This is one of my favorite rock n roll clubs/bars in Iowa! Located right off the Mississippi where…read morethe boats are docked to shore, this is a great place to cast your anchor and hang out for a night and watch some music! When entering the bar you might think you are in a different land, and in a different time! It feels kinda like an Irish pub in a dungeon! But there's a pool table so you know your safe! There are two long bars one on the side room where the music is and one in the main room! I have been here numerous times of the past 10 years and the bar tenders always seem to be the same. And they are great! Prices are great too, you can get your fancy whisky or craft brews, but they also carry cans of PBR, and Old Mil for us on a budget! The music room is great, it has great sound, and Aaron H. who has booked here for years brings in great stuff, a totally curated room of music! The locals just come here cause there is live music and they usually leave satisfied in their choice cause Aaron has great taste! I have been lucky enough to play here a few times and every time I have had a great time! They have a great back patio as well, but like I said they are right off the Mississippi so it might get kinda buggy sometimes! This is a total gem if you find yourself in Dubuque!

From the moment I approached this place, I knew I had to try it. I was excited to see what they had…read morein store. I came here with my significant other. We were able to choose our table, so that was cool. The atmosphere was quiet and gentle. The Food & Drink Menu was at the table. It stated to Please Make Your Choice And Order At The Bar. We walked to the bar. I started off with the Jubeck Blonde. It was a Crisp, medium-bodied, golden, mild, easy-drinking American cream ale. It was $6. From the Classic Pizzas section, we ordered a Small 9" * $10 Pepperoni. It had tomato sauce, mozzarella & parmesan. From the Specialty Pizzas section, we ordered a Small 9" Carbonara. It had Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, grilled chicken, bacon, roasted mushrooms. It was S-$15. We gave a card to open a tab. I took the Jubeck Blonde back to our table and gave it a try. It sure was crispy and a good drink to steadily sip. Speaking of crispy, the pizzas came out fast. I started with the Pepperoni. It was so good I could hardly stop. The amount of meat on the pizza sure was generous. Well, that one was going to be hard to beat, or so I thought. The Carbonara had such a precise flavor from the ingredients all masterfully blending together. I knocked out most of that pizza. Well, I got thirsty, so I went up to order the Mango Sour Guava. It was a Sour ale brewed w/ mango & guava. Fruity w/ tart & crisp finish. It was $6. I enjoyed it highly and it paired nicely with the pizzas. I went back up to order the Barnstormin' Ale. It was a Hazy American pale ale w/ citra hops. It was $6. I thought it was smooth, especially with the citra hops flavor. The drink disappeared pretty fast. The last one I went up to order was the Lavender Honey Wheat. It was an Herbal, medium-bodied, sweet, easy drinking, aroma rich. It was $6. This one definitely had a different taste than the others. I liked it in a quirky way and it was the best one to finish off my session. The service was prompt and friendly. We were shown around in the back to see how things were done and where the front used to be. That was a cool bonus! I didn't have any service issues. Overall, I had a great experience here. It's a bummer this place was in Iowa, because I would probably go often. Date of visit: 08/23/2024

We went here on 4th of July weekend after the kids baseball tournament (we are from out of state)…read more Inside is a good size, sports bar-ish vibes. Public parking is close by. It's probably a 15 minute walk from Grand Harbor hotel. We came for the burger variety and milk shakes. Unfortunately they were out of ice cream so not everyone in the party got to enjoy shakes which was disappointing considering that was one of the selling points. Server was very polite as we know it wasn't his fault. Burgers were fantastic. Breaded Fries had great potential but a bit greasy for me. My son ordered a plain burger but was served a fully loaded. When the kitchen server came out and asked whose burger it was, we said it wasn't ours because he ordered a plain burger. She stated that it must be this one and handed to him. No harm done as he's not allergic to lettuce, tomato or pickles (kind of...he's a kid!) but just a miss there considering it wasn't the least bit busy. While I appreciate the casual atmosphere and table graffiti, they were rather sticky. There was a film on them so thick you could scratch with your nail. When your arms stick to the table it's a little annoying but it was upper 80's and humid. If I was local I'd give it another go. If you're visiting and love burgers, try it out as maybe we just had bad luck on a holiday weekend. Burgers were A+, just minor misses but nothing deal breaking unless it's a common occurrence.

The order was wrong. The chips in the chips and queso were stale. The chicken and avocado sandwich without the avocado (since they were out) was grilled so that some pieces were too hard to eat. The southwest salad had lettuce stumps. They did have good TVs so I give them points for that.

But the interior was very cool and the area was very pretty. They have a nice outdoor patio, inside bar and table seating. Plus they have several arcade games and sweet merchandise. Service was friendly and everything was clean. They had quite a few beers on tap so I opted for a flight. I sampled the cramden bike-fruited sour, Punchy the clown-sour, Bangers-Strawberry Rhubarb Piehole-gluten free sour, and I Gotta Have My Hops-imperial ipa. They were all really good but my favorite was the strawberry rhubarb. It wasn't overly sour but was more sweet and was just a nice, light, summery drink. For dinner I had the Cuban B-smoked pulled pork, ham, pickle chips, honey mustard, and Swiss cheese on a hoagie roll. It came with a side of fries. The Cuban was delicious. The flavor was Smokey and sweet with a little acidity. It was really well balanced and was very tasty. Highly recommend. The fries were crispy and crunchy and not overly salted. I'd definitely order them again. Highly recommend that you stop in if you're in the area. If we end up around here again, we'll definitely stop in again.
