I booked through their online platform and received multiple confirmations. I never received any contact before the reply to this review, and had to file with my credit card to get the charges removed. Again, beware. read more

I just had my hair done by Sandy and I'm totally amazed! Friday noon in less than an hour I had a hair cut and blow dry and I love it! My hair is kind of difficult for most hair dressers because is long, thick, curly and it very dry but Sandy did a great hair cut and I'm enjoying my curls again! read more

What a great find!! First off, I have to say how CLEAN it was. Sanitizer for everyone, temperatures taken and I personally watched Andrea clean and sanitize everything she used. Sandy did my hair beautifully and Andrea was so welcoming and nice to chat with. Oh, and you can even shop there!! I left with a fabulous blowout and an adorable new dress (not pictured). Amazing customer service! Although they were very busy they gave me a same day appointment and honored it. The owner is so sweet and thoughtful and the hairdresser that did my blowout did a fantastic job. My hair is naturally very curly and thick and is hard to blow dry but she did made my hair look so good and lasted! I went to BarBeauty because I needed a haircut badly and wanted to support a local New Haven business. I had walked past the storefront a few times before and loved the look of the salon. Since we are still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wore a mask and Andrea took my temperature upon arrival. I got my haircut from Sandy and I am (sadly) disappointed. I really wanted to like my haircut but I feel as though it didn't turn out right. I have very thin hair and explained that I thought layers would be best. My hair was shoulder length before and I feel now that the layers around my face are much shorter than the back layer of my hair. It's not too short but the layers look choppy and it just doesn't look right. In the middle of blow drying my hair, Sandy took a personal phone call that lasted a few minutes, to. Everyone at this boutique beauty bar is sweet, friendly, and talented. I was greeted at the door by owner, Andrea, who offered me champagne. Then, I got a hot tool style done by Meg and a full make-up done by Gianna. They did GREAT work. I have thin hair and asked for lots of long-lasting volume--Meg delivered. I had my hair and make-up done at BarBeauty for a small, family-only wedding. Andrea did my make-up and Joanie (sp?) did my hair and nails. They are both wonderful, sweet human beings and they did a really great job! They were also very accommodating. My family decided that they also wanted hair and make-up done at the last minute, and they were able to work them in. The price was also very reasonable. A lot of other salons require a trial run for brides, which basically doubles the price, but BarBeauty does not, and that was perfect for me. I am really happy with my experience at BarBeauty and would highly recommend it to anyone. read more

I recently popped in to get my eyelashes tabbed (who knew this was even a thing??) at BarBeauty. The entire process was extremely easy, from booking an appointment online (and rescheduling) to getting them done. The ladies at BarBeauty were helpful and friendly. My lashes came out great, and only cost $15 to get done! Best part was they lasted a couple of days. I can't wait to go back and try their blowout. read more

Today was my first time visiting BarBeauty and I was not disappointed. As soon as I walked in I was offered champagne which I thought was a nice gesture. All of the ladies working there, including the owner are incredibly nice. I went for a balayage/cut/blowout by Meg and she did an amazing job. She was very knowledgable about products and hair colors. I didn't have much of an idea of what I wanted and Meg helped me using swatches to decide what would look best. The end result was perfect! Incredible shampoo and blowout - much better than what I am used to in SF or NYC with blowout bar services. Me and my friend had appointments at 11 am for updos for my brothers wedding. We arrived 10:55, by 11:15 no one had shown up so I called. A phone rang inside but no one was there. By 11:30 we called again and left, stressed out, angry and sad. I'm mostly sad that they didn't contact us if something came up (they had my phone number), open at 11 as the sign says and didn't honour our appointment. read more

Great place to get a blow out, curls and makeup. I have a lot of hair and they were super friendly and ready to get me moving to my event. I got a blowout, curls for my thick and long hair and eye makeup all done within 1.5 hours. I thought I would have been there for at least another hour but they were super quick. Loved my wavy curls which lasted all night and my makeup. Definitely will go again when I need my hair and makeup done. Though it may be helpful to bring any makeup palettes you have if you're going for a specific look! read more
