My Sadies favorite park. I visit this park to make my 12 year old Sadie's life complete. I call…read moreit Lizard park during the summer and spring as you can find many running around in the nice hot sunny days . This beautiful park has it all - beautiful grass , wonderful play ground area for both smaller and bigger children as well as shaded areas , a covered large patio area that you can reserve for parties when we are not in Covid . The patio offers seating for large parties and BBQs and nice clean bathrooms just steps away from the play area and covered Eatting area . This great park offers base ball area and basketball courts . It has mature trees where you can find many just sitting in a nice chair or chairs sitting 6 feet apart doing bible study or having a nice bite to eat with 2-3 family or friends . Sadie and I enjoy stopping by so we can walk or she can sniff for lizards in her 10 Mins then head home , this is her happy place to visit as she feels most comfortable here. Thank you MV for keeping this park so beautiful as I have made so many beautiful memories here !!

Yet another beautiful , clean, well kept and manicured park located in Southern Orange County is…read morethe Melinda Park located at the corner of Santa Margarita Parkway and Melinda Road. This large approximately 8 acre park within the Mission Viejo community offers a large picnic gazebo structure with multiple large picnic tables and a barbecue, which are available for rental for parties along with multiple play structures for young children as well as a softball field, football field and basketball court. There are steel mesh benches scattered throughout the park, which provide a great view of the kids from all angles. The playground is located on sand with recycled rubber under all of the equipment, so don't forget to pack some sand toys for your little ones. It is a little noisier compared to other parks in our own neighborhood because of it's location between two busy streets, but still a nice option if you're in the area.

The staff is especially courteous and does a pristine job keeping the facilities clean and in order. My experience at Montanoso was different than at other gyms because the other members were all so friendly. I personally needed to practice at a gym with a pool and enjoyed doing it at Montanoso Recreation Center.

As a trainer and coach (not employed here, for clarity) I've spent a lot of my life in gyms. From…read morebig box chain setups to boutique nooks, they all have their good and bad bits and their place in the picture. Montanoso Rec somehow takes 90% of the best bits and puts them all in one spot. The variety of equipment available is huge. I spend a lot of time in the stretching and movement quality room, which even has a massage table. Their weight and cardio room is stacked with great equipment, including two barbell bench setups and a Smith machine, and they have a separate lifting zone too with an Olympic platform and two squat racks. Outside there are battle ropes and a TRX area, and there's a full group fitness studio to boot. I've seen the negative reviews about the staff, and they couldn't be further from my experience. Everyone has been welcoming and friendly from day one, so if there were any issues then they've been resolved. Similarly the pool, which was completely refurbished a few years ago and is in beautiful shape. Swimming in the late afternoons is my favorite time, as it isn't usually crowded and that's when the sunlight breaks through the trees into the water and everything sparkles. The pool deck is really nice too. The crowd who train here are a good mix of local high school athletes, older folk still putting in work, and a few diehard Ironman competitors. The local fire department drop by to work out sometimes too. It's low on posers, I've never seen anyone videoing themselves or dropping weights. Most people keep themselves to themselves and get their training done. I've heard (not witnessed) a few stories about people being a bit territorial in yoga classes, and occasionally the barbells can get a bit grimy and need a pre-use clean, but I'm nitpicking to find anything bad to say at all. If you want to train properly in MV, this is your spot.
