At first I was pleased with the initial consultation with Christopher and Diana. Their response was immediate and they to found a time to give us a formal bid for a 15x25 paver patio. We were told that we were working with a family business that was given to the son and his girlfriend and they had been working together for 7 years (later Diana told me she was new to the business). They gave us great ideas how we could design our patio and fire pit, did measurements and said they would email a quote the next day. The day came and went as well as four other days. I called and texted per their voice mail request with no response. After I left a negative review, they got back to me stating their laptop and iPad were stolen. I gave them the benefit of doubt and they gave us a small discount off the price of the job. We decided to proceed. I give them 2 stars and here is why: 1. Chris was never seen or heard from again - they stated his Dad was sick and he left for Mexico for the summer. 2. Diana was only on site very briefly and occasionally - a handful of times, which I actually have documented. 3. The crew of 5 that was promised along with Diana or Chris always being on site only happened after I quit being polite and the last 2 days of installation, minus Chris or Diana. Diana only appeared after I said I was not releasing final payment. 4. The patio was to be level with the grass, per Chris they were to dig down 6-8 inches, the crew dug down 1 inch, I complained and a crew of 2-3 came out the next half day to dig deeper. Patio is still a good 3 inches above grass line. 5. Crew had no idea the size, dimension or details of patio, they kept asking ME how it was supposed to look. 6. Crew had the circle kit / pit in more than half the patio, I said that was not the design, had I not caught this, my pit would literally be off my second step - all unusable space. 7. We went back and forth from 1 step to 2 about 15x as the crew said they could then couldn't do it. 8. The pavers were laid incorrectly, when I told the two man crew they stated "don't you like it"? We had decided on particular pattern that wasn't being followed. Texted with Diana (as that was our only communication since we was never out to monitor the guys) and told them to relay the pattern. They tried to take the easy way out instead of relaying all the pavers, I said "Not acceptable" and directed them to pull them all up and start again. 9. I was told by a crew member who was laying the pavers that the border would have to be laid different directions on each side, horizontal on one and parallel on the other - I said NO they all can and will be laid in the same direction. 10. After pavers for patio were laid, the crew began to load all the leftover bricks - which were a ton. They had cut my grass 2 feet wider than they should have (since they had no plan to follow) and said I could plant grass. NO - we had plenty of pavers left, after a call to Diana they did lay the additional 2x15 feet of pavers. 11. Fire pit was NOTHING like we agreed. We told them we wanted a propane pit, the igniter switch and start switch on the side. Chris stated "NO Problem" and that he could even build a cover for the tank. NONE OF THIS HAPPENED AND IT WAS A DISASTER. 12. Fire pit was supposed to have a cap around the top - crew never finished it, built it too tall making for the cap to not be installed. the pit should have been 33" circle fire, we ended up with a 24 13. Diana brought me a regulator for a bbq/propane, had I used it for the pit it would have blown up. 14. To get my fire pit useable and somewhat appealing cost me another $300 - After my text to Diana about holding payment she removed that cost from my final bill. 15. The plastic trim that goes around the pavers to hold them tight was not complete around the back of the pit circle, I was told it was not needed, have you ever seen half a border, it looked unfinished and forgot. I stated they needed to finish the border whether it was cosmetic or not. 16. The same day I made final payment to Diana, Chris sent me a message to ask if the patio pavers was done to my satisfaction, he never replied to my response. 17. After having a rainy day, the patio is NOT level and we have water that pools and sits on top of the pavers. Had Castro their Project Manager been on site like he was the final two days, I believe this all would have went a lot smoother, had less problems and errors and I would have had a pleasant experience. If you want to be the project manager, do all communication by text, and have nothing done that was promised, this is your company. May 2020 - Due to the poor build quality, danger to the lack of ventilation and the igniter being below the burner our firepit was a hazard. Our pit did not pass inspection and cost us an additional 3k to have a professional company rebuild the whole pit. read more

I've always had bad experiences when it comes to landscapers or any exterior home improvement companies. I have been shafted before with shady landscaping companies over-promising and under-delivering (scam artists, I call them). We've had a such a great experience working with Walter and Teresa. We first worked with them to have a paver base installed for an outdoor shed. A couple years later they were the only company we considered to do a retaining wall on our property. Like many Seattlites, our house is on a steep hill and we'd noticed erosion in even the first couple years of living in our home. We ended up choosing a 2 tier retaining wall with a patio on top. The patio was Walter's idea and it was the best decision we've ever made for our home - was like adding a whole new room. They are able to schedule in projects relatively quickly, prices are competitive, and the work is beautiful. We've gotten many compliments on the quality of the work from both friends and folks we've hired to do other projects on our property. Walter and Teresa are friendly and down to earth. I was blown away by Walter and Teresa. Not only did they return my call the same day, they were at my house for an estimate the next day. I had a huge, cracked concrete driveway that was poured and repaired over and over since the house was built in 1901. It was a big job and tough working conditions right in the heart of Capitol Hill. That means no street parking, traffic, limited space to store tools and materials and worst of all, it was accessible only by a long narrow side driveway. So how did they handle it? No problem. Walter had his crew break up the old concrete the old fashioned way - by hand. He somehow arranged for a dump truck of just the right size to get up the driveway. Within days the rubble was cleared, new sand was leveled, and gorgeous pavers in place. All this in just one week. And like the other reviewer noted, the same crew of guys arrived each day on time at 8am. I am very happy with the pavers. They have transformed a place for our cars into a very attractive party patio and driveway. In the city, you use every bit of space you can get. Neighbors love it, my wife is thrilled and friends can not believe the transformation. The pavers have added significant value to the house. I wish I had done it years ago. You can find a discount through Angies List and they run specials. Of course, they are a new business so they are working extra hard and giving deals now to build business. When we decided to get our driveway done we looked into several methods (concrete, stamped concrete & pavers) After some research, our hearts were set on getting pavers if we could find a contractor with lots of experience & that was affordable. That proved to be quite a challenge. Several contractors would give us quotes but could not gives us referrals & addresses where we could go see their work. The ones that did, were either very expensive or the jobs that we went to look at were not to our liking. When we finally found Seattle Driveway & Patio we were very impressed. This is a family run business that specialize in installing pavers. Teresa & Walter are a very nice couple. She takes care of the administration & he takes care of the crew. Right away we could tell they knew what they were doing. They provided us with several referrals & addresses to see their work. We were really pleased with what we saw & we even spoke with one of the customer who was washing his car in his driveway when we went to see his driveway. He was beeming with pride & rightfully so. The job had been done 8 months earlier & it looked great! They were not the cheapest quote we got but not the most expensive either. They were the ones we felt we could trust the most so we gave them the job. I wanted a very specific design & they were very patient with me & took the time to make sure they understood exactly what I wanted. They started right away & finished the whole job in 10 days. Except for a few days, Walter was on site himself supervising the work. It was a bit nerve racking as it was a big investment for us & we wanted to make sure it came out great. Because of the design we chose & that are driveway & walkways were not straight & flat there were a lot of unusual cuts that needed to be made. It needed a good eye, a steady hand & a good artistic sense. It could have easily turned into a catastrophe. But the workers were patient & allowed my husband to be involved in the areas that were a bit more tricky. They made sure the cuts were made to his satisfaction. We also had a hard time deciding what kind of sand we were going to use. Walter was patient & flexible. The only thing we were not quite happy with is that they did not use a protective pad between the metal plate of the machine & the pavers when they packed down the pavers. That left noticable marks on some of the pavers. The marks are gradually dissipating but are still visible. When we researched it after the fact we found out that it could have been prevented by them using a protective pad. Despite that, I could not give them less then 5 stars as they did a fantastic job, they are very service oriented & responsive. We would definitely hire them again & highly recommend them. We had Construction All-Pros (at the time Seattle Driveway and Patio) put in a brand new patio w/ pavers for an outside lounge area in the summer of 2016. The area was previously just dirt, overgrown weeds, and a strip of old concrete. Within days, they removed all the old stuff and installed the pavers. Here is why: I asked you on the phone to give me a ballpark, like a price per square foot, for materials and labor. I asked you several times. You never answered me, instead insisting that your bid was free. When I got your bid and it turned out to be THIRTY SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS, I was more than a little surprised, since all of the information I had found online hinted that it would probably be in the range of two to three thousand dollars. Just so you know, it would be cheaper for me to sell my house and buy one with a wider driveway than to have you add a stone walkway to this one, which would be overbuilding for the neighborhood. I am not even sorry that you wasted your time driving here from 30 miles away to look around so that you could give me your free bid. Because you could have saved both of us a lot of time by just answering my questions on the phone in the first place. Yours, K. I will add that I asked for a bid for a walkway, and you are the ones who insisted on tearing up and replacing my entire driveway because it would not look good if I just added a walkway. So, I don't know what you would have charged for doing what I wanted, because you refused to tell me. Even so, if the walkway that might have been 3 feet by 60 feet (so, 1/10th of the amount you bid) would have been $3600, I might have gone for that. We had this company come give an estimate on a Friday. They told us they had availability starting Monday. Over the weekend we decided to go with them and start as soon as they offered. On Monday morning they called and said they needed to start on Tuesday instead because they needed to get materials ready. I am a pretty picky person when it comes to the quality of work I expect. I am an experienced re-modeler and primarily I do remodeling projects myself and when I do hire contractors I hold them to the same high standards that I hold for myself. Several past contractors have failed to meet my bar. Seattle driveway and patio however did an excellent job. They came and removed an existing poured cement slab, resurfaced the area, prepped it for pavers, and placed 340 square feet of interlocking pavers. Their prep work was top notch and exactly as I would have done myself with no cutting corners. During layout I had one issue with how they had sloped part of the patio to accommodate an existing shed. We had a water permeable driveway installed because we had been having flooding with the concrete and drain combination. The team came out quickly and laid out a design that included a small patio connected as well. It looks beautiful and is incredibly functional. When they told us we could dump 5 gallons of water on it and it would go straight through we thought it must be an exaggeration. After the driveway was complete we tested it and the water went straight through--incredible! We could not be more thrilled with how our driveway turned out! Teresa, Walter, and team were amazing! Short version: Do not hesitate to utilize their services! You will NOT be disappointed! Long version: Our home was built in the 1920's, and the driveway to the garage was SUPER steep. We drive a low to the ground electric car, so we really needed to be able to get into the garage in order to park the car. My engineer-amazing husband calculated a way to slightly curve the driveway and used spray paint to indicate what the path of the driveway needed to be. They happily took on the challenge! The got rid of all the cracked old concrete, laid a great foundation, and then got to work with the pavers. They managed to make our driveway not only beautiful, but also functional!!! We also had a drain issue which they helped us to resolve to ensure that our garage does not get any water inside it. I was lucky to find them right off the bat because I had decided to replace my cracked grey concrete driveway with pavers to work with the style of my house and the colors in my landscape.
