One of the reasons I love this shop is that not only do they have fancy flavors but they have the good ol' standards too. My kid is just one of those that wants plain old chocolate...sometimes this is hard to find in an ice cream shop. I had wolf tracks and hubby had turtle. Absolutely love it here! When you walk in, it smells sweet and looks so bright and clean! We came here early on a Sunday and had the place to ourselves. I imagine it would get pretty busy in the evening though. We got some simple scoops of ice cream, I got s'mores and my husband got the wolf tracks which is just chocolate and peanut butter. Walking In it smelled very tasty and it's bright and looks very clean. I walked in with my 3 gkids who were very excited to get ice cream of course! The girl at the cashier never once cracked a smile nor greeted us. Then I had the kids look and see what kind of ice cream they wanted. This is not the best and not the worst ice cream I've had. Recently moved to the area and my mom and bf tried here when we were moving and said it was good. I had a different opinion when I went. The staff were some of the least friendly people ever. They were so into their little personal side conversations. We were not even greeted when we walked in. I ended up ordering a single scoop of cookies & cream in a chocolate dipped waffle bowl. My mom did a flight with peach, coconut, and the raspberry chip. The peach lacks a lot of flavor compared to another shop whose peach ice cream I love. The raspberry chocolate chip also had a more artificial taste. The coconut ice cream was good but so rich that I wouldn't be able to finish the single scoop. I didn't care too much for my cookies & cream scoop either. It again lacked flavor and cookie pieces. The chocolate covered waffle bowl had a stale taste to it as well. Just all around was a rather horrible experience and I definitely would have rather gone to Culver's and actually enjoyed some frozen custard that tastes good or cold stone. Or just gone to the grocery store and picked up a pint. I don't think I will try again and I definitely will not recommend if asked about ice cream in the area. We came here to celebrate a big occasion - so naturally we got the Lalapaloosa. The Lalapaloosa, if you are unfamiliar, has 8 scoops of ice cream, 3 sauces, some fruit, and some nuts, plus whip and a cherry. We brought 4 adults and 3 children. Our numbers were the perfect amount for that amount of ice cream. It was good! It was a Saturday afternoon, the place had minimal amounts of people inside. The service we received was really good, and the servers were very polite and helpful. I might become a regular here if it were more in my stomping ground, as there are a number of items on their menu that I'd love to try. But every once in a while, I'm sure we'll be making a trip. Disappointed in the lack of consistency here. First off I know this place has a high turnover and is mainly ran by teenagers. I gave the consideration and kept coming back but tonight was a final straw for me. I usually get a turtle sundae. Tonight I ordered one I came in at 7pm and there was a large party seated with their ice cream already and no one else. So they weren't busy. First of all no greeting whatsoever by the so called supervisor but again a child so I gave a pass. I ordered my sundae with no cherry. Got my order with a bright cherry on top. I didn't say anything because it seemed petty but again it was irritating because the person couldn't follow a simple instruction. I get home and eat my sundae only to find out it doesn't have any pecans on it. So not only does it have a cherry but missing a MAIN ingredient. The reason I'm so bent today is because it happens too often. Too many mistakes and negligence. That's why I refuse to tip. They don't deserve it. I understand it's young adults but at what point at yall going to try a bit harder. The sundae is almost 8$. I call them to speak to the manager this time and of course there was none on duty. The supervisor was there and he took my complaint. He did say he was sorry but honestly, I was really irritated. The inside is very spacious with lots of seating available. All the flavors looked delicious so it was definitely hard to choose! There are various options to choose from whether it's a regular scoop of ice cream, shakes, malts, and more. After ordering you're given a number and an employee will bring your order to you. Place is nice inside, very well laid out and naturally, some high school kids are going to sling you some ice cream. You can sample, then order and everything is made to order and brought out. Trip 1 - Campfire marble. It's been a challenge finding smores anything and it's been entirely too hot and dry to make smores, so I had to. And it didn't disappoint. The mini marshmallows that get hidden throughout give this a nice little crunch texture and add your marsh flavor. Ice cream is tasty, no flavor dominates and they all compliment each other perfectly. And you get the subtle hint of graham cracker from time to time, along with whipped cream. This, get this. Don't give me "I'm not a smores fan" or anything stupid like that, just get it and be happy. Raspberry fudge torte sundae. Besides being a mouthful to say, it's a joy to have in yo mouth! It's everything you want with tart and sweet and chocolate and whipped cream. If you're a fan of raspberry/chocolate, you need this in your life. Trip 2 - Banana split, no idea why I got it. But I did, and I loved it. The ice cream is good quality, the toppings are fresh and all compliment the fresh banana. If you're a split fan, this will be one of the better ones you get. Hot fudge banana marble, I snuck tastings of this from my wife when she wasn't looking and corralling the kids, who were obviously on a sugar bender. The mix of the vanilla ice cream, fudge and bananas is perfect. A touch of peanut butter would take this to heavenly. But, it's not entirely needed because the flavoring here is awesome. So happy there is another ice cream option besides DQ or Cold Stone (not that those are bad!) in the area. I like scoop ice cream so much better anyway. They have the standard flavors from the old time ice cream parlors. But my favorite has to be the licorice! It's one you either love or hate. Biggest think I dislike here is that they don't scoop and hand off. You tell them what you want, they ring you out, and then bring your scoop to you. Someone recommended several other ice cream joints before recommending this place. So I immediately brought my wife here to see why they disliked it. I got the hot fudge banana marble sundae and my wife got the root beer float. This is my take away: If someone recommends not to come here, promptly have they institutionalized with fully trained medical staff or call the police because they're a either a psychopath or have someone neurologically wrong with their brain functions. We went at around 7pm on a Wednesday. It was busy but not too busy and the line moved quickly enough. We ordered at the checkout counter, which I think helped to expedite the process. Then we were given a number & our shakes were brought out to our table! I ordered a s'mores shake, with salted caramel espresso ice cream. Super good! It reminded me of when I used to work at an ice cream shop. I would totally order it again. My bf ordered a tin roof sundae which was good but basic. He likely wouldn't order it again. The bad: we found a hair in one of our sundaes. It was towards the bottom, so I'm guessing it could've happened in back with dishwashing or with making the sundae. We didn't want to mention anything at the time (it was busy & we weren't interested in having the sundae remade). The good: I messaged Bridgeman's on Instagram and they were very polite. They offered to send a gift card & they said they would take my suggestion of a hairnet or hats instead of visors into account. Obviously hairs happen if anyone working there has any. The Carnivore recalls from his youth an establishment known as Bridgeman's. Not this location, mind you, but another place and time. The existence of the Lollapalooza confirms the tie to times of yore. I never did try that dentist's delight because of some unsavory fruit substances contained within it. On to the more important stuff. White. So. Very. White. The inside of this place smells like a candy store, but looks like you would imagine an operating room (or autopsy room) to look like. The Carnivore appreciates a hot fudge butterscotch malt from time to time, so he ordered one of those. It was okay, but populated with lumps and what I presume were bits of ice. Not a re-buy. Mrs. Carnivore also enjoyed an ice cream treat that was adequate, but not inspired or particularly enjoyable. One thing that caught our eye was the Bridgeman's mascot, and The Couple Carnivore both remarked that it is bold and curious that the mascot would be apparently lactose intolerant. This supposition arises from the picture itself, which contains a character who has not missed too many meals, and what looks like a fart cloud behind him. In this day and age of wokeism and overly-inclusiveness, we can endorse this choice, even if we would not have made it ourselves. What is more inclusive than a mascot that can not ingest your product without abdominal distress and room-clearing posterior explosions of pressurized stink? Good job on that, Bridgeman's!!! I believe a portrait of the late Wilford Brimley with a caption mentioning that while not on the menu, diabeetus can also be found here would add a lovely counterpoint. The staff was friendly enough, but unintelligible due to the anti-communication devices still in place at this location. Dear Bridgeman's, If almost no other businesses are still entertaining this foolishness, you are not helping anyone by doing so. In summary, it was a nice trip down memory lane, but this location completely lacked the warmth and hominess of the location I visited in my youth.
