It was hot, flavorful, and checked all of the boxes for an amazing burger. No mess, no fuss, just good beef and good assembly. The caramelized onions lent a sweetness to the burger that kept each bite satisfying. The poutine was also pretty good and there was enough to share with a couple of friends. I wish I could vouch for the holy cluck but it seemed like there was more breading than chicken thigh. The chicken thigh was too thin but the layer of breading was so thick that it felt like I was eating just breading between burger buns. Since the thigh was too thin, it turned out dry and since there was so much breading, it was overly greasy. But, I guess it makes sense that chicken isn't a strong point of a burger joint. The chili and baked potato are nice changes from the typical fries you get everywhere else. I like that they leave the skin on their fries. The breakfast wedges aren't as good. I like a lot of cream in my coffee and the staff manually guesstimated a generous amount which she came over to show me before proceeding to add the coffee. Nice! I took my coffee over to a nice booth/table and immediately noticed the CUP. OMG. This cup is the Holy Grail of takeout coffee cups. SO sturdy, thermal, NO LEAKAGE, NO DRIPPING FROM THE NOT FLIMSY LID. The coffee itself is OK, a bit weak, but not bitter/burnt tasting. Idc. I'm coming back bc it's acceptable and properly packaged. I swear I could reuse it at home a couple times. Maybe if I add less cream it will boost the flavour of the coffee. On Saturday, I hit the drive-thru of this KFC. It's actually a combo store with Taco Bell. It's located on Highway 7, east of Pine Valley Drive in Vaughan. I hit the drive-thru at around 5:45 pm. I sat there waiting for someone to say hi. I got pure silence for at least a minute. Weird! I turned the volume back on my music. I turned it off. Nothing. I finally said hi. A few seconds later, I got a woman on the other end. Maybe the system wasn't sensing a vehicle at the drive-thru or things got busy? I don't know. The wait allowed me to thoroughly look at the entire menu. I ultimately went for a Taco Bell combo. However, you can technically order KFC and Taco Bell items in one shot. I had no problem paying for my food at the pickup window. I used a credit card. I tapped and was done. I recommend ordering through the KFC app and picking up your food. Instead of listening professionally and trying to resolve the matter, the employee on the phone stated that he "could not understand my accent," which I found highly offensive, discriminatory, and completely inappropriate in a customer service environment. I am a university graduate and a senior manager of a large corporation, and I found this comment ignorant, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Canada is a diverse country, and no customer should ever be spoken to this way because of an accent. Customer service staff should be trained to communicate respectfully and avoid insulting customers. To make matters worse, I clearly read the order directly from the bill, and the employee still did not even seem to understand the products on the menu himself. Rather than taking responsibility for the repeated mistakes, he chose to be dismissive and disrespectful. Management needs to address this employee's professionalism and behavior.
