I did not discover this until a contractor was doing some work on my house. It appears that Mastercraft Roofing just left the bathroom ventilating to the attic and caused some serious mold damage. I reached out to Jaime in a professional manner to report the issue and he said he would get back to me. It has been 5 days since my initial conversation and he ignoring my phone call, text, and email. It appears the company is not taking responsibility for their actions and at this point, if feels as if their warranty has no value.

He had come over to assess the problem, gave me a rundown of what needed to be done and said he'd provide a quote in the coming days. Got a good sense about him initially, but days became months. Texted back and forth over a few months and each time he said that he may have some time in the next week. After a few months of this back and forth, I called the company line and spoke with a receptionist who mentioned that she'll forward the message on to Jaime. Never heard back again. Writing this at the end of February 2025. He may have been good to others, but I've so far had a very poor experience in communication and follow-up.

I had a tight deadline for the work I needed to get done and they told me they would be able to complete the work in time which is why I went with them. However, after they completed the mitigation, the owner told me they would no longer be able to do the reconstruction portion of the job because they took other jobs. They left me with a hole in the ceiling where my cats could get into it leaving me to scramble to find another company to help me in time. Rumor has it the owner, Luis, also got offended when I asked him to be more careful when dropping dry wall from the ceiling because I was afraid it would scratch or damage my floors and that's also why they would not complete the restoration job. They didn't want to do a job where the homeowner was 'looking so closely or worried about their other property being damaged'. This is a clear indicator the owner does not have confidence in the quality of his work and is in fact afraid he would damage something so he'd rather back out from the job than 'have an owner looking closely'. I definitely dodged a bullet not getting reconstruction work from them after all. While Luis's partner, Spencer, who did the mitigation work, did a really good job and I would totally hire him again, the owner is quite young and clearly has not yet learned the basics of customer service so I'd recommend going with another company that is more established and has more experience under their belt, especially when it comes to customer service.

Their fixed bid included removing the window trim and the siding around the window to fix the leak, and to replace the window trim and siding with new materials. They removed the window trim only and then told me that the issue was with the window flashing. So they reflashed the window and replaced the window trim. They did not remove or replace any of the siding. Even though they were only at my house for 3 hours (and that included a trip to the lumber yard for supplies) I foolishly paid them $750 for this work. A few days later after a heavy rain the window leaked again. I called them and asked them to come back. I continued to call and leave messages every 4 or 5 days and finally got someone to answer my call. They said they would come out in a week. Another few weeks went by and they still had not come out. I continued to call and email. Finally when I got in contact with them they said that the $750 was for that work only and they would not credit any of that amount to continue to search for the leak, even though their original bid was going to include siding removal and replacement. They were not willing to do the remainder of the work that I had paid for on the original bid. Here's my breakdown of what it cost me: $100 materials (my estimate) 2 people's labor at $108/hour for 3 hours -------- $750 It does not take two people to replace 4 pieces of wood around a window. Nor do contractors in the Seattle area get paid $108/hour
