This review is going to be short…read more I've only ever gotten food at this location via the drive thru. They are sometimes a bit slower than at other locations but always friendly and the food is consistent with what you'd expect from Wendy's. There's only one drive thru line, none of this multiple lines that later converge. There are 2 pickup windows but I have only ever seen one of them open. It's a regular Wendy's with indoor seating and lots of parking. I've just never been inside, lol. It's across from Place d'Orleans Shopping Centre. Review #117 (2025)

I nervously popped into Poulet Rouge, intimidated by the menu and all the choices and received the friendliest service. I ordered a mini bowl with lettuce as a base. They offer plant based chicken, and opted for that, going with the shisha garlic flavour. The mini comes with a choice of 1 sauce and 3 toppings. I went with the chipotle sauce which had some nice kick to it. I topped it with cucumber, feta and tzatziki. The bowl was a perfect size for a quick light dinner. The plant based chicken was smokey and it was grilled to order. They have a couple seats to dine in away from the food court. Service was super quick and they were so friendly when I asked for recommendations. (sorry I forgot to take a picture, but I will next time I am there, because its now a new fave)

Poulet Rouge has arrived in Ottawa! It is a chain from Montreal that specializes in build your own…read morechicken bowls, salads and wraps. Their chicken is Halal. You can get everything without chicken too if you are a vegetarian/vegan, but they do not have alternate proteins. This location is in the St Laurent Shopping Centre (the other location in Ottawa is at the Rideau Centre). It's in the food court, but they actually have their own private seating, although you can bring your food to the main food court seating as well. I've had Poulet Rouge before, in Montreal, and at the Rideau Centre location as well. I really like the food at this chain. This visit I got the build your own Rouge Bowl ($10.99). You get to choose a chicken flavour (Hercules/lemon, Shisha/garlic, Fusion/BBQ or Volcano/spicy), a base (brown rice or bulgur, you can upgrade to quinoa for an additional cost), a dressing, and 7 toppings. I got the Hercules chicken with brown rice, no dressing, spinach, tomatoes, beets, bell peppers, black beans, cheese, and tzatziki (which counts as a topping and not a dressing). The food here is consistent with the location at Rideau. I feel like they might be a bit more generous with the meats in Montreal, but it's been a while since I've been there, so it might be they've shrunk portions everywhere. The chicken portion is still good, and my bowl was still very tasty. Service was friendly and the place looks clean. Poulet Rouge is definitely a welcomed addition to the St. Laurent food court :)

The fires were crispy, the curds were squeaky and the gravy was delicious. No one in my family (other than my husband and I) had had Mary Brown's Chicken before so we got a variety of items to try. We got some mild fried chicken, some spicy fried chicken, potato wedges, onion rings, gravy, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese salad. We also got a box of 5 chicken tenders with fries for my little nieces to share, but I wasn't able to get a picture because they were hungry, lol ;) It was my first time having the spicy fried chicken and it looked to me like they just sprinkle spices on top of the regular fried chicken after frying. It was ok, but the spices were definitely not well distributed. It's also not all that spicy. The chicken at Mary Brown's is similar in style to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), as opposed to Popeye's Chicken. It's less salty than KFC I find. The potato wedge were a bit bland, but tasted great with the gravy poured on top, lol. They are lightly battered. The onion rings were crispy and great. I had some leftover fries from my nieces. The fries aren't battered like the wedges. They were good as well. They are just regular-cut fries, not shoestring, but not beefsteak/thick cut. The macaroni and cheese salad was too rich and creamy for my tastes, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be. I didn't try the coleslaw because I generally don't like coleslaw and especially not creamy coleslaw. The gravy was nice and thick and full of chicken flavour. My dad's assessment was "better than KFC, but not as good as Popeye's" lol. I don't know if I agree. I really like Mary Brown's and I like that it's a Canadian chain (it's from out East). Besides, I think all fried chicken places can coexist, since they all offer something a bit different :) This Mary Brown's Chicken is in the Orleans Gardens Shopping Centre (which is really a plaza, not an enclosed shopping centre). There's lots of free parking in the plaza.
