The thing I love the best about Chipotle is the freshness of their chicken and well seasoned it is. It's always nice to see them grilling their perfectly marinated chicken on the flat top as you wait to be served. I got a bowl that consisted of brown rice (trying to be healthy), black beans, chicken, sour cream, corn, lettuce, guac (treated myself hehe) and mild salsa. A big tip is to ask for veggies, even though you ordered meat they will give pan fried onions and green bell peppers for free! It makes a HUGE difference. A really great addition of sweetness to the meal. Another tip is asking for a tortilla on the side. If you want to get in your carbs, this is a great addition, and free as well! Another great thing about Chipotle is how fast the service is. They've really gotten down their whole process flow to a science. Even though it wasn't packed today, even during a lunch rush you never feel like you're waiting for too long. To my surprise, this place popped up and not only did it have high ratings on Yelp and Google, it was also SUPER close to me. I found out that it's actually right across the street from Ryerson at the World Food Market. I placed an order for combo 2 which came with five tacos, a small consommé and one soda. Picked up my box and hurriedly walked back to my building, opened the box and was pleasantly surprised that the tacos were big ones. Prior to ordering, I was miffed that they were charging an extra $1.50 just for cheese and also expected the tacos to be small because all the tacos I had down south in USA (near the Mexican border) were small. These tacos were nice and big (about twice the size of a normal taco). In terms of taste, they were quite good! Definitely not as multi-layered in flavour as the quesabirria I had down south in California. They also use beef instead of goat here which is fine by me because the meat was still super tender. I do think they could've included more beef in each taco. The taco shells were properly dunked in the consummé and then grilled on the plancha. For $30+ it is still definitely on the pricey side tbh, even considering the larger size of the tacos. I think for that price tag they can throw in 1 or 2 more tacos and a slightly bigger container of consummé. Also, their official website claims to have a multitude of sodas but when I ordered on uber eats, they literally only had 3 sodas to select from which was disappointing (I wanted coke zero which was shown on their official website). +1 because they accept Amex. Would reorder again if craving birria on a workday as there aren't many other options around at the moment but if a competitor comes along and decides to undercut them on the price per box (or simply has better flavour), I'm jumping ship LOL.
