Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - Spicy fried chicken (a few pieces already eaten- it's lighter-coloured than this in real life)

Restaurants like this, the fried chicken and sides are going to be consistent like other Popeye restaurants. This places gets marks for running a tight operation. It's quick to deliver food to customers after ordering. Where it fails though is on handling large orders. My order is a 16 piece chicken with 3 sides plus 8 biscuits. They told me my meal will take 15 to 17 mins and it came 25 mins later. Not only that, I realized they didn't put in an additional order of chicken nuggets in my initial order , so I had to go back to order it again but they were nice enough to let me skip the line up. Besides my large order being delayed, they actually do a pretty good job putting together the smaller orders. So, if your order is small, it's going to be a breeze in ordering your food. Family size combo... Prepared to wait almost 30 mins. I thought of calling in beforehand but I don't think the online coupons work when you order via phone. Here is a tip: if you are ordering food from here be sure to check out its online website for an online coupon. I was able to get a free large side with my 16 combo meal.

We decided to get the 8 piece to go. The cashier was very friendly and helpful with respect to the options available in case we wanted to mix white and dark meat or sides. Would return to this location because of the great service. So very rare in fast food. I get it, the idea is to get a lot of people through. The chicken was hot, crispy and tasty. Price points average for fast food. Unexpectedly, a wonderful experience!

For submarine sandwiches, Firehouse is pretty good. Expensive ($16-$18 for a 12" specialty sub;…read more$11-13 for the 7-8") but I think it is a great option for fast food. The quality is there, and they don't skimp on fillings/toppings. I ordered takeout through the app so I could get a deal - there are lots of coupons within the app. My order was ready for pick up at the requested time. They have a hot sauce bar in the shop - about 20 different hot sauces to try, I ordered 3 subs - they each come with a tasty pickle spear. Here they are in order of preference: - New York steamer was the winner. It was piled high with corned beef brisket and pastrami and worked well with the mustard and mayonnaise (maybe a touch less mayo next time for me). Note that if you're used to eating low sodium meals, you'll find this on the high end of acceptable saltiness. - Pepperoni pizza meatball. The meatballs were decent quality as well, not mushy, though hard to eat for a little kid as a whole meatball would come out with each bite. The pepperoni is a bit spicy so some people might be sensitive to that. I would have liked more marinara sauce but that is a personal preference. - Italian. It was overwhelmingly sweet, mostly from the honey ham. Once I took out the majority of the ham, the flavours were much better balanced, though then I could taste that the bread itself was a little sweet. This one isn't good as a leftover due to the wet toppings in it (tomato and lettuce). Overall, I'm happy with this experience and would definitely add come back.

I was really hoping to like the food here. I initially wanted to try the Markham location, but the…read morereviews on Yelp & Google were incredibly low and Stouffville was higher rated and usually a hit for dining. I was just looking for a place to order a bowl, salad or something quick for lunch while working from home. I checked out the website and was happy to see so many healthy options for bowls, wraps, salads, soups & smoothies. Loved the option of adding ingredients to their menu options such as chicken, steak, different veggies - at an additional cost of course. Or if there are some you don't want included, you can remove them. It wasn't at all what I was expecting and left me feeling disappointed that in Markham & Stouffville, I have yet to find a spot that has great bowls AND salads. This is what we ordered: Fiesta Salad - Field Greens, Aged Cheddar, Avocado, Salsa Fresca, Black Beans, Corn, Crispy Wontons, Cilantro Lime - way too much salsa, made little bit of lettuce included soggy, too many beans, not enough field greens. 3 pieces of avocado and the dressing did not go with the salad at all, too sour! When my hubby brought the salad home, I thought he brought me the wrong item. I didn't expect it to look exactly like the photo on the website, but at the same time it looks like 2 completely different salads. (2) Teriyaki Twist bowls - Brown Rice, Edamame, Crispy wontons, Broccoli, Carrots, Cucumber, Green Onions, Sesame Seeds, Teriyaki - a lot of cucumbers & carrots. The broccoli was refrigerator cold, rice was warm, chicken was ok, but so little. The teriyaki sauce was extremely salty. The bowls were a lot smaller than what I was expecting. The Fiesta Salad was the biggest disappointment. Based on what we saw online we ordered it to share. The portion is more of a side salad and not a lunch size portion. You can barely see the field greens because there were hardly included with the amount of beans and salsa that were in the container. Will I go back? Possibly to give it another try, but not on my list of immediate places to revisit.

The chicken chimichanga and the chicken* (and beef) enchiladas suizas were great. They were served with rice, refried beans and salad. The pozole was big enough to have as a main dish. First, let me address items that could be improved... - The starter chips and salsa, while complimentary, are too small. The serving should be at least double the size, and the chips should be warm. However, if you ask for more, they will happily give you another serving. - The desserts, we tried the Sopapilla and the Churros. For the Sopapilla, again they should be warm and rather than drizzle, provide the caramel or chocolate so a person can dunk the pastries. For the Churros, they were over fried, very oily. So less time in the fryer, more light and fluffy. And again, no drizzle, with Churros you want to dunk into the caramel or chocolate, a lot!!! Ok that's it for the improvements. The rest of the experience was excellent. Starting with the drinks... great stuff! Great flavor, great presentation and they pack a punch. For the entrees, we had combo dishes that included enchiladas, burritos and chimichangas... mostly with beef and chicken, along with various hot sauces. They were excellent and good size portions. We've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants over the years, the food here was definitely one of the better ones we've had. The restaurant is on the small side for sure, but the atmosphere is great and the service very friendly. In the summer they have a great little outdoor patio with lots of shade. They have lots of parking and is perfect location if you plan on spending the afternoon in the park or go for a walk downtown.
