It's a restaurant that opens during the warm summer months and only an outdoor lovely patio facing a gorgeous lake. We started with the Pull and Tear Bread, Flaming Chourico and Patatas Bravas. The bread was right out of the oven, the chourico was sliced pork (don't touch the pig!), and the patatas bravas was bite sized potatoes in a saffron aioli and brava sauce... all were excellent starters. We lucked out getting a table for their last summer day. The location is quite beautiful and it's a relaxing environment to enjoy some delicious foods. This particular location is all outdoors and only open during the warmer season. We've been to their Aurora location before and loved it. I will say, the pricing is a tad bit high, but the food is really good and it's worth being one of those special occasion dates. I love that the menu isn't huge - meaning they're paying attention to quality over quantity. We ordered brussels to share which I found to be just a tad bit too vinegary for my preference. I had a few bites and left those mostly for my boyfriend to have. The fries were perfect though. The mains actually followed immediately after the starters - pretty quick service considering it was fully booked that night. My boyfriend had the lake burger which was so good. They used brie as the cheese and you just can't go wrong with that. We had an octopus to share, which was absolutely tender and grilled beautifully. It had a lovely flavour. I couldn't enjoy too much of it though because it had quite a bit of oil, but it tasted great. My favourite was the seared ahi tuna though. It comes on a bed of olives, piquillo and beluga lentils which complimented the fish perfectly. I will crave this combination for quite some time to come. Absolutely something I'd recommend to anyone coming to this place next summer. Obviously, we were too stuffed by this point for dessert, but they had some nice options and I noticed other tables really enjoying their sweet treats. Of the two, I would recommend the salad as it was somehow just tastier. The vinaigrette paired really well with the edamame, greens and crispy chips. The burger unfortunately had all the right ingredients but fell apart after the first bite and wasn't very cohesive. They are famous for their fried brussel sprouts, which we tasted and were good. The restaurant was well decorated and inviting. The staff are friendly, and very knowledgeable. The food however is not something I would really go back for. My partner and I had the garlic tiger shrimp, it was delicious, but we had to order 2 slices of bread on the side, which I think should be included with this appetizer, as you need something to be able to soak up the delicious broth that comes with this dish. The two slices are $2. Next up was the steak, which was $48, came with fancy looking scalloped potatoes that were very buttery, if you like that sort of thing? You would have really enjoyed these potatoes, in addition to 4 sticks of asparagus that were done well. The steak was average, but was not made to our ordered request. My partner requested well done, and I wanted medium rare, both of our steak came to the table medium. We sent one back to be redone, and the second to be settled into the warmer while the steak was being remade, but the second time was also medium well. And I received a completely new plate (which most people would love, but I was ok to eat my steak from the first plate and really wish they just brought that back from the warmer as I asked...). We opted not to have dessert here, and just called it a night. Again the wait staff were lovely, and the restaurant was decorated well. We made reservations because this resto fills up really quickly during the summer months when the weather is nice. They offer only outdoor dining. The last day is September 19th. They close the rest of the year. We ordered the brussel sprouts to start. There was 5 of us and we ordered the lamb and beef burger, salmon, mussels and shrimp taco (additional taco cost $7), seafood linguini and plain Alfredo linguini for our youngest with a side of fries. The ambiance is really comfortable and we really enjoyed having the lake view beside us. Most of the tables available at the restaurant is for parties of 4. They had about 3 tables for a party of 6. The Shirley temple for kids was delicious. My youngest couldn't get enough of it!! For dessert, we surprised our oldest with funnel cake topped with vanilla ice cream. Besides the lake view, it's the closest non-residents can get to the beach, which is private. Tuna tiradito was lightly dressed ceviche & pretty good. Seafood linguini tasted ok (quite mild); the shrimp was a little soft - it could be fresher. Grilled octopus had a nice char. It was tasty though the octopus was a little soft - it could be fresher, though it was still ok. It was slightly spicy. They don't serve bread so if you have a large appetite, order more. So I heard a lot about this place and booked reservations way ahead of time for Sunday lunch. The patio is nice overlooking the lake, but when the sun beats down it , it can get pretty hot! Since I'm pregnant and have a toddler menu, we could not eat a lot of items on the menu and it was a smaller menu. For appetizer we got grilled sour dough bread and the spread was good. We also got the shrimp taco and vegetarian pizza. I thought the food was okay and pricing was too expensive for what it is. I Went here for a date night just by luck that I found a reservation on OpenTable on a Thursday night at 7:30pm as I've looked before and this place is usually booked up regardless if it's weekends or week nights. We ordered the octopus, fried Brussels sprouts ( which was highly recommended by the server) and steak and shrimp pasta. Starting off with the two appetizers the octopus and Brussels sprouts. I didn't find the Brussels sprouts "amazing" as the server described. It was good but it definitely wasn't amazing. It was flavourful almost like it was fried with balsamic sauce. As for the octopus, I wouldn't recommend it, it was just average and I found it a little too chewy for my taste. And for the price of this which I believe is $18, You get about 2 small octopus legs which I don't think it's worth it. For the mains, we had the steak and shrimp fettuccine. The steak was ok, the taste was good but definitely better if you want to eat it at an actual steakhouse. For the price it was just average. For the pasta, it was tasty and the portion was pretty good for the price. The pasta was flavourful i believe it's just a butter white wine sauce but they were definitely generous with the amount of shrimps they put in them. The wait time for the food was ok didn't take too long. However I do recommend that they should consider having patio heaters for cold nights as many of the guests besides myself were dressed in their outerwear and feeling super cold. Server was good as he followed up with our food and asked how the taste was. Overall experience is 3.8/5 I personally don't think it was worth that hype where everyone says it's amazingly good. The atmosphere is beautiful with an covered patio sitting on the edge of a beautiful Musselman's Lake, and the food is excellent! This is my 2nd time here. The first time I had raw Oysters for an appetizer and Seafood Linquine for the main, but this time I make it really simple having some bread with Humus and an Aperol as my appetizer and their "uncommon burger" for the main (6 oz. Lamb & Beef patty + Bacon + Brie + Tomato + Red Onion +Lettuce + Pickles + Pirillo Aioli on a Brioche Bun, and comes with fresh cut fries). Be sure to ask for some garlic Aioli as a substitute for Ketchup with the fries, absolutely delicious. read more

First of all, we had a reservation at Noon. We arrived the restaurant a little early, the gate was closed and by 11:50am there were a dozen customers waiting outside under the sun. At 12:01pm, the gate was still closed. So I unlatched the gate and the one of the two hostesses ran towards me and said she would open the gate. Well, if you would not let customers in not a minute early, make sure you open on time. While our waiter provided adequate services, the food was mostly a disappointment. The french fires were overly salted, the burger was over cooked and dry, the pasta was not el dente, the chicken thigh skin was soggy and the couscous was bland. Food was excellent--I'm not that fond of vegetables but the brussel sprouts were to die for, their caesar salad dressing was authentic and even included white anchovies. We tried all 3 available desserts, all were delicious with just the right amount of sweetness, and the cappuccinos were well made. Where they faltered is service. They messed up our phone-in reservation, made it seem they did us a huge favour by finding us a table even if there were a couple of empty ones, and gave us a condescending lecture that next time we should make sure we provide a credit card and get a confirmation number when making a reservation, something that the person who took the reservation over the phone failed to do. The pizzas took almost 45 minutes. Our server approached us about a half hour in to let us know they had a line up of pizza orders going into the oven.
