We tried Just Fur Pets on a recommendation from a work colleague. We never looked back. Even though the drive is 45-55 minutes one way, it is well worth it. Our dog loves Denise and her husband. They take great care of him. Also, their their rates are very reasonable. Much cheaper than downtown Austin standards. While it is a little bit of a drive, your bill will be less and you can sleep easily knowing your pet is well taken care of and loved. Simply put, I cannot recommend Just Fur Pets enough. I would give them six stars if I could!

I regularly drive 45 minutes (one way) to Just Fur Pets because it's worth it! When I arrive, my dog (a polite senior pup) pulls his leash with all his strength to get to Denise's front door. He doesn't even look back when I shout bye as he slips into the house. Denise is a tried and true animal lover. She is experienced in a way that only one with a lifetime of pet care can be. She is kind, flexible, and professional. Her rates are reasonable and my dog's obvious happiness is all over his face at drop off and pick up. We've used her services many times and we will keep coming back forever!

Home Away From Home is the gold standard in pet boarding…read more A few years ago we adopted a Rottweiler mix who had not been socialized well (with dogs or humans) and had developed moderate-to-severe anxiety after being attacked by a couple of strays--her previous owners had been treating her with prescribed Paxil. We quickly began introducing her to our friends and friends' dogs, but it wasn't long before we needed to travel without her, and we were a bit anxious ourselves about finding a sitter or boarder who could cope with her issues and not exacerbate them. Wendy and her family at Home Away From Home proved to be quite adept at evaluating our dog's personality and finding other dogs with whom she got along well to share a pen--especially a pair of Labradoodles, of all things--and giving her plenty of loving attention. The first couple of times we dropped her off there, she cowered, clung to us, and had to be coaxed into Wendy's hands; but by the third or fourth visit (over a span of months), though she still seemed anxious at first, she began wagging her tail and acting happily excited the moment our backs were turned--the brat! A dozen or so stays later, our dog now recognizes the route to Home Away From Home as soon as we turn off of I-35, and is jumping up and down with excitement by the time we arrive there. Our Rottie is no longer a scared, anxious dog. She'll never be as extroverted as the stereotypical Labrador, but she's grown to be happy, playful, and even outgoing. Her stays at Home Away From Home have played a significant role in that transformation, and we'll gladly continue boarding her there for as long as we live anywhere near Georgetown.

She quickly earned the trust of our Border Collie rescue (Jack) - no easy feat; and she has been careful with our Aussie (Charley) who is nursing a torn ACL. Whether we just need her for potty breaks, play time or walks; or if we need her for one day or a week, she has always been available to care for our pets. Most importantly, my husband and I are confident she cares about them and understands their needs. After each visit she leaves a detailed report about their activities. We LOVE reading the daily recap of her visits with our boys! The first is the pricing: they are very reasonable, especially in comparison to their competition. The same procedures at other vets, which I visited before finding Zoot, cost anywhere from $50 to $150 more. The second reason is their efficiency. I timed my most recent visit, in which I brought in a sick dog that needed an exam, shots, and a heart worm test. They had me in the exam room at the exact time my appointment was scheduled, the doctor immediately walked into the room, after the thorough exam the vet tech was instantly there to administer the shots and give the heart worm test, when I walked to the front desk the already had my bill ready to pay and the paperwork and prescription ready for me, and from the moment I walked into the building until the moment I was back in my car it took 17 minutes. And my dog is now back to 100% health. I have literally never had a more positive experience at a vet's office.

Our dogs have never been boarded so I was worried about their behavior or being around the unknown humans. Megan, the owner, made them feel right at home. This isn't your typical boarding facility where dogs are in a kennel all day with a couple of play times. They can play or sleep all day with other dogs until bed time. She provides some of the best experiences for pups, taking them to beautiful open spaces to run around, on nice hikes or bodies of water, as well as good socialization.
