Literally one type of species was completely dead! There was easily 20 of them, gone. And next to that tank was a dead carcass of a fish, that looked to have been there for months. The place is caked in dust and smells so bad. If you make your way to the back of this h*ll hole. You will find reptiles kept in HORRENDOUS conditions. Lack of food and water! You can literally see the neglect caked into these dirty dishes. The geckos look sick and depressed. Any pictures you see from this place have been crafted to appear clean and beautiful. The store is literally in shambles. As an animal lover... my heart shattered at the inhumane conditions of this place. I came here for hopes of a local store for my pets needs... but when the only animal thriving is a cat... it makes sense. The cat can roam freely and are typically more acceptable to give attention too...Vs these poor reptiles and fish, kept in deplorable conditions. These animals are basically rotting away til they get replaced by NEW pets for sell. Like I said before on your FACEBOOK POST THAT YOU DELETED RIGHT AFTER. DO BETTER. You know the husbandry is so bad, when your first instinct is to go home and love on your reptile and other pets! I've worked in Customer Service for basically my entire life, and while the gentleman was kind of nice was also very condescending like he knew everything. The problem with that is if you knew everything, the shop would not look the way it looked considering we were told that it was a family owned business, and he was part of the family. West Florida Axolotls has the best quality axolotls, and it shows the care that they put into this room. The staff prefer that their animals die as food and live a miserable life, then be rescued and taken into a home, even if that only means living for a short while. I can't believe that these people are able to keep their doors open. Do not come here if you are an animal lover of any sort.. or someone who likes to smell in through their nose.

We went here to learn more about the different type of snakes as well as what we'd need to purchase a new snake owners. All the associates here were extremely knowledgeable and very kind. They answered all our questions and explained the commitment that goes into owning a snake and any other reptile they had in their shop. They have a large variation of snakes, lizards, iguanas, tarantulas, turtles, alligators (though not for sale) and a chinchilla. I highly recommend Xtreme Exotics!

The staff including the owner was VERY accommodating when she would need time off or had a problem. The owner constantly praised her on her work ethic. My daughter described working here as "it's like home". Now as a customer my dog loves going to Critter camp! He gets excited when I mention the words "critter camp". They always make sure he has a bath before coming home and he loves the playtime with other dogs his size. When we have to go out of town and he can't go, we will ALWAYS use Critter Camp because I know he will be taken care of just like we take care of him.
