Well today I brought my new pup Kobie-Star that is 1year old . It was Kobie -Stars first time here, sadly my beautiful Sadie has gone to heaven at 15 1/2 last Feb 28th but I have all the beautiful memories of her here and every where I go. Kobie and I walked the park this morning even though it was completely packed with littles here to play sports and there was a couple of birthday parties about to start . Kobie- Star and I enjoyed the Rose Garden walk it's my favorite area to walk as it was with Sadie , so many smells for the pups to sniff and pics moments . Kobie- Star had to check everything out and she got a few ( how cute you can tell she is a pup exploring everything ) !! Kobie-Star had to check out every path and every wall. We then walked the park and by then she was tired . This park has everything, paths , roses , shade trees everywhere, bathrooms , party areas , great adventure areas for kids to play on , great sport fields . Parking is plentiful but in a day like today parking was crazy , in fact a lady was so inpatient she couldn't wait for me to completely park my car before she started backing in to the spot behind me , I had to honk my horn a few times as I almost hit her and did she care or say I'm Sorry , NOPE !! The people in the car next to me said , that was a close one - I said I know thank goodness I am a defensive driver ugh ! That spot was not going any where lady Patience is a virtue . Sad she had 5 little girls in her car they were there for sports ( next time take an extra 1 min ) plus $$$$ it could have cost her an hour or more had she hit me !! Just saying - it's a beautiful day let's all enjoy it together! read more

Really nice park in Mission Viejo. There are 3 nice sized areas with soft cushion flooring and some sand for kids to run, climb, jump, swing, slide and just plain be a kid. Lots of shade trees and areas for sitting. They even have large sized musical instruments to make music on. read more

Lots of fun play things for the kids on soft turf. Covered picnic areas with plenty of tables so you can hold parties that you can reserve. Huge area for playing soccer, running or walking your dog on a leash around the track. The best park for kids of all ages in Mission Viejo. There is a section for kids up to 4-5 yra old and another for older kids and bigger slides and activities as well as a picnic area and covered tables perfect for birthday parties and adjacent to a large soccer field. They also have sensory stations as well.. Highly recommended especially since the trees block out some but not all of the sun. read more

One of the nicer and cleaner public parks I have been to. Great for parties and events. The large shelter was perfect for a birthday party. They allow taco man and other vendors. Play area was large and clean. The sand was my only negative. Parking lot was large and long. You might end up parking further then you intend to on a busy day. read more

My main concern is security, I do believe that the Mission Viejo City can afford to put up security cameras in this Beautiful park, somebody was trying to break in to my car and broked the door lock, it caused me trouble and unnecessary expense. I also have a friend as well that her wallet was stolen from her car, took her drivers license, cash and credit cards where being used in deferent places. Imagine if this happens to you, it's such a troublesome. My point here is that there is bad things going on at this place that needs to be address for the Community and Children's safety. read more

Florence Joyner Olympiad Park, lovingly called Flo-Jo Park by residents in Mission Viejo, is located off of Olympiad and Marguerite adjacent to Mission Viejo Lake. This isn't your run of the mill ordinary park. It was created in honor of Olympic athletes and to commemorate the 1984 Olympic games when they came to LA. The start/finish lines and grandstands were on Olympiad Road which was formerly named O'Neill Road however later renamed Olympiad in reverence of the Olympic games. Florence Joyner was chosen as the namesake of this park because she became the first American woman to win 4 medals in an Olympics game at the 1988 games in Seoul, Korea. She was also a Mission Viejo resident until her death in 1998. In 2004, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the 1984 Olympic Cycling Road Race, Mission Viejo dedicated a permanent start/finish line and historic markers which were installed on Olympiad Road near the entrance to Mission Viejo Lake. And last Sunday, we found ourselves wandering around here without a clue that such rich history lived in our backyard. This park isn't as big as other parks but it's perfect to walk around, play a few games of softball or football in their wide field area, take your kids out on their recreation area, have a BBQ, and walk around in the garden area near the back. You can accomplish just about everything and view the many profiles of past Olympic athletes. Once you're done with the park, you can walk across the street and view the lake. It really is the perfect spot to picnic or hold a small party. Also great for kids and recreation activities. read more

Definitely a great place to go for a walk and the surrounding area is beautiful. You have the hills in one view and the lush green and homes in the other. From the corner of Olympiad and Alicia Pkwy you can go up the stairs and a lovely garden area and mini-fountain await you. You can also read a bit of the history of the park and the olympiad's the park was named after and dedicated for. There is so much space to have a nice picnic and a large playground area for the kids. Parking is pretty ample but I assume it can get crowded on a busy day. I was there Sunday before sunset. The best part of the park is that just across the street is lovely Mission Viejo lake. A must go if you just want a nice relaxing stroll on a nice summer evening. read more

This is a nice, quiet park in a beautiful neighborhood deep in Mission Viejo. Both the location and the facilities are safe for smaller children. It has a sandbox. There is a soccer field/grassy area as well. Parking is ample. read more

Visited the tot playground with my toddler grandchild. The park was clean. There was sufficient parking at 9 am on a Sunday. Play equipment was in good shape and my little guy had a lof of fun. Many other nice families there to play as well but had plenty of area to do so. Also enjoyed the walk along path heading towards Alicia, thru the gardens up to thr rock waterfall. Beautiful, well-maintained park, really nice walking/running path with great landscaping and nice flowers. The path isn't very long, maybe 1 mile, but there are lots of shady benches along the way. I was visiting from out of town and came to this park to do some yoga, it was perfect. read more

My wife and I were in the area and decided to stop here for a quick walk. Flo-Jo Park is a large and clean space, with lots of room for you, your kids, friends, family, and dogs. We walked up the dirt trail above the park for a birds-eye view of the area. It's not too long of a walk around the park (about 10 minutes), but it was nice to be outdoors after being cooped up in the car on a Sunday drive. I was surprised there weren't more people out: I assumed they were planted in front of their couches for the Sunday morning NFL games. read more

As others have said, it's a park that needs updating. The paths are kind of cool as there are several options to choose from. I liked the Wall of Fame highlighting local Olympian contenders/winners. Nice parking lot too. I wish there was some access to the lake though, to continue the walk. read more

This is a really nice and clean park that is great for get-togethers, walks, or just relaxing. There is a cool sculpture of Florence Joyner as well as picnic tables, restrooms, grills, etc. There is also a lot of parking available on most days. I enjoyed my visit here and would return. read more

I have lived in the Mission Viejo/RSM area for years so I have been driving by this park forever on the corner of Alicia parkway and Olympiad. I didn't realize what a gem it is until I started park hopping with my 2 year old on a mission to find the best parks in the area. This park has everything you need for a fun play day. They have a few different play structures, a swing set, a large grass area, and an area for younger kids with a playhouse, play musical instruments, and other things for little people to play on. There are plenty of places for parents to sit, and ample shade. As a parent, shade is a must while at the park and this one has plenty of it. They also have a nice sized gazebo/covered area with picnic tables where people can have birthday parties. The restroom was clean (as clean as a public restroom can be!) and overall I was impressed with how clean the park was. We stayed for almost 2.5 hours, there were so many things to do here and my daughter enjoyed herself and stayed busy. read more

Its not too crowded whenever I go and right now during the summer heat...its nice to go around 5pm....theres shade in the playground area so the kids are not getting burned from the sun/heat. Well theres sun in the toddler area....but there is plenty of other areas to play in. Also, you can rent the picnic area for $25 for 4 hours...and you get the whole picnic shelter, you wont be sharing with others, which is really nice when you want your party to be a little more private read more

It's a great park, but it could use some updating. There are still structures here from the 90's so some of the playground is sun bleached and the paint is pealing. Kids don't mind those little details though and my toddlers love this park. Lots of sand, slides, swings. Things to climb on, grass to run in. Bring a kite on a windy day, pack a picnic, host a birthday party, schedule a play date. You're kids will have a blast. read more

It's a very uneven field for soccer, but the grass is short and fast. The only thing I don't like is the storm drain right by the sideline. Could be a nasty injury if play goes beyond the sideline. Still a very nice experience. read more

I would give 5 stars however I wish they made some shade like at Mt.View Park in Lake Forest... Other than that it's fun for kids of all ages, a little dangerous if you have a little one... Oh and if your kid is under 6 and clumsy it's a little scary at the top with this medal up and down ladder thing that connects two play slides... My son is 2 and thinks he can do this thing EVERY time.. He's WAY too small and I've seen 4/5 yr old kids eat sand on this thing and bing, bing, bing all the way down... Bloody nose and forehead... Now yes, moms and dads should pay close attention, but at a certain age you don't want to be a hover mother anymore and let them go... Other than that it's a fun park and good size... If you have a little one, just try to keep them in the little one area... Once they find the big kid stuff it's over! LOL read more

The park and playground themselves are awesome, but the kids here are out of control. Every time we have come to this park (4-5x in the last 18 months) some kid has shoved or thrown sand in my toddler's face. Over the weekend we were there and every slide my kid tried to use had another kid camped out at the bottom or climbing up the wrong way. We go to parks at least 5x a week and every time we try Flo-Jo park I swear it's the last; I don't know what it is about this place that makes kids go nuts and parents go missing. If you attempt a visit here, please just keep an eye on your child so everyone can enjoy the playground. read more
