Welcome table
Mary T.

Today, I headed over to Firehouse Subs for its grand opening. Everyone gets a free sub combo, which comes with a drink and a side. The store is located in the same plaza as Starbucks and Longo's in Whitchurch-Stouffville. It will be pretty busy as more stores open up. I found a free parking spot and backed into it. Parking may be an issue down the road. If it's packed right now, it will be insane when all stores are open! There was a welcome table when I walked into the eatery. I had signed up on Facebook and showed up at my 1:15 pm slot. The man who greeted me nodded and asked me to head over to place my order. I had an extremely enthusiastic person working the cashier. I ordered the Firehouse meatball sub. She asked whether I wanted regular or spicy. I had to ask how spicy the spicy was. After all, I am at Firehouse subs and there's an extinguisher that may be needed to put out the potential fire out in my mouth. Her colleague said that it wasn't spicy. Cool! I went with it. You also have a choice of getting white or whole wheat bread. I went with the latter. Since the meal is free, you are encouraged to donate some money towards Firehouses. I did. It's for a good cause. I got a cup and waited to use the fountain machine. It's like the fancy ones you see at Cineplex. It has a good selection of low-calorie Barq's cream sodas. I went with the peach. It was delicious! I then grabbed a snack-sized bag of Miss Vickie's jalapeno chips. I finally finished them about ten minutes ago. I like the kick and crunch of each chip. It probably took ten minutes or so to get my order. The order manager, who was making sure that everyone was communicating and working well, was the same one who was at the grand opening of the Markham location. Nice! I got my sub. The young man preparing my meal realized that I didn't want a pickle from my order and asked if I wanted it. He had added it into my meal by accident. I said that I would likely throw it out and asked that he take it out. He did. He was great. I thanked him and left. As expected, I couldn't sit down and eat. All tables were taken. Instead, I went to my car to chow down. That meatball sub is to-die-for yummy! The sauce is flavourful with a bit of a spicy kick in every bite. The meatballs are a generous size. They are seasoned to perfection. So good! The whole wheat bread was soft and grilled, but was still sturdy enough for me to hold with all that meatball sauce and meatballs. The Firehouse meatball is now my favourite sub at Firehouse Subs. If you are in the area, stop by today and get your free sub. Staff here are friendly and cheerful despite the craziness happening on opening day. (140)

The floors were also very sticky and overall just felt very dirty inside. The cashier was good but they are definitely understaffed which lead to long wait times for our food. Once our food was ready, we decided to sit outside rather than inside since there were so many flies flying around that just kept landing on everything. The food itself is good and what I remember A&W to be. Teen burger and pickle burger with onion rings and poutine. The onion rings are great and super crispy, just the way I liked it. Teen burger was good and a fresh tasting burger. I'd say overall I think they need to be a lot cleaner for their restaurant and do something about their fly infestation. Probably need to hire more people so that wait times aren't so long as well.

We ordered within 3-4 minutes and our meal was ready in 5 minutes. Cost less than half of the cost of usual breakfast places. The place has a lot of glass windows so it is always bright and the staff are always cleaning. Seats are not too close together. Clean, efficient, friendly and great value.

This was another new find for 2024 which left me craving more and wanting to go back. It didn't take much convincing for hubby to get takeout for the fam. We kept it simple and all ordered cheeseburgers with just bacon, sides of fries and onion rings. This burger really hit the spot! Nice size patty, seasoned so well. The bacon was crispy and they do not hold back on the pieces in your burger. The Yukon gold fries are fresh made and not frozen. I LOVE the onion rings, it's a generous portion of crispy rings! Burger sizes are single 1/4 lb, double 1/2 lb, triple 3/4 lb, pounder 1lb. Choose from Swiss, Cheddar, Bleu, Feta & Smoked Cheddar cheese. You can also add on sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms and more. There is the "Z"Fam menu selections and the Chef's Selections if you prefer to not build your own burger. We came on a Saturday around 530pm to the Stouffville location and they were busy. Friday and Saturday nights are their busiest. We waited about 40min for our food. Overall, the burgers tasted okay. The food wasn't hot enough. They were just a little more than warm. It was quite disappointing because these are fresh burgers and unfortunately it didn't taste that way. The fries and onion rings were decent. Good customer service.

Restaurants like this, the fried chicken and sides are going to be consistent like other Popeye restaurants. This places gets marks for running a tight operation. It's quick to deliver food to customers after ordering. Where it fails though is on handling large orders. My order is a 16 piece chicken with 3 sides plus 8 biscuits. They told me my meal will take 15 to 17 mins and it came 25 mins later. Not only that, I realized they didn't put in an additional order of chicken nuggets in my initial order , so I had to go back to order it again but they were nice enough to let me skip the line up. Besides my large order being delayed, they actually do a pretty good job putting together the smaller orders. So, if your order is small, it's going to be a breeze in ordering your food. Family size combo... Prepared to wait almost 30 mins. I thought of calling in beforehand but I don't think the online coupons work when you order via phone. Here is a tip: if you are ordering food from here be sure to check out its online website for an online coupon. I was able to get a free large side with my 16 combo meal.

I have frequented this Harvey's a couple of times within the last eight months. It's time to update…read moremy review and bump up my rating. To make an exceptionally long story a lot shorter, I had a horrible experience at a Harvey's in Etobicoke a few days before this visit. I was trying to redeem a free birthday pie and the barcode didn't work. The woman stated that it was used already, but also insinuated that I had lost it and had already claimed it myself. Nope. She made me feel like I was at fault. After speaking with Harvey's guest experience on the phone, I got a new code and expiration date for a free birthday pie. It did not have a barcode, so I'd have to show these details to a staff member at Harvey's. Last Wednesday, I was doing my regular errands in Whitchurch-Stoufville. I decided to get my apple pie at this Harvey's. The last time I was here was in December 2020. I parked in front of this Harvey's-Swiss Chalet combo store. The main entrance was closed. The door closest to the drive-thru is the only entrance-exit here. A couple enjoying their meal on the patio also mentioned this detail to me as I was reading the signs. It was like I got the message in stereo. I like how helpful folks are here and I thanked them. I walked up to the order area and waited as I saw roughly seven staff members preparing orders. It was quite the sight seeing orchestrated, organized chaos! Eventually, a nice man came over to help me out. I indicated that I was redeeming for a birthday pie. He took my word, which was the exact opposite experience from that in Etobicoke. "You have the code, right?" he asked me. "Yes," I said and showed him. He didn't bother entering it into his system. He got a special card to swipe and grant me a free apple pie in the system. It was so seamless that I was relieved and happy. He asked me if I wanted anything else. I asked about the chicken fingers. The maximum number that you can get in a combo is four, but you can always add more if you want. As a result, I maxed my order out at four. I typically get either onion rings or upgrade to poutine as my side. I felt like a salad and got one with Chalet dressing. I was so happy that I was at a combo store. I love Chalet salad dressing so much! I got a cup, paper straw, and a lid. I paid using my debit card. I tapped and was done. He said that it wouldn't take took long. I went over to the fountain machine to get a Diet Pepsi. You don't get any napkins there, but you can throw the paper straw wrapper over there. This area was impeccably clean. The male staffer wasn't wrong with how quickly my order was processed. I had barely stood there and he called my name. I felt bad for the older gentleman who was waiting there when I walked into the eatery. I thanked the male staffer for all his help. I walked out with my meal and headed home. The chicken fingers are amazing. I got sweet and sour dipping sauce. For every two chicken fingers, you get a dipping sauce. It was generous. The chicken is white meat and a decent size. Each chicken finger was tender inside and crispy outside. It was my first time having chicken fingers at Harvey's. It won't be my last. The sweet and sour sauce was awesome. It was perfect. Not too sweet. Full of flavour. All good! I loved my side salad. It's essentially a salad from Swiss Chalet with Chalet dressing. Although it does have iceberg lettuce that it's my favourite, I still enjoyed it with cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded cabbage, and a few mixed greens. It's all about the Chalet dressing! My Diet Pepsi was exactly what I had expected. It was fizzy and wasn't watered down. It hit the spot on a hot summer day. My apple pie was so good. It was crispy with a lot of apple filling. It was satisfying to have and consume it at long last. Yay! I was overjoyed with how yummy my food was and how great my experience was here. Back in December 2020, I went through the drive-thru, and ordered a couple of burgers and pies. I also had a positive experience then. I dig this location. The Etobicoke location could learn a lot about customer service from this one. (284)

The fact that there was a deal made me flag it. Markham has three Wild Wing locations. Have I been to any of them? No. There's also a Wild Wing roughly seven minutes away from my home in northern Scarborough (sounds exotic saying northern... haha), steps away from Cinnaholic. Have I been there? Nope. It occurred to me that I have only been to Wild Wing in the States. Yesterday, my visit to this location is my first in Canada. This Wild Wing is located in a plaza, across from a Japanese restaurant that I have flagged for eons. There was plenty of parking at around 3 pm. I parked and walked in. I was immediately greeted my a nice man behind the bar. I asked if I could sit anywhere. He said yes and I found a nice table that faces two television screens. One had the Blue Jays losing badly to the Yankees. The other had the Florida Gators demolishing the Tennessee Volunteeers in NCAA football. I like the effect that I have on lopsided outcomes. I looked at the drink specials. It was Saturday and classic cocktails were going for $6. I asked the man, who was highly attentive, what the classic cocktails were. He showed me a list. I went with a long island iced tea. Moments later, he came with my cocktail in a mason jar, with a lemon slice. Nice! It was good. I was happy. With the wing special, you get a pound of wings at 50% off the regular price when you purchase a beverage. This drink detail wasn't mentioned in the Instagram account. When you think about it, you need a drink anyway when you down wings. I went with unbreaded wings in mango chipotle dry rub. The pound of wings come with fries. I upgraded to poutine for an extra $2.50. I am still on a poutine kick. It also comes with celery and carrot sticks, with ranch dip. My meal came pretty quickly, probably because there was me and a couple dining at this hour. My food looked good. The poutine gravy was good. It had more pepper in it than I was expecting, but I loved it. The gravy was hot enough to melt the cheese curds. At one stage, I had the best cheese pulls happening. I was happy and it was fun playing with the cheese pull creations that I was making. The fries were what you typically expect, but definitely tasted better with gravy and cheese curds. I loved my wings. The mango chipotle had a mild kick to them. The wings were large and yummy. The veggies offered a nice contrast to my meal. I dipped them in the ranch dressing. I loved it all. This restaurant offers two flavours of The Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes. Part of me wanted to bring a slice of the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake home. I decided not to, as I was so stuffed and didn't think that I could down it later on in the day. I'll do it next time. I paid using a credit card. Cash and debit cards are accepted. Another server came over and helped run my transaction through the machine. All went well. The women's washroom was clean. I liked the red paper towel and black soap dispensers. It looked so modern. Both have sensors when you put your hands under them. I liked dining here. I rarely take the time to eat in Stouffville, as I tend to run errands. Service was stellar! Congrats on your grand re-opening, Wild Wing! I had a great experience. (385)
