this store has. The food is subpar at best and you can tell they use some cheaper ingredients. The mac and cheese bites are terrible, they have an odd jalepeno and cheese taste with a fuck ton of salt. Then I had to pick out some sickly looking lettuce from my chicken caeser salad. The chicken tasted like it was from a bag? The way it is sliced and then roasted makes me think it is not fresh chicken but rather frozen. I tried to ask my waiter but he said he had no idea and walked away. Thank fuck I don't live in Iowa and I never have to experience this place again! Blue cheese dressing is good my dad says.

Had an amazing time at Baraboo's tavern. I was stopping in Dubuque for 1 night on a work trip and wanted to get out of my hotel room. I was greeted by Chad who was funny and great to be around. The cheese curds were amazing. I'm not a big fried food eater but was recommended by another customer to try them. They were spot on the raspberry jalapeño was fantastic!! This spot will definitely be on my list when I come back to Dubuque again for work. Thanks Chad!!!

    Small but great restaurant!

Had the goat cheese and bacon burger. OMG. So yummy. I was worried that the meat wasn't going to be up to my standards but it was juicy and delicious. I substituted the fries or chips for the cheese curds and they were also great. Very nice little place. Worth stopping! I read so many good reviews and I'm so glad we came here! I forgot to take a picture of my burger because I inhaled it so quickly! My husband had the steak quesadilla and said the steak was amazing.

While in Galena we popped over to Dubuque to take the kids bowling at Cherry Lanes. We usually just get food from the snack bar there. It was closed so we looked up a few places on Yelp and stopped at Baraboo's. As soon as we walked in the bartender pointed out a table and came right over for drinks. He was helpful and funny and it just created a really nice vibe to start the meal. The kitchen staff was small... I think just two people cooking and bringing out the food. But the service was quick, the food was hot and we were checked on in a way that was attentive but didn't feel rushed. The fried Mac and Cheese bites are the best I've ever had and the raspberries jalapeño jam should be bottled and sold. This is a tiny spot but should definitely get on your radar.

We ate here while we were in the area to visit the Field of Dreams in nearby Dyersville. It was a good choice on our part. We sat at a high top table, but there were plenty of low tops too if you don't like to sit up high. I don't usually sit on barstools because I'm so short (it's sometimes hard to get up on the stool) but there wasn't much choice when we arrived, but it was okay. The place was hopping! I think it must be a local hang out spot. They had some interesting things on the menu, so my husband and I chose two and split them so that we could each try something different. One of the dishes we got was their Door County Dip (must be we were sitting in Door county). It was not your usual French dip. It had provolone cheese on it as well as sauteed mushrooms and onions. It was a bit messy (I ate my share with a knife and fork), but it was good. The other dish we had was their spinach artichoke quesadilla. That was messy too, and it was also good. Both dishes were very plentiful, and the dip came with fries. We had to take our leftovers with us, it was just too much food. Our waiter was very attentive......sadly I can't remember his name........it was something different. He mentioned that he did not ordinarily wait tables as he usually just stayed behind the bar. I liked him and he did a very nice job.

OUTSTANDING!!! Honestly we came here to eat only because we are from BARABOO, WISCONSIN! However, a huge bonus was that this place is AMAZING!!! First, it has a nice vibe- clean, comfy, classy. And my boys tell me it has a hilarious urinal worth a visit. Second, the service was quick and our server very friendly. But, if that isn't enough- THE FOOD!! Wow wow wow!! We shared a burger, steak salad, and INCREDIBLE nachos. Everything was perfect. If we are ever in the area again. We will for sure be back. Wish we had this place in Baraboo! Second location...

The Greek salad was great! My husband's burger was over cooked. Great server, very friendly and we didn't wait long at all.

Rude staff. Terrible service. The bartender and doorman were completely disrespectful. So many better places to go in Dubuque.

This is one of my favorite rock n roll clubs/bars in Iowa! Located right off the Mississippi where…read morethe boats are docked to shore, this is a great place to cast your anchor and hang out for a night and watch some music! When entering the bar you might think you are in a different land, and in a different time! It feels kinda like an Irish pub in a dungeon! But there's a pool table so you know your safe! There are two long bars one on the side room where the music is and one in the main room! I have been here numerous times of the past 10 years and the bar tenders always seem to be the same. And they are great! Prices are great too, you can get your fancy whisky or craft brews, but they also carry cans of PBR, and Old Mil for us on a budget! The music room is great, it has great sound, and Aaron H. who has booked here for years brings in great stuff, a totally curated room of music! The locals just come here cause there is live music and they usually leave satisfied in their choice cause Aaron has great taste! I have been lucky enough to play here a few times and every time I have had a great time! They have a great back patio as well, but like I said they are right off the Mississippi so it might get kinda buggy sometimes! This is a total gem if you find yourself in Dubuque!

We went here on 4th of July weekend after the kids baseball tournament (we are from out of state)…read more Inside is a good size, sports bar-ish vibes. Public parking is close by. It's probably a 15 minute walk from Grand Harbor hotel. We came for the burger variety and milk shakes. Unfortunately they were out of ice cream so not everyone in the party got to enjoy shakes which was disappointing considering that was one of the selling points. Server was very polite as we know it wasn't his fault. Burgers were fantastic. Breaded Fries had great potential but a bit greasy for me. My son ordered a plain burger but was served a fully loaded. When the kitchen server came out and asked whose burger it was, we said it wasn't ours because he ordered a plain burger. She stated that it must be this one and handed to him. No harm done as he's not allergic to lettuce, tomato or pickles (kind of...he's a kid!) but just a miss there considering it wasn't the least bit busy. While I appreciate the casual atmosphere and table graffiti, they were rather sticky. There was a film on them so thick you could scratch with your nail. When your arms stick to the table it's a little annoying but it was upper 80's and humid. If I was local I'd give it another go. If you're visiting and love burgers, try it out as maybe we just had bad luck on a holiday weekend. Burgers were A+, just minor misses but nothing deal breaking unless it's a common occurrence.

The order was wrong. The chips in the chips and queso were stale. The chicken and avocado sandwich without the avocado (since they were out) was grilled so that some pieces were too hard to eat. The southwest salad had lettuce stumps. They did have good TVs so I give them points for that.
