Chipotle is always a go to of mine whenever I'm in the downtown area, more specifically Ryerson University. As a student of Ryerson for 4 years, I was a frequent customer of this Chipotle and they never disappoint. The thing I love the best about Chipotle is the freshness of their chicken and well seasoned it is. It's always nice to see them grilling their perfectly marinated chicken on the flat top as you wait to be served. I got a bowl that consisted of brown rice (trying to be healthy), black beans, chicken, sour cream, corn, lettuce, guac (treated myself hehe) and mild salsa. A big tip is to ask for veggies, even though you ordered meat they will give pan fried onions and green bell peppers for free! It makes a HUGE difference. A really great addition of sweetness to the meal. Another tip is asking for a tortilla on the side. If you want to get in your carbs, this is a great addition, and free as well! Another great thing about Chipotle is how fast the service is. They've really gotten down their whole process flow to a science. Even though it wasn't packed today, even during a lunch rush you never feel like you're waiting for too long. This is of course the high end taco bell of mexican food franchises, it was late, i was hungry and lazy, i knew it was going to be the fastest thing to order. I gotta say this was very unsatisfying, too much sauces, made super sloppy, i had the barbacoa, tried to have a good balance of ingredients without over filling it, and somehow they found a way to "over building" my Burrito and taco's, the cheese was clumped in one ball at one end of my burrito, and a huge amount of sour cream at the other end, their fajita veggies were overcooked and fairly flavorless, the best part of the burrito was the barbacoa, it was good but very hard to taste with the massive amount of toppings and sauces. I also ordered the pastor tacos, I gotta say the pastor chicken was really good, with an excellent heat to it. but again a simple taco with little ingredients was awash in sour cream, i could not understand why there was so much sour cream, it made no sense, the tacos were literally swimming in it, this is not rocket science here, assembling a burrito and taco should be pretty simple, especially with a list of ingredients to use. i was incredibly disappointed, clearly their staff could care less about their jobs, zero pride in the food, just slopped together. We met at Chipotle Mexican Grill for supper. Trish and Gord both ordered burrito bowls (a burrito without the wrap). Trish's was vegan. Gord's had chicken (he said it was just okay). I ordered a chicken burrito ... it was okay, not great. It's like a production line with robots asking what you want as ingredients as you move along down the line. Gord and I both found it felt rushed. At one point after a robot asked me what kind of salsa I wanted (mild, medium or hot), I asked how hot medium was ... which prompted her to put a big spoonful of medium salsa on my burrito. I love chipotle since my time in the US. It is comfort food for me. This location is particularly busy especially over the weekends, I generally order it and take a pick up. The servers are nice and friendly, helping people choose and explaining the different sauce, type of meat etc. I generally pick a salad or a bowl, with a side of chips and Guac the days I feel like a deserve it. Ofcourse I add Guac to my bowl. The zesty lemon flavored chips go very well with the Guac and are definitely worth trying. Although it's been in the US for a while I recently saw the vegetarian bowl with Guac being added to the Canadian menu. Ah Chipotle, how I have missed thee... I lived in Europe for a couple of years, so imagine my immense pleasure when I a Chipotle on Yonge Street near Yonge and Dundas square. Sure there have been a few health scares at Chipotle in the last few days, but I chose to block that particular piece of information from my mind when I decided to go in. :) The good: The burrito. And the size of the burrito. I got the chicken burrito like I always do, no beans. And it was as delicious as I remembered it, perhaps even more so. So no complaints there whatsoever. And they were REALLY generous with their portion sizes at this location. I remember being able to eat one of their burritos fairly easily in the States but the one I got here could fill up two people easily, no kidding. The bad: The place is super busy. I went there on a Friday evening and the queue was super long. The staff moved things along as fast as they could, but it still took me 15 in the lines minutes till I could place my order. Not sure if anything can be done to remedy that since the place is super popular. And oh, the chips were cold and way too salty. So on the balance, a fairly positive experience. I am a huge Chipotle fan from our time living state-side - and thrilled to see them opening stores in Ontario. Went into this location - style of decor is what we expected, food is what we expected, service is what we expected - all great! The one sore spot: the price. It's always annoying to see so clearly how much more we pay, as Canadians, for our food. Ended up being about $13 a person with taxes (compared to about $10 a person state side for the same meal). I love this place, I consider this as one of the more wallet friendly, healthier options downtown near school. I see employees working early in the morning when I walk past, props to them! In terms of service, everyone on the assembly line are great with quick and friendly service. I LOVE Chipotle. There. I said it. Food is consistently fresh. I like that they use hormone free meats and also have vegan/veggie options too! Service is almost always sweet and friendly. My fave is the carnitas salad with brown rice, with all toppings. Splurge and get the guacamole and chips on the side, it is delicious. There are definitely ways to be more healthful (ie hold the sour cream and cheese) but that's just not as much fun in my opinion. What happened? I remember this place being good! I ordered online through Ritual, and when I arrived my order was ready for pick-up. I had asked for no onions as usual, and was disappointed to find that the green sauce which I once loved, now had big chunks of white onion in it. A solid option in an area with crappy options for fast food. Walk in, jump in line and look at what the heck you want in your damn burrito. There's a good amount of options and you have to pay for them. I prefer this place much more than the Mucho Burrito chain that is popping up. The downside of the burritos is that they are getting up there in price and I don't know why but I don't think they taste as good as some of the American Chipotle's for some odd reason. Chipotle ruined my anniversary!!! My boyfriend comes from a small town in Ontario and has never been to the downtown core. For our anniversary i decided to plan the whole day, and hearing all the hype about chipotle, and knowing his taste for sure he would love it. as we were ordering food the front line was very unorganized, i have worked at mucho burrito and the prep is very similar so i know how it works. i ordered a steak and chicken mix, and they decided to put double meat and charge me because the girl didn't hear me properly. before eating it was bad. the burrito wasn't wrapped properly, more like a sub and it was falling out of the tortilla. the tortilla was cold, and didn't blend well with the food. as i said i've worked at a burrito place so i know how to wrap them properly. ordered chips as well they were cold and stale. i was disappointed and i knew my boyfriend didn't like it, the steak was too spicy, drowned in sauce and had a rubbery texture. the chicken wasn't anything special either. spent about 40$ there and we both ended up giving the food away because it was just gross. needless to say i'll never be coming back, and i think chipotle is over hyped and just not worth the money. mucho burrito has a better and tastier selection, as well as more options to choose from. i wasted 40$, and it ruined the whole day for our anniversary. i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

I don't really know if there really is a point of writing a review about a big chain restaurant unless there is something particularly special about this particular location. There isn't anything special about this Chipotle that stands out from the others, but I thought I'd post a review since I took a picture of my last order. The lines can get fairly long, but the service is quick and efficient and so it does move somewhat quickly (unless you get a lot of indecisive people in front of you - know your orders people before you reach the front of the line). I find the burritos too big to fit into my mouth and gets quite messy so I just ask for a burrito bowl. Extra meat is extra price, but feel free to ask for extra rice or veggies if you feel like you want more at no extra charge. I usually ask for extra rice to balance out the sauces and they're always fine with it. You can also mix-and-match the meat for free, they just give you less of each. My primary concern is the consistency of the food. I've come here many times ever since it opened its first location in Toronto and I would say that the food is what I would expect 70% of the time. The rice sometimes is too salty, or too clumped that the flavours weren't distributed evenly. The chicken was once undercooked (!!!) but has a tendency to be a bit burned - my last order had a few burned pieces of chicken which made the entire meal bleh. I often get my food to go so it would be a bit tedious for me to walk back and ask them to remake the food, but I definitely would have if I was dining in. Perhaps a bit of quality control would be helpful in providing customers with a more consistent experience. Nevertheless, Chipotle grew to be what it is today because it has a reputation for being good. When they don't mess up the rice and the chicken, the burrito bowl is perfect. read more

My friend Mike introduced me to Chipotle and he wouldn't stop raving about it since they have a couple in Ohio. So I figured I'd give it a try. It was well worth the money. I got a vegetarian burrito and I'd HIGHLY recommend you get it with the Guacamole (Effing Amazing). Service is quick when there are no line ups and the staff are very efficient and nice. This place could get really crowded most of the time. Pricing: I have not been back in a long time, I only remember the price being about around $10 for a burrito, which is a bit too much for me to eat on a regular basis.
