We looked at every candy shop in Stillwater and ended up coming back to Barbara Ann's because it looked the most delicious. My sis bought a 12 pack sampler of truffles and a piece of chocolate for the road. I bought a 24 piece sampler box and a truffle for the road. The 24 piece box was quickly devoured over Mother' Day weekend. The service was adequate, yet a bit indifferent. That didn't keep of from following our chocolate cravings. This is the best chocolate shop in town. Its chocolates are higher quality. This is a good choice if you don't eat a ton of sugar, but when want something sweet, you want better than the usual cheep stuff made with wax and excess sugar. They have a nice selection of dark chocolate. Given the unusually high quality of ingredients they use, the prices are very reasonable. A lot of what they sell they make right in the store. One would think that a fudge shop would actually have more than 2 types of fudge. Choices were chocolate and chocolate with walnuts. Of those, there were 2 wrapped blocks of each, and no telling how old they were. The rest of the store was overpriced gimmick candy. They did have some nostalgia items, but again way overpriced. If you have a sweet tooth and if you're on Main Street in Stillwater, you simply MUST stop in and buy something at Barbara Ann's Fudge Shoppe! The name says "Fudge Shoppe". But in reality, fudge is no longer the primary focus. I only found 2 kinds of fudge - with walnuts and without walnuts. They sell it by weight. It was great. I bought some. The main focus is a giant variety of chocolates and a ridiculously huge variety of candies, bulk and novelty. When you look at the chocolates, everything is color coded. If it has a label with a red border, it's something they make on-site. They make a TON of delicious and delectable turtles! Check out my photos - it's astounding. They also have a giant display packed with truffles. A 3rd display has all manner of "other" styles of chocolate. They have giant chocolate dipped fresh strawberries too. Yum! The rest of the store is mostly candy. The back wall is practically covered in wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling bulk candy containers. The center of the store has all manner of weird specialty candies including wax lips, gummy candy pizza, flavored crickets (yes, the real thing), and suckers with a real scorpion in the center. My favorite candy shoppe in Stillwater! Barbara Ann's has a huge selection of GF chocolate truffles made at a dedicated facility. There is an entire case of GF truffles, not contaminated by gluten! Yes she has another case with both gluten and GF truffles, so if you have celiac disease like me, you'll want to avoid those; however, you will still have many yummy treats to pick from! read more

Cool quaint spot ...you actually might miss it. It is in a small inside mall next too a pasta spot. Again small, candy, fudge but there's ice cream folks it is a bit pricey but hey your in it for the experience. I had to get some Taffy sold by the pound...good assortment and at s good price $. We visited to buy fudge. Not much to choose from. We decided on ice cream. I wanted a small portion, but you could not get a dish in the small size - $2.99. So I ordered the cone. Got 2 scoops which was more than I wanted/ needed but my friend said she would take one of them. It is hard to share a cone with another person so I asked if I could have a small bowl. I should have known when she would not give me one originally what the answer would be. The server said yes, for another $.50. I was considering that when my friend said that she assumed that came with a spoon. No. Another $.50 for a spoon. We are talking about an extra dollar for a little styrofoam bowl and a plastic spoon. We didn't do it. The ice cream was average. Would never go back! read more

I have to get a turtle anytime I'm in Stillwater. Barbara Ann's has the best in the area. They are huge, so I don't have to eat it all at one time. I'm not one to really give candy as a gift, but these turtles would definately make a chocolate lover smile! read more

So delicious! The turtles are HUGE and amazing. Love the variety of turtles and truffles. My fave turtle is the Tornado, with pecans, almonds, cashews and peanuts AND salted caramel!!!! Fudge is also made there, in small batches, so it's super fresh. Love this little gem!! read more

Big LET DOWN! - What happened? Barbara Ann's giant turtles used to be jam packed with tons of nuts covered in the best chocolate!!! They were worth the 30 minute drive! NEVER GOING BACK....we purchased 5 turtles (our usual) last night to the tune of $20.00 - the almond turtle had 8 almonds at the most, the chocolate is NOT the same...very soft and the whole turtle was a big mass of soft caramel, which in itself is nothing to rave about, Big Let Down....sorry Barbara, but your short cuts are going to hurt your business. read more

Favorite place to buy chocolate. You MUST try a salted carmello bar. Marshmallows covered in caramel and chocolate with sea salt.
